For me it's "Nothing last forever but the earth and sky". But seriously this song is so beautiful and full of so many good lines as well as some really profound ideas. It's honestly my favorite song of theirs. With "Carry On Wayward Son" coming at a close second, so yeah, he definitely needs to listen to that next!
Amazing little fact about this song was that it was written in one night by the lead guitarist, Kerry Livgren. They were recording and weren’t sure if they had “that” song on the album. Kerry went home, wrote the song and came back to the studio the next day and pitched it to the band. The rest is rock and roll history.
Excellent song! I've always liked Kansas, especially this song.🎶💓🤗 The violinist & lead singer is the late Robby Steinhardt. Beautiful voice! 💝 Kansas put on a fantastic concert! 💯🔥You should check out Toto - Hold the line & Africa.
Hey Adogg, I just want to say that every time I stop by I always stay until the end because I know it helps you! Otherwise what is the point of even stopping by! FABULOUS reaction young man!
One of my favorites!!!! Robert Eugene Steinhardt was an American rock violinist and singer best known for his work with the group Kansas, for which he was co-lead singer/"frontman" and MC along with keyboardist Steve Walsh, from 1973 to 1982 and from 1997 to 2006. He and Steve Walsh were the only original members of the band not from Topeka.
I saw Kansas when I was in my early 20s living in California. Many years ago. This to me is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. The violinist passed away not too long ago.
@ I am so grateful for the beautiful music that Kansas brought to us. When I saw Kansas in California those many years ago Robby came out and played the electric violin. I was completely mesmerized. My date was unhappy with me but I was a music lover and loved Kansas in particular.
The music back in the 70s, when I was growing up, had meaning. You really need to listen to the words of the songs that we recommend to you. You’re going to hear some deep stuff!!!!!!
Keep going with the bands from the 70's man...the BEST era in Rock music. You had the groups and artists from the 60's at their best and in their prime and then all these new groups like Kansas, Steely Dan, Supertramp, Journey and on and on............
If you are a *Supernatural* TV show fan, Kansas is the band that sings "Carry On My Wayward Son" that's always played at the beginning of the final episode of each season (except the first season... there it show up in episode 21). Carry on my Wayward son They'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
This started out as just a finger picking exercise. The guitarist was practicing at home when his wife walked by and told his he should make it into a song. It turned into such a big hit that people got sick of hearing it on the radio. You couldn't' get away from it.
I was going to make the same comment, but I figured I should scroll through the comments to make sure someone hadn't beat me to it. Thanks for keeping us honest!
I love to watch the joy on your face as you discover old music that many of us grew up on. Music soothes the soul and helps us find common threads that unite us. Rock on.
Kansas was the first band I ever saw in concert. With .38 Special, which would be another great band for you to check out! I enjoyed every moment of your video, again lol.
My grandson Izaak would of been 20 yesterday, he passed away on Valentine's Day 2022. We had this song played at his celebration of life!! This is one of the most beautiful songs ever !! ❤️
Kansas is one of my top ten all time favorite bands, right up there with Jethro Tull. I've had the privilege of seeing them twice in concert, back in the day. I love their complex, symphonic rock, full of variety, time signature changes, and gorgeous vocals and instrumentation. I haven't looked for it yet, and I know this is a year old video now, but I hope you got a chance to listen to their song, Carry On Wayward Son. It's just one of those rock anthems that ages like fine wine. In fact, the tv series, Supernatural, played the song in the last episode of nearly every season for their 15 season run, and it gave me chills EVERY TIME. Thanks for sharing your reactions with us. It's a joy to watch. 💜
Hey Adogg. I stayed to the end. One of my favorite songs. Saw Kansas in concert in Atlanta about a year before Covid hit. When they played this song, they had a couple of dancers from the Atlanta Ballet dancing on stage during this song. That was so beautiful and special. Great reaction!
"Sparks of the Tempest" is a song by Kansas that is not as well known as some, but is truly prophetic. Listen to it (from 1977) and compare it to the world today.
