Poor people pay the most money for everything. Example - having to buy a cheap bike and then unable to fix it. Unable to fix a car after 1 week. Stoves, backpacks, cigarettes, unhealthy food. Money down the drain.

    Man
    I was a locomotive engineer.
Get and used a military backpack. For decades good quality cheap and useful.
Just built one up few months ago for less than $50.
    Bag was $25 off eBay
And I picked up a water bottle and a couple of those pouches used, and a butt pack pouch.
They got the MOLLE attaching hardware to weave the pouches into the bag.
I use it now for overnights, weekends hiking and camping.
I had a ALICE pack before.
Enjoy the new one more (made maybe-2006) area I bought used-military. Shoot I could give you my old Alice pak if interested.

Honestly, i subscribe and watch and cringe.. there is something to be said about laziness. And the universe is coming down on us all the same. Keep learning, adapting. Do not get in the habit of excusing a failure because of lack of knowledge, be a problem solver. Its there, dig deep for it. Don't make excuses for yourself, own that shit. Enjoy your time out, be positive, realize your capable, define your expectations and stay focused. Your brain is the best tool you have. Impress it.

I've hitchhiked a lot in my life. 101 was the funnest, except for Coos Bay. I found out that carrying bags and holding out your arm is exercise. When I got where I was going, my muscles were so soar, I could barely lift my arms up. My favorite is a rolling backpack, with a built-in chair. I could sit on it and hitchhike. You are going to have a tough time with that bag. I wish I could send you mine, but it would be too late. If you can, get a rolling backpack. I love to smoke. Lol What about getting new tubes for the tire? I love sleeping outside in the desert. Anywhere really. Happy travels. Best to you. Things have a way of working out, as long as you don't do bad things. Do good and good things have to happen, eventually.

Nicotine blue, the chemical they spray/soak tobacco in, is a horribly addictive drug. But, what's insidious about it is the sneaky way it gets some people. You may think, oh it will be years before it gets to my health; and yeah I have watched quite a few friends die so awfully painfully from different kinds of cancer. Lung cancer, my best friend, age 36 , throat cancer, esophagus cancer, but the one that really got to me was how long the kid that got mouth cancer lasted. He was only 23 and only began smoking like 6 months when he got diagnosed. The thing was, he couldn't stop smoking, not that it really mattered, but he lived in worsening pain, that progressively increased as the amount of his face rotted off. I won't describe anymore of its visual effects, but I will say he couldn't even smoke anymore when about half his lips fell off, he stopped eating a week or so before that.... it was bad, real bad, so kids, don't smoke..... ANYTHING!!!!! Bro, as far as your cdl, get your cdl b first, because the cdl a is the worst possible job for a guy like you, please believe me. Think of it as a giant bicycle you're responsible for, and nobody cares about you, in fact people hate you cause you slow them down. Even new trucks break, often, especially the ones they give beginners. Once you get your license, that's the easy part, but you won't think so. But, after that, schooling just begins, if you can make it through the first five years without killing a bunch of people, or yourself, you BEGIN, to feel more comfortable with figuring things out, but, that's when the job gets harder, as you will then be assigned routes into horrible stop and go cities, with maddening schedules there's no possible way you can keep them. You will feel like you are going backwards financially, and because you have a small familiarity driving trucks, you will start taking chances, for alot of reasons, too make up time, to try and make an impossible schedule, and you will increase the chances of killing a bunch of people or your self, or, get locked up, for a dangerous truck, bad books, tires, equipment you missed on your daily inspection. Bro , you are going to hate trucking. Despite what most people think, it doesn't pay you to see the country, you'll be to busy or stressed for any of that, plus, that cab, becomes your painful little jail cell, people point guns at you on the road, hijackers might get you. And then there's the cops, tickets, nit picking ball breakers that don't know the first thing about trucking. It used to be good, about 50- 60 years ago, but it's bad, bad as smoking, don't do it!!!!!

Don't go out alone at night into the Superstitions. There are weird monsters out there. Not kidding. People have disappeared. Also if you go west about 15 miles in Gilbert there are lots of nice straight bike lanes to ride in. Flat and easy. Also be aware there are giant snakes out in the mountains - some over 8 feet. And packs of Coyotes.

Hold on there. Get to auto parts place, buy what is called Slime. It comes in different size bottles. You might find it in the bike section of Walmart. To use this stuff, all you have to do is remove the valve core from the inflation port. The bottle comes with an input tube and valve core removal tool in the cap. You squeeze in about 1/4 cup through the plastic tube. Remount your tire and tub on the rim, turn the wheel. Re inflate, and you are good to go. Put slime in both tires. There is really nothing to working on a bike. All you have to know is a screwdriver from a wrench. You will do well.

First of all, bike tire repair kits have gone to shit but, lots of glue on the tire. Additionally the tire has to be clean. I suggest the highest % of rubbing alcohol available. Lastly the patch has to be rolled. They use to include them in a tire patching kit back in the day. Idk about now. I think they just want you to buy a new tube these days instead of fixing the old one. Hope this helps. Peace.

There are some free options for CDL training. Getting hired without experience is still difficult.
Insurance companies require a number of hours exp before they will cover you. Still a good choice, just don't expect to get your license and start driving the US alone. There are many companies eager to take advantage of new drivers. Construction driving can be a good way to start. Good luck to you. Employment counseling was my job for about 30 yrs. Happy to help, if you have questions, etc. Take care and good luck.

