Having ordered from SHEIN in a similar experiment, I think we can pool our experiences: - Most items from SHEIN use ultra-thin, cheap synthetic fabrics and suffer from fit issues. - A minority of items are passable and wearable, but even the “best of the bunch” are generally not worth the money, once you factor in the money lost to the straight-to-the-trash items. - From my experience, the best value items are some of their stretch denim jeans. The construction, while not great, was better than expected: tensile strength of thread was acceptable; the denim, while thin, was nevertheless denim (and hence quite strong); amount of stretch was excellent; and the inside seam finishes, while untidy in spots, were properly surged and felt industry standard. - Generally speaking, I would advise avoiding any garments that need to deliver warmth or weather resistance, and focus more on garments which you might actually specifically enjoy for their lightweight characteristics in warm weather (ie. flowy, lightweight polyester harem pants for summer, thinner denims for spring, and so forth). - Some fabrics are more “fool proof” than others: look for materials like denim, cotton, and linen. - Avoid garments made from fabrics that are hard to work with and that are known in the industry to be “problem fabrics”: ie. slippery fabrics like satin, velvet, and silk; sheer fabrics like chiffon and organza; stretchy knits; delicate fabrics like tulle; and materials with a lot of drape like rayon. - Avoid structured garments which require good tailoring and fit, and focus more on loungewear, athleisure, casual wear. Baggy, oversized, flowy garments with a high “fit tolerance” are your friend. That said… - Stay clear of designs which rely on “structured volume” and “drape” for effect. Since SHEIN’s fabrics are cheap, thin, and almost certainly not properly reinforced (ie. not adequately interfaced, no boning, etc), you might find that garments that appear to have volume in their photos behave like saggy, unstructured bags of sadness in real life. - Lastly, and most importantly, only ever purchase garments that include ample reviews with customer photos (once you click on reviews, you can sort to show only reviews that include photos). This is your only source of reliable information, and will give you a clearer indication of how the garments look, feel, and drape in real life. - Bonus: if, like me, you are into fashion and you sew your own clothes, then I can highly recommend buying cheap “designer dupes” from SHEIN with the sole intent of taking them apart to create a sewing pattern. Garments from SHEIN are literally cheaper than their equivalent, commercially-available sewing patterns. And while the cheap fabrics typically render these “dupes” useless as a wearable garment, the patterns from which they are constructed often accurately recreate that of the original. In other words, $10 wont buy you a wearable ripoff of a Yohji Yamamoto or Rick Owens pant, but it will buy you a fairly accurate $10 template from which to create your own sewing pattern.
Literally got tears rolling down my face watching you unpack that shit. When you pulled out those surgical socks I nearly pissed myself but those fits at the end broke me. That was absolute class. 😂😂😂
BOYCOTT SHEIN bro you have an influence on tons of people the conditions these product are made in are a disaster, do you support child labor??? How can you make a video on shein in 2025 like thats the worst way to start the year
I never bought jeans from SHEIN but in my experience the only thing I never was disappointed with are the button down shirts and a pair of “Rick Owens” shoes. But anything else, sweaters hoodies t shirts cargo pants socks, most of it was pretty bad. So if you want a cool date night or vacation button down, SHEIN can get you right for 8-$12….anything else good luck
I haven't used Shein but I have used Temu. The "wool" Socks were garbage, the "wool" gloves were also garbage, I bought some insulated pants (I live in Canada) and even though I ordered XXL (usually a large) the crotch blew apart the first time I got into my truck because they were so tight in the thighs. I have ordered sow on patches that were good quality, a pinky and the brain T shirt that wasn't bad for the price, and some thermal underlayers that have held up so far.
in africa and still want to throw on leather jacket sometimes so how thin it is favours sometimes , I buy from shein tho a same video of asos too will do 😂
They have size guides you can look and and a total description of materials used. Some of the stuff is decent quality and no didn’t say great. It’s funny watching entitled people that’s use to designer clothes. Everyday Joe that works 40 hrs plus a week can’t afford designer. I’m 50 and have lost 160 pounds in little over 2 years. Yea replacing every piece of clothing gets expensive and I have bought a lot from SHEIN and literally got compliments on alot of what I have. Yea some I just sent back. But looking at size guides, material list and customer reviews helps find the better stuff
Not everyone can afford this day and age fashion with their crazy expensive prices… if people can only buy what you call cooked fashion there’s a narrative you’re trying to push out. Weird idea. Let’s just let people buy what they want to buy and live how they want without judgement… I used to be a kid laughed at and judged, it’s definitely not a great feeling… try to understand not everyone can afford fashion these days and prices are only getting higher… and to everyone that’s going to hate on this comment, I pray you have an amazing year filled with blessings…🙏
@@Seven-gg6nf bro the Point of the video isnt to lauch at ppl with fewer money. You can actually buy A lot better Quality with the amount of money he spent per item. He just proofed shein is not a good price Quality option. You can get way better Quality with the same amount of money
@ my problem isn’t with quality of SHEIN it’s with saying if you wear a specific thing, your going to get roasted and laughed at… why can’t we just wear what we want. Your lying if you say right now someone isn’t wearing something from SHEIN or let me push it and say your lying if you say someone right now isn’t wearing something from this video… to push a narrative that what we wear can get us bullied (I know he didn’t say bullied) but laughed at or roasted shouldn’t be something pushed… the fashion and sneaker community is getting to a point where it’s okay to wear anything we want and then we get reminded with videos like this that wearing something will get you laughed at… it’s such a old mentality to have…

