Just when I thought I was done spending money on folders for awhile, a blackout pm2 in Magnacut is released and in stock. I really shouldn’t be buying this but here it goes. Hi my name is Daniel and I’m addicted to knives. I need help.
I just received mine today 🥳 Instantly swapped the stock clip with a LynchNW DLC Ti. These Salt scales are nice & grippy too! Action is perfect right out of the box. 🍻
Nice! I ordered a MXG deep carry clip as well. I was surprised that the action is perfect out of the box cause my other one has some lock stick. They must have done something differently to this new batch.
Thank you for your review, I intend to purchase one. What I find most interesting - aside from the Magnacut - is the fact that they decided to leave the layer of Peel-Ply on the G10 slides. I think you gave a good description of how that feels.
Does it say DLC? I heard Eric Glesser talk about a new type of coating they want to use that has similar/better characteristics as DLC, but they want to do it in-house...
“Cloaked in a non-reflective Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, the PlainEdge blade is housed in a handle featuring peel-ply-textured black G-10 scales machined with the signature Caribbean Bi-Directional Texture pattern of Spyderco’s US-made Salt Series knives.” Yes. Here is what they say on their website about this knife.
Wait to snag this one yall! They are planning to release same configuration with their own version of a coating that’s apparently better and has more lubricity than dlc later this year
It’s not that it’s better and more lubricity it’s that it’s hopefully at least around as durable while having high lubricity while also being cheaper since it’s in house
I just ordered a magma salt mil 2. After ur review I like the titanium scales u put on the pm 2. Did u say that those scales make the handle shorter and more pocket friendly? I haven’t handled the pm2 yet but I chose it because I prefer a 3.5 inch blade or around that length.
I don’t know about making the handle shorter. But the titanium scales do make it more substantial and slick looking. The MXG pocket clip I added did make it easier to carry though. PM2 is probably my favorite Spyderco knife model. You won’t be disappointed.
I want it, but I dk if I want it for $250. There are so many awesome knives out there for $250. Spyderco simple construction and material does not warrant these prices. G10 and some stainless steel liners, come on!!
I just purchased one like new with great action and centering for $185. I like micarta and g10 so now I’ll have a micarta and g10 pm2 ha. What better materials do you like
It’s not as corrosion resistant as h2 and and just to give it a black out look I guess. Also now if you want black handles and satin blade you gotta buy 2 and swap parts so gotta spend more money with spyderco lol
@@sebastianniqvist3144 I used this HOTO Precision Screwdriver: a.co/d/dmDzn71. T6 bit for the clip screws, T8 for the body screws, and T10 for the pivot screws.
I received mine today, instantly swapped out the stock clip, went deep carry, changed out the lanyard tube, threw out the stock scales and replaced with carbon fiber, and replaced the blade with one made of CTS 204p.

Don’t we all. 😂 I am with you, Daniel.
Yeah Man I just preordered the black Manix 2 salt in Magnacut at bladehq.i just hope I don’t have to wait 6 months to a year
I got my PM2 Salt almost 2 weeks ago and I love how it feels and the way the scales are designed. Great video, thank you for sharing.
Thanks. I am glad you like it.
My favorite pm2 too date hasn’t left my pocket!!!
Yeah. It's my favorite PM2 as well. The blackout look plus the magnacut blade is just perfect.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad that you find this video helpful. I would definitely recommend this version. You won’t be disappointed.
That will be my next Spyderco. Great-looking knife!
Thanks!

The first run will be DLC.
Just got mine today pure perfection
@@warroomEDC it’s perfection indeed
It looks thiner behind the edge than the ordinar one.
Yeah. I felt the same way. It cuts better as well.
@@TJ_EDC_Life cool, thanks
Wait to snag this one yall!

where do you get the extension for your lock button? trying to hook up my pops PM2
@@RuckusRugs you mean the little tab on the lock bar, right? It’s from OCD4EDC CME. Google it.
Can you put the pocket clip on the other side
@@fotiosvasileiou3617 yes, you can. It works on both sides.

Mine has not held a edge very well.
super nice this is going to be my next
@@DHEAD_EYE you won’t regret it. Super nice indeed.
I hope they offer it in the para 3 and Military as well.
I hope they do. I ‘d love to have a para 3 with magnacut steel and that scales in my collection.

Buy one and try it out yourself. If you don’t like it, return it. But I think you won’t regret it.
@@TJ_EDC_Life Nah, if it was like $180, i would pull the trigger. But $250 is absurd for a pm2.

I have both the salt and a crucartta the salt is better

Thanks. Peace.
Why would you coat CPM Magnacut!? 😳

Why is it called SALT? What does it mean anyone?

Great knive
It is indeed. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Its stupid expensve in eu atm
How much?
Maybe see if you can find someone on bladeforums or somewhere who is willing to ship to eu at your expense. Idk how much that costs tho
Great looking knife.
Please change the auto focus option on your camera. It is annoying constantly zooming on and off focus.
Sorry about that. Thanks for the advice. I will make sure it’s turned off next time.
Hello! What is the setup you have on the first customized PM2 you showed? Looks amazing
That one has Flytanium titanium scales and lanyard hole plug, MXG deep carry pocket clip, and OCD4EDC CME(Compression lock made easy)
