Since this video is getting a bunch of views out of nowhere i just want to say that while i had a bad experience in the city, i understand that is a very narrow slice of what bakersfield really is. I played up my dislike of bakersfield in this video, but i know every city has its dark side and i'm sure the whole city isn't like that.

As someone who was raised in Bakersfield, I spent the first 10 minutes of this video confused like "He's definitely in CA but where?"
The part of Bakersfield where the trainyard is located is a verrrrrry bad part of town. Truly neglected. And from the sounds of it, the bus took you down Union Ave which is historically our town's center for bad deeds. Had you been able to camp more towards the orchards in the northwest side of town or something you probably would have had a much better time.
Crazy cool video, given our law enforcement's attitude towards the unhoused, I'm glad to hear you made it in and out of town safely and I just subbed so I can watch more of this journey!

@@danielschear556 I couldn’t tell ya. What I can say is it’s really funny how non-Californians will comment on our large unhoused population cuz growing up in CA, you never meet an unhoused person who’s actually FROM here. They’re always from like Texas or Michigan or Indiana or something

Now you can walk west on truxton ave to the west end which is where you grab northbound trains. If it's IM double stack it will get you to atleast Stockton, if it's junk, you could go alot of places including long distance. If you walk east on truxton to summer that will dead end at union Pacific yard. Edison is a right you can take and that will follow the yard on west side. Trains there will likely be better.
