Just picked it up for $7 in the e-store, they are running a capcom sale! got this and Resident Evil Revelations for $8 and MH3 for $13. Good sale.
I got this for like 1.99.. in gamestop... I was going to spend it on a drink..
+Cristobal Snake that's cool. cuz 3ds games can be sold cheaply. no. not cool.
Just picked it up for $5
Think Its the same sale 6 years apart
Ofcourse the graphics suffer, the game comes from the ps3 and xbox 360 >_>Backgrounds will only feel wierd at the intro and ending of match but it may even help you concentrate without things moving around while in battle.
"Graphics Suffer" bullshit yeah the BACKGROUNDS aren't as animated as thePS3 and 360 versions but who in their right mind is looking at the NON-DESTROYABLE background during a tough fight in the graphics area this looks a hell of a lot better than Mortal Kombat 9 for Vita and this at the lowest should have gotten a 9.0 out of 10
Exactly this is literally a launch title granted Capcom has become BS as of late but still.
I got this when I was 7.
My first experience of Street Fighter that was truly my own will always be my favorite.
Too much fighting 5.7/10
Jamie Mcnulty um... the game is called SUPER street FIGHTER for a reason...
play some animal crossing then...
Gregory Montoya I was referencing igns pokemon omega ruby and alpha saphire review. Aperantly the reviewer thought the game had "too much water" so she gave the game a 7 point something. Just watch the review you will know what i mean and I was joking I have super street fighter 4 3d editon and its great.
Too much 3D 3/10.
Street Fighter but without the 'Fighter'...
Super Street IV 3D Edition
Skinny Jam super street is the name of a bmx game

I just picked up a 2ds xl and it isnt any more confortable then my 3ds xl. I listened 2 ur comment and now I have this xtra useless 2ds :(
@@agamemnon8163 not the xl the flat 2ds
@deviltetsuo555 It's actually more like they couldn't fit the background animations into 2GB of data. If they were using a higher memory card, they could make it look very similar to the 360/PS3 versions. Quit trolling.
CavemanFilms *pop*
When i was 7 i got my first 3Ds after it released, oh the nostalgia. I'm going to get this when school is out since I love Street Fighter as a whole. I don't really care about the graphics, just as long as it's a good game
This game should've also came out on the PSVita. Would've been really good to have
jack brian No we get every other fighting game BUT this. How retarded is that.
HEY THEY'RE THINKING OF PORTING STREET FIGHTER 5 ON PS VITA
And that's why the Vita is failing. Sad cause I have a Vita and was really hoping to would since they do have SF vs Tekken....
It wouldn't sell because the vita is dead.
Sad but true. Vita is dead....
I just got this along with my 3ds today (saved up for ages) and it's really good, the 3d really comes out in the special moves :)
My only problem is that it's pretty hard to do the ultra/slash super, where you have to do crouch/back(charge), crouch/forward, crouch/back, jump/forward with the circle pad. I really enjoy this game, and when nintendo decides to put that DLC up, arcade edition 2012 got to be DLC (and ultra costumes)
I read that Super Street Fighter IV 3DS can actually get up to 60 fps with the 3D turned off. Of course, this drops with the 3D turned on and too much moving objects in the screen (other than the two characters) could've increased the dropping fps as well. The graphics already look pretty intense with the characters performing their quick and ultra combos.
This and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max on PSP are the best portable SF games!
@the804punk Yes, and it works with a lot of other options for wifi as well.
Heads up, Games on sale right now. 7 bucks. Still has players online.
this is awesome!I'll give Super Street fighter IV 3D A 10/10!
I espically love the 3D versus!When does it come out?I havea 3DS,
so i gotta know so i can buy it.two questions.1:What stores do they sell it in?
2:how much money is it?Can't Wait till it comes out!Or has it already came out?I'm in 2013,so it mightve came out and i didnt know?Anyway great review!Cant wait!
Jujojo Anims the 3ds came out in 2011 and this was a launch title
Street fighter 4 was my FAVORITE fighting game ever but my ps3 broke and now not only can I play it again and retreave all my child memories but with MORE FETURES AND WHEREVER I GO!!! Like if you agree
@cobanermani456 I don't think that the reviewer takes off 1.5 points just because of the suttering. Rather, I believe that the score at the end is to rate the overall game. The list of pros and cons are just to state some noticeable points in the game itself.