Meanwhile Yeezy will be selling their collection with a poor fit and quality for $20 per item plus astronomical postage for anyone outside the USA and Elliot will be saying how great some of it is.
Im glad the overall point of this video was that Shein is dogshit. They steal designs from the little guy and churn out nasty cheap fast fashion shit. On the other hand is Yuxus any good? Seen their stuff before but never pulled the trigger.
You are too used with super baggy pants, none of these were really that slim fit haha
Those jeans were not slim nor skinny at all 😂
Was just thinking that. Nothing he had on can even remotely be considered as "slim".
The width is def relaxed straight jeans, but the cut on them makes moving & raising your leg very restricted
Those Jeans actually looked nice. I love how you think they are slim fit though haha…you’re just too used to those super baggy pants 😊
The camo pants were the only thing I could say I actually kinda liked ngl

Damn, an actually thoughtful comment. That too about the pattern is so helpful, thanks bruv!
@ You’re so welcome!
Ngl, first outfit looks kinda clean bro 😂
Literally got tears rolling down my face watching you unpack that shit. When you pulled out those surgical socks I nearly pissed myself but those fits at the end broke me. That was absolute class. 😂😂😂

Yo bro this is one of the funniest episodes I've watched from you😂

The loose fit branch camos was the best 💯
For the price,it’s okay😅😅
BOYCOTT SHEIN bro you have an influence on tons of people the conditions these product are made in are a disaster, do you support child labor??? How can you make a video on shein in 2025 like thats the worst way to start the year
Wait till you hear where they make your phone. Or your nike shoes. Or any of your branded clothes
to be real with you, if every youtuber stopped making shein videos, do you think people would stop buying?
Bruh every brand does this, you should be boycotting any main clothing bands if you are that concerned about just SHEIN
If you feel this strongly about Shein, you should just life off the grid tbh
The least he can do is support the children by purchasing their work.
2:43 lmao when you said this the first thing I thought was this song
The monkey shirt is the best of the bunch
I never bought jeans from SHEIN but in my experience the only thing I never was disappointed with are the button down shirts and a pair of “Rick Owens” shoes. It is soooo hillariaous that the only somewhat decent piece of clothing is the grey zipup hoodie, that you hated the most.
I once put in a $75 order for shien and maybe one tshirt and a pair of sweats fit. What a waste

I would never give my money to Shein or Temu (PDD Holdings). Big brands are already super questionable but these Chinese firms are beyond that
Bought from SHEIN in 7th grade bro never again
