Imagine if fate wasn't so cruel to Mary. If only her husband Francis lived long, and she had a son with Francis as a successor. If only she didn't find trouble with Elizabeth so she could live much longer. Thus, it was not impossible, she could become The Queen of Scotland, France, and England united. 😢😢😢
Queen of France and Scotland, I don't think England since it would take a war to subdue England and I don't think it can be done, Spain, the most powerful country at that time, tried and they lost, but England could only defend itself since when I tried to return the coup to spain they suffered a defeat even worse than the spanish so everything would be a draw until elizabeth died and named a successor that the closest was the son of maria.
wait why is everyone hating reign?? :( Reign bears no resemblance to history, the costumes are ridiculously anachronistic, more than half of the characters never actually existed, the storylines are insane, there isn’t a chaperone to be found, and yet, I love it...
You've just described the reasons why I hate it. Personally, I also hate Mary's character. She's the queen but she's such a crybaby. She cries in like every episode. She always whines about making tough decisions. Queens have duties. Like, if you wanna rule shut up and be ruthless. If not, go to a convent and cry there. Catherine de Medici is great though.

Have you ever seen Mary, Queen of Scots (1971) with Vanessa Redgrave? Although I don't agree with the usual romanticizing of her her relationship with Bothwell, I do think Redgrave is the best MQS. And Timothy Dalton is a fascinatingly sleazy Darnley; you can see why Mary was attracted to him in the first place but then she discovers his true nature. Plus it has the incomparable benefit of Glenda Jackson reprising her role as Elizabeth. I know Cate Blanchett has her admirers, but for me Glenda Jackson is the definitive Elizabeth. (The less said about the dreadful movie with Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie, the better.)
I have this thing where I can’t take any movies made before the 90s seriously. They just always feel too dramatic and unrealistic. I can’t really explain it
I can understand that in a way. I think the older a film or television program is, simply technologically it can strike a younger person as old-fashioned or not realistic. That's too bad, because then you miss out on some excellent work:)@@GalicianGranddaughter666
I agree, I didn't like how in most movies about Mary Queen of Scots that they portrayed her third husband Lord Bothwell as a "good guy" or "tragic hero." because he was so far from a hero character. In real life, many people believe he might had manipulated Mary on several things. He kidnapped Mary, he beat her, he raped her, and impregnate her with twins (but they died from stillborn).
I wish I could. But I know of no streaming services that have this. Unless you buy the DVD which sucks. I'm sure there's some illegal websites like put lockers or something. Or russian websites like odnoklasniki.
Mary Stuart was queen of Scotland and was married to the dauphin later king of france . But when he died in 1560 she arrived a year later in 1561 in her home country Scotland. She married two times until she was overthrown by protestant advisors. She had a son James (later James VI) with her second husband lord darnley. She went to England for help but was imprisoned because she was seen as a threat. She was imprisoned for 18 years until she was accused of plotting against Elizabeth (queen of england at the time) in 1587 she was executed at Fotheringhay Castle
One of the best tribute 😄

Oh Mary. You cannot outsmart Queen Elizabeth. Mary's ambition to the English throne led her to the scaffold aged 44
But her son reigned after Elizabeth died, so I'd call it a tie.
@@mak8680 I guess so but her life was lost during the struggles the Stuarts had to face to gain the English throne

Thank you for not including "Reign", that show was riddled with historical inaccuracies!