Hi bro, I love that your on this music journey…… All these bands, singers, musicians have been playing sweet music for us for so long , welcome to the club 😎….. love your reactions & seeing the joy 🤩 in you…… Play on ….. Love ❤️ Kansas ….. enjoy bro !Thank you too
Kansas are musical geniuses beloved worldwide, they filled stadiums all over the world . Thank you for doing this! Steve Walsh ruffled shirt lead singer keyboards, amazing 😍
I love all kinds of music, but I love the musical time period of the mid-sixties to the late 70's the best. I grew up with this music and hung out with fellow musicians and singer-songwriters. It seemed like everyone from this era could play at least one instrument, could sing and harmonize, wrote profound story songs, kick-ass dance music and had wonderful jam sessions. So much incredible talent out there then, before auto-tune, big explosions, and electronic wizards. Just pure talent. It's wonderful to see your reactions and see you not only expanding your musical education but helping to keep great music alive. Thank you so much!
I've been a Kansas fan since the first album in 1973. They were sent here from the future to teach and spread the word of the future.. you should check out 'NOBODY'S HOME" from the same album.. and then listen to they're whole history...
Just subbed you dude, thanks, a good reaction. Ive seen this band several times and Wow, they amaze me every time. RIP to Robby, the violin player and singer, this year. we'll miss you my guy..
The lead singer in this video is Steve Walsh, one of the greatest voices ever. The man playing violin and singing harmony is Robbie Steinhardt, also one of the greatest voices ever. Put them together, and this is one of the greatest tunes ever conceived. Kansas has many more spectacular tunes for you to delve into, if you dare...
Hey it's me again Janice I just wanted to let you know that I have listened to your reaction to Dust in the Wind.I have listened to it many times the song is great.Your inaction is so true and I in enjoy watching you enjoy great music. I'm sorry but in the 70's. 80's and 90's. We had very good music I think. Some of the best and now others younger like you are discovering the talent and bands. It just makes me feel good to see your face and hear your reaction. Thank you.
Kansas is one of the greatest bands of all time. Before long you'll have glow lights up in your room and you'll want to just vibe out in the dark to Kansas.
I was a young military wife in the late 80's and had a toddler. These were great lullabies for him. I have always loved them too. He is grown and prefers rap but knows the lyrics to every song I used to play with him on those long trips.
ADogg I saw this band at an ampitheater in Atlanta. I had always love this song best of all they did. I think it so beautiful I sing it everytime can't help myself it's so calming. And btw they sounded even 10 xs better in real life💯🧡🧡🧡
I Love your reactions, I Love that you are young and listening to music from the 70's and appreciate and love all kinds of music. We lived FOR our music. So it's great you watch you. Very Cooll.
We had all kinds of things in music show up in the 70’s ….violin in this band. There’s a band with a flute too- Jethro Tull, rock band. This song is so beautifully written, the harmony is yummy. Classic Rock is full of talent….we didn’t have a lot of tech- you had to be good live, facts. ❤️🎼🤘😎🎶🎶🎶Carry on my wayward son- definitely next. Wondering if you’ve gotten to Pink Floyd yet…..definitely should ….gotta make sure you hear all the talented people 😊
This is one of my all time favorite songs. This is probably their most low key song. Carry On My Wayward Son is a must hear. Have you listened to any songs by the group Styx. Another one of my favorites.
Great reaction!! I just had 2 of my boys subscribe to your channel. You have to listen to “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas. One of the greatest rock songs of all time!!
Their Carry On Wayward Son is their other masterpiece. Steve Walsh the lead singer here is also the lead in Carry On as well as playing two instruments; jumping back and forth from one to another. That song tells yet another story of a man looking for purpose. You are doing a really good job, and so happy you are enjoying what a lot of us either grew up with or enjoyed as younger adults.👍👍
Who ever gave you a thumbs down needs a ass kicking lol, you're a great person and a Kansas is a great band! Enjoy your experience and remember don't just hear the music, feel it!
This is honestly my favorite song by this group (and one of my favorite songs of all time.) They definitely have some other good ones too though! You should check out "Carry On Wayward Son" when you get the chance.

I’m 63 and have never stopped listening to new music and loving more of it than I thought I would. THIS song makes me feel sad but peaceful and though I’m not religious, it helps me face my end without worry. It’s a beautiful song I’ve enjoyed since it was released. 🥰
I think you were just born too late but your catching up and I’m so glad to see a great young person appreciate my music I’m 72 and still listen to all of it Thank you for putting it out there. 👏👍💯
If you want Mad Vocals, Please React to: Point of no Return!! And live performances will blow you away. The musicianship of Kansas is perfection at its best.

“All your money won’t another minute buy” is my favorite lyric in that song. Definitely do “Carry On My Wayward Son” next. It will blow your mind.
