I hope we're going to see some new offers from the Canadian banks upon the launch of this card. This card destroys TD and CIBC'S Aeroplan cards in my opinion. The fact that they offer 25K status right off the hop, as well as the better multiplier and bonus points for 99 bucks a year...kind of annoying as we pay huge dollars for similar benefits. If a Canadian was to get this card will you be able to link a Canadian Aeroplan account or would it be separate? Thanks for all the great vids!!
@@jvermette09 But if the US CC application/residence is a US address and the aeroplan is your actual home/Canadian address, will they "catch" on? Is it worth using a new aeroplan that uses the same address as the CC?
My wife and I were looking for an Aeroplan card with a US bank since we moved down here 4 years ago (as we used to travel back and forth so often, and plan to again soon), and here this is... perfect! Thanks for the rundown and your other vids on getting us up to speed on Aeroplan points. We live in the SF Bay Area, and I was looking for flights we might take in the future and noticed that when I was looking at flights from San Francisco to Maui, that if you book on points, the United Flights only offer Economy seats, nothing in business class and presumably no eUpgrades. Second, if you were to try and book with cash, that you cannot actually book an inter-US flight without using points. Also an interesting point to note is that if you get a second card for a spouse as an authorized user, they do not share your 25K status as part of a Aeroplan family. Apparently you do with the Canadian Credit Cards, but not this US version- perhaps sometime soon.
for Canadian residents using this card to spend in Canada, I'm assuming the charge would be converted to USD and therefore when I make my payment to this card it'll have to be in USD currency?
Previously with Amex Platinum you could buy a business class ticket and get the second business class ticket for free. Does any credit card offer this?
Will this promo card be issued if i previously was awarded a Canadian Visa via TD in 2020 and have an existing aeroplan account. But, no longer have the visa account opened in 2020. I believe Chase may limit if you had a prior visa card that earned aeroplan miles? but unsure the cut off date. Great info!!!!! thank you.
Hey Ricky, You are the best in Credit card business. Hands down. Im in America and watch your video more than any. One thing that everyone asking, do we really get 25k status till 2023 even if we apply now? I don't see it anywhere in offer details... Most of people here saying do not apply now and wait till 2022. Im dying to apply for this one! Thanks!!
What’s a good choice for a 1st card for someone in the us? Someone with a very limited budget that would like to travel within the us, at least until i get in a better financial position.
Thanks to you Ricky I got my first us amex credit card. I was wondering how you pay your bills for the us cards? As someone who mostly operate in CAD, are their cost saving tricks that you use to pay the bills or do we just have to pay the fx fees from the banks?
Hey Prince, whats going on with AirCanadas Maple Leaf lounge, i was recently traveling to London UK and got access to the international lounge at YVR with my TD infinite card however on my return to YVR they wouldn't let me into the domestic lounge on my layover to YCD. They told me my ticket would say if i have access or not because my Aeroplan number is linked to all my cards? this sound like a great system but theres no way aircanada could pull that off. On a side note the ladies at Heathrow gifted my and a friend into the lounge because it was Christmas eve.
I'd go for economy latitude + eUpgrades (aka Latitude Attitude) because the business class pricing would most likely be dynamically high. But if you can find reasonably priced business class seats, go for that
As a US person living in Canada, I'm interested in how this will play together with the TD Aeroplan VI Privilidge Card in providing benefits similar to that of Chase Sapphire Reserve, but being specific to experience in Canada & flying with Air Canada. Also, having annual rollover for up to 50 eUpgrades and 200k SQM towards maintaining elite status from the Chase Aeroplan card for those that don't travel as frequently in a year, but can meet that US$15k spend in 2023 & onwards.
On a Aeroplan award flight, If I take a United connecting flight from US to YYZ and fly Air Canada business class to Europe would I still get preferred pricing if I hold this card?
Can you keep "rolling" the status benefits without flying? E.g. 25K status automatically, spend $50k in 2022 so you would get 35K status. Then spend $50k in 2023 and get 50K status and so on all the way up to super elite?
The term says you get 25k status the year you open your card and the following year... so does that mean we should wait until January 2022 to open the card so we get 2022 and 2023? If you open it in December 2021, you lose a whole year of 25k status right?
@@PrinceofTravel Waiting for that video ! I already have a Chase (CSR) from US and just got Canadian TD Aeroplan, now I'm thinking if I should go for this (I did get on the wait list but haven't made up my mind if I want to get this or not). Will wait for your video !
They do not expire as long as you are a Chase Aeroplan WEMC Holder. Do note: Immediately after your card is cancelled, the flight rewards will be removed from your account.
Thanks so much for your video. And the video you made a couple of months ago that really helped to solidify that this deal was going to happen. I’m very grateful. I got my email. I signed up and was approved. And I got my 25K points already in my aero plan account! It’s going to be a great card to add to the wallet and I’m looking forward to the incentives and the offerings that are coming with it. I’ve got some mileage points on my account I’m looking forward to take advantage of some free trips for a change up to the great White North. But what I did not sign up for was the 8 to 10 telemarketing phone calls that started the day I applied and have not stopped for the last week!! What did you do Chase sell my phone number to everybody from Ohio to Washington so I don’t know where?

Very tempting offer indeed! But for the free status part, the website says "automatic Aeroplan 25K Status for the remainder of the calendar year, plus the following calendar year". Which to me sounds like if I apply now (Dec 2021), I'll only get Aeroplan 25k status till end of 2022 and not 2023. Am I missing something?
Does the auto 25k status mean we get 20 eupgrades +5 additional from select privileges +10 for wait list bonus for a total of 35 eupgrades?? I hope so.
@@PrinceofTravel Now I just have to figure out how to meet all this spend. I also got the Amex Platinum +3 MR referral bonus. I pretty much spend nothing on work travel anymore due to this pandemic
what an absolute slap in the face this is to the Canadian CC market. Idk why we let them take us for a ride. Chase realizes that most Americans don't care about having status on a Canadian airline so they reveal this card with massive benefits
I spent 93k on the year and will miss 25k in canada stats on the spend side , and these guys are just giving away 25k to the US customers at Chase, how ridiculous and further I had several legs of travel in 2021 which made absolutely no difference as those legs did not combine with $ spend together with the $93k should have easily qualified me for 25k.
A Canadian company (Air Canada) offers much better incentives and benefits in the US instead of their homeland Canada...... Does it sound weird to you?! lol
Re: the 25k, the TD VIP had a promo this summer that give a status upgrade or 25k elite to non-status primary cardholders if you spent 10k between July and Nov 30 2021
yea but this offer went quietly in the night very unnoticeable I didnt even get any notification of this offer from TD. i missed the Canadian Aeroplan spend offer of $100k to get 25 k status by $7500.00 what a joke they make us spend 100k in canada and US chase they only need to spend 15k to maintain but get it immediately on getting the card.
Humble piece of advice: Basing your videos on Canadian audience, a large literally empty country of only 30M population is wrong. You’re a great articulate presenter. It's striking to see how due to no competition the big 5 banks have no incentive in rolling out such great cards in the Canadian market
Sad but true
All I want in 2022 is a decent Canadian Aeroplan Mastercard.
Me too!

Can you make a complete video of how to apply for this card for Canadians if they only have Canadian accounts right now ?

All Aeroplan accounts are equal, so yes it would link to your existing account. I agree, lots of 'grocery' spend will be going on this card for me
@@jvermette09 But if the US CC application/residence is a US address and the aeroplan is your actual home/Canadian address, will they "catch" on? Is it worth using a new aeroplan that uses the same address as the CC?
There's plenty of reasons why someone would have addresses in both countries, so there's nothing to "catch on"
