I sure do enjoy seeing how clean your cattle are and so very well taken care of!!👍👍 That sure is nice of You Piet to give people tours of your awesome dairy farm!👍👍
I was in high school in the mid seventies in a rural farming community, my family was in row crop farming and we had a few dairy farm families also. I always felt somewhat sorry for those kids having to be up at the crack of dawn to feed & milk cows , then have to get right home after school to repeat the process.. These modern dairy operations are beyond belief with all the technology and industrial machinery.. The biggest advances that stand out to me is the total control and efficiency in the movement of all the various ages of the livestock, knowing exactly how each individual is doing health wise and having the ability to predict when and where to move each one individually.. If I weren’t halfway across the country I’d come for a tour as the dairy industry has all but disappeared from my state due to urbanization, unfortunately dairy operations and city folk don’t coexist well 😂
I requested a while ago on doing a video of your training your staff on the farm. And how you decide people doing certain jobs. Would be interesting to hear you speak and your staff too. I think it would give a true hearted story as you have grown with them. You build what you create right? You set the tone right? You lead my example right? I have said that before keep being genuine.
Hi Piet. The Little Moos are really quiet in the morning !! Here in Montreal, Sunday night we drop to (-5c) We have been bouncing between teens and twenties as of late during the day. Sunday the weather is gonna dip down into low single digits. How did the harvest turn out this season? It looks really good on the farms I follow.
Love your channel! ❤about roughly does stuff cost? Like the manure screws? I think lots of people are curious about pricing, they don’t realize how much it cost to make milk or cheese or gelato 🍨. I appreciate the answer You replied back about baling silage bales! I had no idea of custom pricing. 😊thank you for sharing your experience with us all! 🎉
Is most of the baleage baled with a baler that has knives to reduce the lenght of the alfalfa and take the strain off your Supreme TMR mixer? What were the typical winter weather conditions like on your dairy in the Netherlands?
Yes, the baler does have knives, but we still need to shorten the length with our mixer. Winters are very moderate in the Netherlands. They do get snow and freezing temperatures, but nothing like we get here in North Dakota.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO GOOD MORNING ALL 🙏

We've had a couple nights below freezing so far. Yields on corn silage were about average, but alfalfa was record yield for us here.
Excellent video Piet,do you have strict numbers on calves to keep and how many replacement heifers to keep? Youmentioned selling younger calves?
Yes, we have a good idea of how many heifers we want to calve monthly and try to raise close to that number of heifers.

I'll try to share more about the cost of things.

How do u keep up with every thing that going on around the dairy and the feed
A lot of notes and reminders. I try to finish things as much as possible to limit the amount of things I have going on.
So you visited SD, I am wondering about your favorite TH-cam milking channels that you may watch?? Favorite in the US, Canada, and the home country?
Mine are
US 10th generation dairy
Canada sask dutch kid and his sister dairy on the prairie
And tom pemberton overseas
But you are becoming a new favorite for me 😊
The 2 channels I watch most often are 10th generation dairyman and saskdutchkid.
👍
How many employees do u have to cover dairy and farming
We have 23 full time employees.
