Just tried this tonight on a.sunday evening.with some mature cheese think it needs the extra mature so just going back to the fridge, very nice indeed totally enjoying the Trappist Rochefort range, glad I ordered them all to try! Thanks again Mark great review as always!
I really enjoyed that review but now i want to enjoy the taste ! Ps have you tried Northern Monks ‘ stars n stripes ‘ peanut butter n jelly porter 6 % , £3 . I liken it to sweet black coffee
It's 'round $5.35 USD per 11.2 oz bottle Retail price. Tax included.over here. In a classy bar/pub? It's like $9.00 a snifter chalice. But yeah. Rochfort brings the goods. Fantastic 🍻.
Ok, then I'm sure your name is pronounced "Steppens" ... Doesn't make any sense, does it? No, Rochefort is a French name so the "ch" is pronounced like the English "sh" and you don't pronounce the "t". So it's more like "rosh for".
@Lennart Daniëls Yeah I know, but pronouncing Rochefort as "Rockford" is applying English logic on another language, which is very shortsighted. Especially when you say you're sure about it. It's like saying "Xi Jinping" with the "x" of xylophone because that's how you pronounce the "x" in English, while it's actually pronounced "Shee Jinping". You get what I'm saying? It's ok to make mistakes, but saying you're sure about it makes it much worse.
Imagine this happening 70 years ago
The 1950s Belgian hype would be hysterical
Great review Mark. Look forward to trying mine when it finally arrives.

I tried this but there are quite a few Belgian tripels I prefer. Right now my fav is the Paix Dieu.
Comparisons to other trippels?
La Chouffe? Duvel? Westmalle?
