    Hey man, looks great, & sounds good too. Nice one! I have 8 Hercules Hangers myself, 2 wooden base & 6 metal base, absolutely can't be beaten. Those spring toggles are great... until you need to unscrew them for whatever reason. Then the spring toggle verey helpfully falls down into the wall cavity. Back when I used to install PA systems into various entertainment establishments many years ago I was introduced to what are sold as "Hollow Wall Anchors" here down under in Australia. A similar idea where something clamps on the other side of the wall in the wall cavity as a spring toggle does, but with these they also have a collar/flange/whatever-you-wish-to-call-it on the same side of the wall as yourself thereby clamping that whole bit to the wall, you can undo them & screw them back in as many times as you please.
    I realise that you really shouldn't have a need to unscrew your hangers, but maybe this bit of information can be helpful for someone else, maybe even for your good self sometime in the future.
    Love your work, rock on! \m/

      How thick are the hollow wall anchors you’re using? Have your guitars stayed on the wall. I’m a little nervous hanging my guitar purely from the plaster.

    Perfect timing. I have been looking at wall hangers recently and the Hercules had caught my eye. Will certainly get hold of some now - thanks for the recommendation. Nice studio!

    Don’t talk about it, be about it. Com’on man, this tutorial would be spot on if you actually showed everyone. On a positive note, that’s a dope studio. Love the orange paisley tele!

    Great work mate, can't be too careful when it comes to the safety of your beloved guitars.

    Looks great! I did drywall and build houses for many years but drywall for 20, I went around and added two by tens between the two by four walls so you had backing all the way around the room from the ceiling you just measure down did a lot of sound rooms for people this way you could hang anything from where you put the two by tens all the way around the room. Anyways yours looks great to

    had 3 for about 6 years now... they are great... and yeah one time I came home to realize one of the screws came out because of a user installation error... my guitar was hanging by a screw but didn't fall before i got there.

    I did drywall back in the day, drywall is heavy but weak, a drywall saw is a pretty cool little thing, you punch it in the wall and you can saw sharp angles and curves etc.,

    Not over-engineered at all. Hercules hangers are the best. The whole studio is fantastic. As for the number of guitars, the formula is simple. It’s the number of guitars you currently have + 1 😂😂😂

    Your studio looks great. I have just ordered one with a metal plate instead if the wood.
    These spring clips are very strong my daughter is a photographer and I used them to install a heavy backdrop into the drywall.
    When watching your video it looked like you had quite abit of your new bolt sticking out after the spring clip opened (before you tightened it) so you may have got away with the original bolt.
    You could have given it a try worst case if you couldn't push it in far enough to open you could have just removed the screw and poked it through into the cavaty with a screw driver. You would lose the spring clip but they are only a couple of dollars each.

    Good information, cheers! Coincidentally I was just starting to look around for something that would do exactly this.

    I had a fender branded wall hanger which broke off its its spot weld ! Make sure the bolt goes through the back plate .

    Did you have to do any wangling to get the 8 string to fit in these at all?

    • @LeviClay
      @LeviClay  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, they come with spacers that I keep on for 6 strings and as the posts under the spacers are foam they have enough give to take an 8 string

    At 0:18 ... so where is that video? You've done a ton of work and spent a small fortune constructing a soundproof room, but you haven't shown us it being soundproof yet, which is kind of bizarre.

    • @LeviClay
      @LeviClay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because, and go with me on this.... I didn’t do all the work and spend all the money for the sole purpose of pleasing TH-cam commenters... I did it so I could have my amp on loud at 2am when I’m teaching guys in the US....
      My goal is complete. If you’re frustrated by it, I don’t know why to tell you.

    Hey man, how thick of your wall absorbers?

    • @LeviClay
      @LeviClay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      However thick the Gik panels are. I assume you mean the panels rather than the actual walls?

    • @chikrumba
      @chikrumba 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeviClay no, actually panels themselves, I have addicted sound pannels with 6cm thickness, so I would like to understand which sort of length of the hanger I can use.

    Makes me feel like a idiot lol I've always just assumed you had to screw them into the wall studs. This also makes me happy because now I know how to hang up my guitars the way I've always wanted

    • @LeviClay
      @LeviClay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh you absolutely can do that! And that will give you solid results. It’s not ideal in my situation though as my walls are supposed be separated from the studs with isolation clips. That absorbs vibration and stops sound getting through.
      So screwing things into the studs would give me a mechanical connection between them again and result in compromised sound proofing

    • @robertbrown1778
      @robertbrown1778 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LeviClay Yes, would defeat the object of those fancy acoustic clips if you're going to screw dirty great soundboards (guitar bodies) to the studwork. :)
      But knowing what you know now, would you have screwed batons to the backs of the dry wall to screw the hangers into before installing?
      Also, can you go into what you did for air-conditioning at some point?

    • @LeviClay
      @LeviClay  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s actually a really interesting solution! I might have done that!
      And I installed a 2 way split air conditioning unit, you can see it when I plan around the room IIRC

  • @Killergoat69

    Sorry but I’m hearing stories that the metal tube in these Hercules mounts, will last about 1 year before snapping. Nothing to do with installation. Anybody want to confirm this?