I'm not sure of the actual rating system that IGN uses, but this seems a bit more "realistic" than having a direct connection between the score and cons that are listed.
@iminthenet2
They're only in the AE version as of now. I'm guessing once they're available on Consoles as DLC they'll sell Yun, Yang, Oni Akuma, and Evil Ryu on 3DS DLC too.
@SharinganLust Actually the producer of this game said he was impressed with the Demo. Plus, many developers have said that the 3DS is more powerful than the wii. If you look at the PICA200 GPU demo, you can see some graphical effects used in PS3/360 games such as Bloom lighting (I think), 3D shaders & Glasious object rendering (I think that's how you spell it). Correct me if I'm wrong on the effects.
Well, for those of you who keep complaining about the static backgrounds, this was probably done because they had to enable the 3D effect. After all, the 3D effect causes the fps to drop. I remember reading that game developers said that they could have done more without utilizing the 3D. But that would be counterproductive. The game looks very good, but I'm very surprised to hear that IGN was expecting it to be on par with the PS3/X-Box 360 versions.
Ever since Ryu became a dlc fighter for super smash bros, I have been quite intreged by the street fighter series. From that point, I wanted to play any street fighter game in the series. Any one of them. However, the want consisted of two problems: The only next gen console I own at this point is the Wii U, and a lack of cash, so buying it for the console version or PC would be a big issue. If I were to purchase the PC version, I would have to buy one of the large game pads to use, for i found out, from playing street fighter 2 on a website on my laptop, it is near to impossible to play a street fighter game with a keyboard. This game gives me the opportunity to expand in my interests in games, as well as learn about how a street fighter game feels like. Of course, every game will have its flaws, whether it be system limitations or bugs, but now I can experience street fighter on the go with my 3ds!
+superkylesixtysix in some months the snes street fighter will come to the 3ds, like Hyper Fighting and Alpha 2.
+Brian Silva tell me more
wii u is not a "next gen" console
It is a next gen console, if you are saying it is not because of the graphics(you are poor person then), most of the games have great graphics, and Mario Kart 8 looks way better than a lot of "next gen" games.
Those are now available in europe.
@FREAKFANATIC it is possible, but its not quite knowing if it will be confirmed yet. Yoshinori Ono, the producer replied to one of Ono's followers -an IGN writer- who said that if Arcade Edition Content would be coming to the 3DS version. Ono replied with this in a typical fashion: “Heheheeee. ;P”
@NightTaoretaDawn there is a huge difference between the rating system of a system and the games for it. they're grading the system by durability and tech specs while the games are by graphics, gameplay, music, replay ability etc.
2:41 Hadoken? I always thought it was Hadouken...
This reviewer does that annoying rising intonation thing. Does my head in.
"It's cool for a COUPLE OF ROUNDS?"
Grrr.
@SharinganLust I don't necessarily mean new system models. I mean once developers are more used to the systems power, they'll be able to almost match the 360 level of graphics.
@ 3:12 that shiny red guy looks so cool,
im getting the game for his awsome design
@SharinganLust
I think he's just referring to no background animations. Even minor static animations would be fine like in SSF2. Not dynamic animations like in the console version of SSF4, but simple animations that wouldn't require much processing at all.
Looks good enough to me.
only complaint about the review is that a port from a console to a handheld is going to obviously sacrifice some presentation issues
This game is really good! if anyone wants to get it, heres my review:
its a great edition to the SF series and the new touch system makes it even better for newcomers. the 3D is amazing! as soon as i found the menu, i could clearly see the 3D with Ryu and Ken!
+Great 3d effect and gameplay
+great controls
+Great look
- better if the backrounds moved, but tbh, that doesnt mean much
- if there were more unlockables, all the characters are unlocked, so its a shame cause i wanted a challenge
If you're gonna buy this game for the multiplayer mode, DO NOT.
Online players consist 99% of the time either Guile,E.Honda or auto block characters.
All of which spam thanks to their easy access to their special moves which DON'T require charges if used on the touch screen.
Thats true , the majority are just a bunch of losers thinking their the shit with their auto block and spamming Lite mode moves.
If you play online use Pro controls and use Custom Match use Control Type Same in the options you can bypass that.