Listen man, I've suggested this before but will say it again. I think you should consider joining the Marine corps. I was a Marine and can tell you it isn't that bad. You don't have to join the infantry if it's not your thing. There are plenty of "office jobs", motor transport, logistics etc.
The Marines will give you some time to figure things out with your life. They will train you and give you a paycheck/benefits and pay for school when you get out. Plus there are plenty of veterans benefits too. The reason they call the USMC uncle Sam's misguided children is because it's full of guys who are in the same situation as you. It's four years, most of that is spent in training and if you don't like it, it will be over before you know it and can then go to school.
Boot camp with cure your depression too, you will come out in the best shape of your life. Now is the time to do it while you are still young. Stay motivated man.

Also for tires: on the rear get a heavy duty mtn. bike tube such as Goodyear or Blackburn and a CST heavy duty mtn. bike tire. For the front get a new 1.75" rim and put a Vee narrow mtn. bike knobbed tired on it with a slime self-sealing tube. The Vee tires are indestructable and incredibly hard. Around AZ there are all kinds of burrs and thorns and they will pop most normal tires in a second. The Vee knobbed tires are dense, hard rubber, and last forever. You can go years without a problem.

Bruhh…just grab a new tube lol, literally only a few bucks and most places carry them on hand. You’d waste more money on patches cause they’re only going to last for so long. And they sure aren’t meant for riding cross country that’s for sure. Should’ve kept a few tubes in your pack if biking was your new mode of transport, almost the equivalent to a spare tire on a car. Not exactly but you get what I’m saying. Hopefully…anyway Especially cross country, youd had to know you’d be getting flats going long distances over different types of terrain. The whole hitchhiking thing is so 1970s. I believe you missed your opportunity.

    • @hobolupo7750
      @hobolupo7750 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

People hitchhike all the time. I'd even argue people do it more these days than in the 70's. Keep in mind the world population has more than doubled in that time. Look at how many people follow channels like this. I mean this one is still small but look at Ran Out On a Rail. Granted he's a train hopper but it's more or less the same people interested in both of these things. Look at how many people follow Hitch on Twitch. And then consider those people who follow these channels are just a tiny fraction of the people out there doing it. What I'm saying is that there's still a big interest. People still do it. I know because I do it, so I'm not speaking outside of my lane here. The only people missing opportunities are the ones sitting in comfortable armchairs in their comfortable homes being negative in comment sections because they're bitter about how their lives turned out or they're scared to live, so they try to discourage others from living.
If he's not having luck hitching, he's not in a good spot. Also he's new at this, and there's a learning curve. Don't believe that, then go watch Hitch on Twitch. He's having no troubles getting rides. So it's the way it's done, not the era we're in. I can tell right out the gate Techno Hobo is missing some elements to his hitching. You need a sign. It doesn't matter if it just says "north" you need a sign. Billboards capture the eye, that's why they're still up and businesses still pay loads of money to advertise on them. A thumb doesn't cut it. Also.. is he wearing sunglasses? Does he know not to wear sunglasses? Is he wearing the wrong colors? Because all of these things factor in. If he's wearing a red shirt that will illicit the idea of danger to people, without them even realizing that notion was put into their head from the color red on his shirt. You wear blue, it illicit feelings of trust in a person.
Is he smoking cigarettes? Does he look dirty. Is he frowning? Does he have a ton of gear with him. Us he on an onramp that has a long stretch of shoulder beyond where he's standing that gives drivers a lot of time to pull over safely? Does he have a visible knife on his hip? Is he giving up after 20 minutes? There's so many factors that will dramatically change how likely you are to get a ride. Give him time. If he keeps at it he'll get it dialed in and you'll see how relevant hitchhiking is these days.

Aren’t hobos primarily train riders? You’re missing the mark completely not just the opportunity.

@Techno Hobo This is the comment I replied to fyi. How is this comment not negative? I pointed out why it's negative and why it's wrong. You've left this negative comment and deleted the one I left here saying why it's not a missed opportunity and why it's not just some 70's thing. I don't get it but hey.. it's your world. Peace.

Welp, I used to follow this channel. This may have been a channel that I would have shared/promoted/funded. But you keep deleting my comments. I haven't said anything bad about you or anyone else. I commented at the guy telling you hitchhiking was so 70's and I simply explained that he's wrong and gave reasons why he's wrong. This also isn't the first time you've deleted my comments on your videos. But it's whatever, that's cool. Stay safe. Good luck in the future. See ya.

I'm tempted to remove this one too, but i'll respond instead. I don't want negativity in my comment section. Useful criticism is fine, but when i see someone straight up insulting me, i delete it. I don't remember what you said specifically, but i garuntee it wasn't as innocent as you're trying to make it seem

@@technohobo I guarantee I did not insult you in any way whatsoever. I subscribed to you for a reason. I liked the channel and I liked what you were doing. Maybe you should take a little more time reading the comment before deleting it. I'm 100% certain I didn't bring negativity to the comments. In fact, I was responding TO someone that was being negative. He was basically saying give up on hitchhiking, it's so 70's. I pointed out that it's definitely still a thing, and possibly done more now than back then since the population has more than doubled since then. That person was being negative, and you left that comment. I don't get it dude, but it's whatever. I don't need to be a part of this channels community. I'd like to, but you've deleted all but this comment and for literally no good reason, I can guarantee you that. Maybe you take things the wrong way and apply the wrong tone to a text, idk. It ain't on me though. Again, best of luck to you and your channel. Safe travels.
