BUILDING Crazy HOT ROD FLOOR from Scratch! - With Very Special Guest!

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 8 ส.ค. 2024
  • On this episode we finalise the floor panels and clean up the sub structure. In preparation for welding, everything is finished off, the last panel is formed and put through the paces. Several holes later it is mocked into place to gage where the sub rails will connect too. One big step closer to channeling the body over those ‘32 rails. Was great to be working with good friend and metal wizard Karl, from Make it Kustom!

Digging the Austin hood. I would keep the side vents and have exhaust tip incorporated into them. It will take a lot of work to make it fit, but it would be unique and a real challenge, but you could do it,

Jordan that floor has turned into a piece of art it will be a pity to cover it up and I agree with your comments about Travis he does some amazing work in a very small space. That box you unloaded with the fork looks like it might be a CNC Plasma table ? Cheers Greg

Really like the Austin hood with hood doors. Yes extend that hood to frame rail. And do the belt line to match body. I’m thinking replace body belt line to match hood

Outstanding work mate. Love the coupé. You really don't see many of em much these days. I have a scale dicast model of one that belonged to my late father i never knew he had. Its a pale cream and brown color. I lobe these rods especially when done in old fashioned pastel colors or done on the patina look. I admire sheet metal workers and welders, they do what I can only dream of. Keep the awesome videos coming. Good morning from Queensland 👍

You must be throwing-in a lot of labor costs to make these hot rods affordable to your clients. When I see the detail and design that goes into your floors and frames (just to be covered up with even more beautifully sculpted panels) I wonder what the real cost would be if monetization weren’t taken into account. Doesn’t matter I guess when your talking priceless results. Fascinating watch yet again and you’ve left us wanting more alright!

    • @bennettscustomsco

That floor is absolutely remarkable! Love the way you almost used every "tool" in the shop, including Josh (drink)! Appreciate how the hot rod/fabrication community supports one another! It's amazing what Travis accomplishes in such tight quarters! Go Bennetts Customs and RAC, keep moving forward!

Did you make more than one floor kit? I was a bit surprised you guys tore up the template - if you only did a one off maybe you could consider making two or three next time and maybe sell them, would be easy to ship and I'm sure there are folks here that would love one of your floors in a kit format that they would fit and finishe themselves. Just a thought.

You should use magnets to hold your pattern down to the sheet metal. there a lot more reliable and cheaper then tape. Also you can use them more then once.