@CathalOHara My mistake, didn't really pay attention to the "Super" included in the title lol
This was a great port from the console version if you consider the other attempts(SF2 on GB, Alpha on GBC, and Alpha on GBA). They all had to make huge sacrifices. The only sacrifice in this one is really the backgrounds not moving.
I want this updated to USFIV for 3DS... please Capcom!
This was in March. It's December now, so I think these bugs will be fixed. Anyone reading this still thinking about buying it should absolutely purchase this game.
@SharinganLust I never said the 3DS was more powerful than the PS3 & 360. I said it was close to the 360. Of course it will have some limmitations. But thats to be expected since a handheld is a system of it's own identidy. 3DS games in the future will look much better once developers mastered the graphics capabilities.
@Carlemone I don't think IGN really considers the competitive crowd. If they did, every competitive multi-player game would be getting 8's and 7's.
You are right, because if graphics are not used, we will be using squares to kill other squares.
@SpazSpazzAndSpazer The 3DS can output 360-esk graphics. But since the 3DS is a handheld only a few small compromises are made.
One of the stages is called Exciting Street Scene, but the backdrop isn't animated at all...
Really wish they make it for the switch
@Qeter1 hes saying the stage backgrounds are static, there is no animation at all.thats why the graphics suffer
How does it play on the New 3DS and or 3DS Xl with regards to the framerate?
If you deactivate the 3D in options you can play in stable 60 fps
SuperFrozee but what you forgot is it's handled and without glasses
@roralsampler The touch pad does not ruin the experiance because u can easily play others online who dont want to play with the touch screen either as long as u search to your prefrences. I find this game to be utterly awesome.
Humble Bundle, anyone?
exactly
A friend got the bundle and gave me the code for this game, but i do not have 13000 blocks left :(
I was thinking the samething
+Ronan John I enjoy a good Humble Bundle for 3D :D #moreplease
I'm down, what is your friend code?
People Complaining about the IGN review:
-Idiotic
-Don't realize that an 8.5 is a really good score
-Don't realize that all the reviews are very fair
-Don't understand what makes a game great.
When in my English class, i was writing down words to memorize, which one was ignorant. I spelled ign- in which someone tapped me on the shoulder to borrow a pencil. When i turned back, i realized i wrote ign. Then i spelled out ignorant.
I think it would have been better if they just did backgrounds without people/animals, just the buildings/props ect.
I know how you feel. If you are sick of Ryu noobs, then use Adon's "Jaguar tooth" move. It is extremely powerful and effective.
this is for ppl who dont own a ps3/4 like me lol
Why are you guys getting mad over reviews, I just don't get it. Does it really matter what someone else thinks?
Just got this game today, had to get used to the controls, but eventually it all became REALLY fun! :) I love the gameplay, especially online!
As Nintendo fan, I'm going to admit that the graphics did indeed suffer. Although, all for the better. But realistically, when I played, I payed no attention to the backgrounds, so it wasn't a problem for me. Believe me, when the 3D is on you barely notice them.
In any case, it's a solid port. Not perfect, but great for a handheld. And hopefully we see some better games later in the 3DS' life-span. This IS a launch title, guys.
hell the Graphics look way better than the home console version. And this is a hand held ign.
@Drakethatsme
Major game reviewers think or assume that just because it's on a handheld, they say it's like a watered down version of the console game. I think The game is great and its good to see some good fighters on the handhelds.
Finally, a review of a decent 3DS launch game.
I've got only one, simple question:
Yoshinori Ono said the 3DS version will have ALL CHARACTERS EVER.
Now...ARE EVIL RYU AND ONI IN IT????
@xbox3shity No it doesn't, the iPhone version has COMPLETELY 2D backgrounds. The 3DS has 3D backgrounds (albeit they're static)
No Ign, you very well know that the Arcade edition characters are notably absent.
They should have been there, it would make it the complete package.
Graphis did suffer that much I mean play with the 3D on and the ultracombos look amaizing!
@jacerockdoe you do not have super street fighters 3d it just adjusts the camrea for a better 3d affect and their is a figure fighting/slash collecting thing
I really don't get what Rich was going on with the "Graphics suffer" It's a PS3/360 game. This is a 3DS port. They look great and does the 3DS hardware justice.
This better come on the NGP, there's two analog sticks to use.
