    4:16 You are correct, and this show would eventually get there. However, keep in mind this is the first episode and the writers were still trying to figure out what they wanted the show to be. Also, Family Guy was cancelled when the first half of the season was written, which is why a lot of the humor is similar. It's after Family Guy was revived that the writers of American Dad thought about going in a different (and much better) direction.
    Also, good catch on the lack of Winter Olympics in 1986. I believe the Summer and Winter Games weren't offset until 1994.

      Then 3 weeks later you're entire house is filled with infinitely multiplying donuts. Within the year you're entire neighborhood is overrun by the donut flood, then the surrounding towns, cities, states, the country, then the sea begins to fill up... Eventually a random alien flying through space sees a planet completely covered by strange mass that upon closer inspection are quadrillions of strange ring shaped objects that in some places are massive masses of mush. He spends his entire life trying to decipher this mystery, thinking it was some insane natural disaster, or perhaps some strange disease, then he thought perhaps that the masses WERE the life forms of that planet. Theory after theory was made, with no real conclusions reached, until at last the alien expended his natural lifespan, and in his honor for his dedication to study one of the galaxy's greatest mysteries, they renamed the planet after this alien... Named Do N. Ut, a shame they didn't figure out what happened to that planet

      *Item #:* SCP-871
      *Object Class:* Keter
      *Special Containment Procedures:* Each recurrence of SCP-871 is to be maintained within a separate, locked concrete cell on a metal platter permanently affixed to the surface of an immovable wooden table. Each cell housing a recurrence of SCP-871 is to be monitored on a 24-hour basis via closed-circuit camera, with individual feeds checked every 15 minutes.
      Upon creation of an instance of SCP-871, 3 Class D personnel are to be escorted by armed guards to its cell, where they are to be sealed with the instance and induced to consume it. No more than one hour may be spent performing this task. In cases where additional motivation is needed, the termination of one of the Class D personnel assigned to an instance of SCP-871 is authorized. Upon completion of the consumption of an instance, no participants may exit the cell until both they and the room have been thoroughly searched to confirm that no portions remain. The platter, table, and room are then to be cleaned in preparation for the next instance.
      Class D personnel who prove cooperative in the consumption of an instance of SCP-871 may volunteer to participate in additional consumptions. Personnel exhibiting exceptional usefulness may have their monthly termination postponed. Such personnel are under no circumstances to be allowed to interact with any other SCP object.
      No desserts of any kind are to be served on-site at any facility housing a recurrence of SCP-871.
      *Description:* SCP-871 is a collection of 237 cakes. Instances of SCP-871 vary widely in appearance and size, covering the entire range of foods described by humans as "cake". The smallest observed instance of SCP-871 was a miniature cupcake with a mass of 15 grams. The largest yet observed was a 22-kilogram baumkuchen measuring 2 meters in length.
      When any instance of SCP-871 is consumed by a human or a collection of humans, it is replaced approximately 24 hours afterward with a similar cake. This cake will appear on a flat surface in the vicinity of the location where the previous instance was eaten. If any of these cakes is substantially damaged through any means other than being eaten by a human, including being eaten by a non-human animal, it will be replaced instantaneously. Instances recreated in this manner maintain the schedule of the original instance. The mechanism by which instances of SCP-871 are replaced is currently unknown.
      Individual recurrences of SCP-871 have been observed to "mutate" over time, varying in minor characteristics between each instance, with larger changes occurring in roughly 5% of replacements. No deleterious effects have been observed to result from the consumption of SCP-871, even in cases where several instances have been consumed, excepting those expectable from eating large amounts of cake.
      SCP-871's danger originates in the consequences of an instance not being eaten. Any instance of SCP-871 which is not consumed will cause a new cake to be created in its vicinity after 24 hours. While this is similar to its normal "replacement" behavior, the original instance will continue to exhibit the same properties, replicating if damaged and continuing to "replace" itself every 24 hours. This behavior has been observed in all cases where more than 10% of the mass of an instance remained unconsumed. As there is no known mechanism for halting SCP-871's replication, any uncontained instances could replicate exponentially, quickly becoming unmanageable. No maintainable plans for the containment of more than 20,000 instances of SCP-871 have yet been devised. It is estimated that an uncontrolled outbreak originating with a single instance would render the earth uninhabitable within 80 days.

