@@anonymous4142 because being famous, they have no practical need to educate themselves. The fact that they do so shows an inclination to learn and improve their minds. They can whatever they want with their money and privilege but they choose to spend it on education. There is nothing elitist about that. It doesn’t mean that every celebrity or person needs to get advanced degrees. Everyone improves themselves in different ways. This is just one of them.

It's strange because I was born in 1996 and it's strange not being the youngest "adult " at clubs but I'm 21 so I'm fine for now.
Faith You aren't doing anything "wrong" in your life. People are born with different abilities and talents. You have your own and utelise those talents to the best of your ability. Yara is a high achiever, trust me those people amongst each year are rarer. I knew of about 5 when I was at school who took Maths or History a year ahead of others. She can be an inspiration, but being an actress and an Ivy League accepted student is rare, but her down to earth nature and how she conducts herself are things for you to take inspiration from. Go foward in what *you* can and want to achieve and when you know you have achieved your best you aren't letting yourself down.

Christopher W I know this post is old... I just wanted to say you are correct! We don’t watch television at all in my household... my son as benefited tremendously! He is 13 years old and doesn’t like to interact with teens his age ? He says because many times they can’t comprehend what he’s saying, they have no imagination, and they curse to express themselves... I also want to add the logo in my profile picture is the logo of HIS COMPANY! So, yes raising your children old school does definitely pay off...it also saves money! No cable bill.

Well, you are right. That's the way to do it. There was discipline in the house. A kid born in 2000 & listen to her world view. Nothing compares to that. If we can have 5 of such kids in every nation, the transformation of the world for better will easily happened. So proud to listen to her but more credit has to go to parents.

I believe only the States would be so shocked to see a young woman being so well-spoken, eloquent and intelligent, which is actually quite common. I feel like people expect young individuals to be absolutely clueless, and tend to disregard their opinions. All young people are asking for is a little bit perspective.
I think iy plays not only into age but race. So often you will hear people of means and non color say astounded "he/she speaks so well!" to people of color that don't play into their idea of what a person of color sounds like. The sat part is that they still don't absorb what they're being told. The focus is the fact that poc aren't walking stereotypes.