3D verses mode might as well have been called "Budokai Tenkaichi Mode".
Not a bad addition to the Street Fighter 4 series on Nintendo's only SF4 release.
@SharinganLust It happens with every console. Remember when the Wii was revealed, people thought it had last gen graphics. Now look at Wii graphics of today. Very few games unlock the full potential of a system at launch. And the 3DS is no ecxeption.
wow,i cant believe people are complaining even though they gave it an 8.5,which is a HIGH rating, jeez some people are so biased at times, its like reviews arent even alloud to deduct any points without getting spammed by immature haters, seriously guys, grow up
@goldensdomain plus add the fact that the backgrounds don't animate anymore, and this looks like a port of the iphone version
the graphics only "suffered" because IGN compared it to the console version. If it were me, i'd give it a 9.0 because the graphics are awesome for a portable version
@RaikouRyuk but it prevents the 3ds from using the included cradle. You have to buy another
Not possible. I also thought it looked pretty smooth, untill I turned off 3D in settings. Try it, it'll look alot smoother.
I love the 3 DS, but man couldn't they have made the screen a little bit larger
@tails86 I totally agree ign should just make whatever the gameplay gets in the written review the final score for the game
"the 3ds doesn't exactly have a stellar launch lineup"???
are you shitting me?!?! they are kickass!
As a 3DS owner I'd be happier with Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 or Street Fighter X Tekken :)
But yea, having Street Fighter 4 is awesome :)
Amazing what 3DS can do. This is clearly better that what PSP can do graphically. This is not far of the PS3/ Xbox 360 versions of the game. For a Handheld this is amazing!! Bought this as a launch title in 2011
Capcom did wonders with handheld fighters that generation. UMVC3 and SFxT on Vita looked and played amazing as well
They keep saying it isn't a perfect port but fail to say the issues. Graphics suffer? WTF?
I wanted to get one copy to play with my friend. does that work well, or does it restrict some characters and take other things away from it?
@ecode7 she saw it really well without her glasses (btw she dosent need them except for reading)
i just knew ign would complain about the static background
@adamepi8316 That, sir, is called Pro mode, You can change it in the options screen
i heard that each character has 3 costumes, now why on my SSF4 3D edition Ibuki, Makoto, Dudley, Cody, Guy, Hakan, Dee Jay, Adon, Juri and T.Hawk only have 2? do i have to unlock them? how?
Funny - the other day I thought to myself "I really like SSFIV, but I can't play it everywhere I go 24/7".
@GalickGun5078 well, this are the same people who gave Tatsunoko vs Capcom a complete minus point because they didn't know the tatsunoko charactes, so...what can we expect from them?
@c00lgUy48 dude, they gave it an 8.5, people don't realize that an 8.5 is a very good score
In theory the game should be fantastic, but the massive problem is the online play, and you can hardly blame Capcom for it. It's the fact that everyone you fight is a 5 year old mashing the Hadoken button on the touchscreen. Plus it lets people do impossible techniques because the touch screen buttons don't require charging and make it so everyone can do advanced techniques like standing 720s... And when online is where you spend most of your time in fighting games these days it sucks.
@taifhamid1 Super Street Fighter IV is also for Xbox 360 and PS3 and Nintendo already did make 2 new Pokemon games this year, Pokemon Black and White.
The framerate is actually awesome if you turn off the 3D on settings :P
that thing where the figures fight would be beast in a pokemon game
Who really needs the touch screen to do a quarter circle?
@ominousyoshi The graphics don't suffer, the frame rate does.
II've surprisingly met only two Special Spammers in the week I've been playing.
And I've yet to meet anyone that disconnects during the fight, actually.
But still, thank god for Lite/Pro filter.
GRAPHICS SUFFER??? Its like they are talking about a port from a PS3 to an Xbox 360. This is a Handheld so everyone should know that the graphics are going to have to be toned down but that shouldn't make it have a lower rating score.
And the Graphics look pretty nice to me.
my problem isn't the 6 button setting...its the stick
one's to loose to do dashes and pull of moves
other's to low and uncomfortable.....
I don't care what anyone says. This game is on-par with the other versions. Big deal if there are some missing shaders. Big deal! The game still looks amazing, and I'm sure the addictive gameplay on-the-go will still be appealing for many years! I want to note also that I look forward to the future of the 3DS.