      @@goodnewsgeek42 Honestly I feel like we're in a burnout phase of creativity/ambition from Cinemasins and Screen Junkies. Back in 2014 they're all trying to expand and do all these unique installations, Jeremy did Conversation With Myself and Carpool Reviews and Dear Hollywood. SJ did Roasts, Movie Fights and now it's just: Honest Trailer/Reaction. CS did What's The Damage and the Gourmet Food thing...and now Cinemasins is just like "I'll admit this is a great scene and worth a sin removal but: Why is that guy turning on the ceiling fan? I'm not hot. Something something college girlfriend instead of lapdance joke crutch. ding" I wish it felt like they were still trying to have some effort and fun with it. they should be more liberal about removing sins, at this point. Drop the facade of pretending not to get jokes. Idk

      @goodnewsgeek42 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@a.KniteOwl I get what you're saying, the sins were definitely more creative a while ago. Not that there aren't good ones now, but on this channel (and with this narrator) particularly, I feel like they phone it in, especially when the sin is just "wah wah this joke offended me >:(" "this comedy is doing joke wrong way and it's offensive, shame on them! :(" "I'm biased against this so I'm gonna make up things to shit on" like I get that's kinda the point of the channel but at the same time there definitely was more legitimate criticism earlier and you're right in that they give less credit back with sin removals when something's genuinely good about something.

    • @a.KniteOwl
      @a.KniteOwl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@goodnewsgeek42 Totally! Normally I wouldn't mind so much, but they have consciously altered themselves to distinct themselves from the playful "incel geek" vibe they may have had in the past, before it was a term. Like, they stopped making "lapdance" jokes because it didn't fit the moral tone of social media these days and appeared sexist. And in general they've tried to distance themselves from the incel vibe in the narrative of moral enlightenment and not wanting that negativity out there. They even go further with like "omg howcome there's a joke about Joey and Chandler not wanting to bang each other rahrrahahrahr it's 2019 for crying out loud." So there's once again this moral narrative they're subscribing to and doing unironically as if it's supposed to help society. It's like, trying to present CinemaSins as a sensitive and sane program promoting a better future and taking itself seriously. As if this is THEIR personal belief. But then they watch Rush Hour and just don't remove any sins for that, even though realistically they'd totally love it? It goes into the territory of promoting a sensitive attitude toward the current political landscape, but then also being unforgivingly unfair and petty. It makes their "sensitive" efforts come across as disingenuous virtue signaling or even just bland repetition of whatever the current trend is. And then it bleeds into their "petty" narrative as if we should all be morally annoyed that a comedy had a plot convenience in it.
      And all I'm suggesting for them is a quick fix. Remember their Mandalorian episode with all the sins removed for Luke? Even though they still added on so many more "logical" sins? Basically, if they get more liberal with the removed sins it will be a lot more enjoyable to watch, even as they retract the sins for obviously jokingly petty reasons. In the end, it could help people to act less critical of everything. And it would reflect on CinemaSins as having more heart and individuality, which they are trying to pretend they have in a certain way. This would be the natural evolution of that.
      Anyways, lol sorry that went on so long

    "grabbing the brass ring" is a common saying referring to going for the top prize, it's derived from a carnival game where a carousel has a ring dispenser where riders can grab rings, with one being the winning brass, and the rest iron or plastic. The phase has been used in a bunch of books, movies and songs.

    The brass ring is an old, kinda dangerous, carousel game. Anyone can just ride it, those who dare can grab "go for" an iron ring, but the brass ring is the highest prize. It's made cheap cause you're supposed to trade it in for prizes, but some people just keep it. Course, Steve might've been referencing Nixon too.

  • @randumo24
    @randumo24 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really don't think that deserves all those sins for Stan being worried about Steve being gay. Yes, normally it would be offensive in the average person. However, it is to be expected from someone like him. He is the exaggerated conservative stereotype. Treating someone like that irl is a sin, but Stan keeping in character isn't really.
