I took mild offense when Jemele asked her to stop using big words. No, what she is doing is educating you and others while simply being herself. It is reminiscent of the times when black people are presented with the backhanded compliment 'You are so well-spoken". The idea of a black person being able to string a subject and predicate together and inject thought, intellect and meaning behind that sentence should not be a taboo. I implore many more to learn from this young lady.
This is an educated woman please don't tell to stop speaking in her normal way . Am sure Jemele didn't mean for that statement to be so stupid ! Hollywood need more teen actors to have the love and support of their family. I lived with my parents til I got married at 24, after graduating from graduate school. I'm so glad had this time because once married moved across country. It became difficult to see them, and then unexpectedly my mom passed. Moved back home to help my dad and so he could know his grandkids on more intimate level by getting to see them daily or regularly. Michael B Jordan also lived with his parents and he also has a very supportive foundation, and it's good for these young artist to have this when it's so much negativity that goes on in the industry.
