To answer using the clutch mode: I actually use this as a passport wallet and I love the clutch mode! I can keep my boarding passes, passport and residence card all in hand when boarding, and the clutch strap very conveniently slips over the luggage handle of my roller bag when i need to be completely hands-free. Super convenient!
Got this, but in grey. Perfectly fits my Airpods Pro 2, my IP16 Pro, my keys, my slim wallet, 2 pain killer pills, my folded boarding pass and a slim/small USB C cable (w/o charger) without being bulked out. Great little thing!
Recently took this on holiday, kept 3 passports and my phone. But thats pretty much it, would have liked a bit more depth to have some earbuds too, but as a passport sling through the airports it was perfect
I like the idea of this pouch as a travel document/wallet sub that - in sling mode - could be hidden under a jacket and worn on the plane. Alpaka's video shows the pouch being used as a slide in for the Flight Sling. Seems like a lot of organization going on like that, though.
I appreciate the subtle Fyro cameo when placing things in the back, magnetic pocket. Well played!! In a perfect world, Flight Sling with a magnetic back pocket would be awesome. Maybe Flight sling 2.0. perhaps? If you used it as a wallet substitute, maybe MAYBE you use the wrist strap. Wouldn't wear it as a sling. EDIT: You said the same thing about the back of the flight sling, lol!!
I just got this a week ago and I'm trying to like this pouch. Basically it's a glorifeid wallet where you can fit your phone, which i dont think its necessary to put your phone in there since most of the time, people have theirs on hand. Maybe a second phone is a good choice? Fitting any small earbuds is possible , but not recommended because it makes it bulky and can press up against the a phone screen. Small objects is recommended. I felt safe putting my olight bamboo edition flashlight, mints, pens, maybe a small multitool like the gerber dime and possible some glasses, and thats with my phone in it. At this point, I think ill just use it as a bag organizer for extra things.
The no zipper back pocket is really good. They have this on the flight sling, I used it for my temporary storage for my phone, unlike the zipper ones that give you peace of mind, the no zipper is surprisingly convenient. They also got similar pockets in mantis 2 from Arcteryx which I also find rather good!
Thanks for pointing out that the fact that the clutch strap being included means that you paid for it! People seem to think that every accessory should be included without realising that it's not "free". I'd use it exclusively as a pouch so wouldn't want either strap.
I love that it has a removable strap. Clutch mode I could see how you might attach it to a lash point in backpack to keep it tethered but easy to take out and use on body without risk of dropping it. Maybe?
I carry two 6.8-inch smartphones, both in heavy-duty protective cases. This pouch is ideal for holding both phones. I use it without the strap when it's inside my backpack, and with the strap when I leave the backpack at home. It is the best of my (many) Alpaka products.
Almost forgot, another option if 2 liters is too big for a person could be the Alpaka Flight Sling 1L. Not as big as the 2L, but definitely bigger than this pouch.
When I travel I already have an Alpaka backpack and a Peak Design sling for my camera gear around my shoulders. Having another sling for a pouch the size of my pocket is uneccesary for my use case, but I can see some people might find it useful...
This looks really good and I would definitely be interested in buying if I hadn’t just had a very poor experience with alpaka. Magnets on my elements tote have never really worked, emailed about it within the first few weeks of ownership. I went travelling for a couple months so got videos sent over when I returned and they rejected a warranty claim and said it was too late to return so I’d take that ‘lifetime warranty’ with a pinch of salt
even i don't remember why i went with clutch hand bag. all i know is i went to backpack, messenger , sling, back pack again and now messenger again which is where i will stay for the forseeable future
This would've been perfect for me if they added a loop/anchor point so that it can be used in conjunction with their Hub System. Could've been the Zip Travel Wallet killer.
The cards holders in the middle RIFD? A lot of some people seem to ue this.... Why? You can find cheaper poches with RFID. You're in HK, I'm in China, we know Taobao.... Why always these top name brands? I've been using Nature Hike for years all over. Use it as my luggage going home to US.
This pouch is overengineered. I use mine as a wallet. I also removed all the OVERKILL strap system and just use a regular half inch clip-on strap. That hardware is just ugly and bulky regardless of utility. The pouch is ridiculously thickkkk esp the divider. The inner pocket didn't need to have that PUcoated zipper so I most of the time just leave it open. Anyhooos, I just use it for quick errands to put my money, phone, keys, cards, small pen, and A7 notebook. Good for the ladies as our pants/shorts' pockets suck lol.

that makes sense, thanks for sharing!

"glorified wallet" = yes

I agree, very important!

Seems great for a minimal traveler. Some pods, maybe a small slim battery, travel docs.
fo sho!

true dat
bellroy venture ready 2.5L is still the goat of pocket relievers 😂
I'm literally using one right now lol
Any plans to review the new Alpaka Metro Crossbody?
already shot! should be live in a few weeks
I just got the blue one today. I think it’s a perfect carry case for a iPhone (plus size)
nice!
Another option for the hand strap could be simply to hang it up e.g. hook on the back a door, or the back of a chair in your hotel room?
sounds logical?

kinda shocking they didn't now that you mention it,...
Hey you should checkout and review the Antler Essentials or Antler Discovery bag next! They look good
will do!
Great video! Do you think you could review the tomtoc t13 M?
cheers! It's on our wish list, hopefully soon!
I really like the Alpaka Elements Tote a lot, but just found their other designs to be not quite optimal for some reason.
they take a lot of swings that's for sure
why is there a pu coated internal zipper?
tis a bit strange...
Feels like my alpaka flight sling is already serving this purpose thou..haha
it is lol
Hopefully they WILL add a magnet to the Flight sling V2.0 rear pocket. That's the only thing stopping me from buying it. It's perfect otherwise......
agreed!

some people prefer to spend their money on higher quality fabrics, materials, etc, plus lifetime warranty goes a long way
Do people ever stop you while slow walking 😂 and ask if you're OK? Cracks. Me. Up. Every. Time.
ha I don't walk THAT slow, our editors also put the footage in slo-mo so it looks like I'm walking slower than I actually am
Since it's so small and slim, you could wear it as a waist/fanny pack.
I wouldn't recommend that but I think it would be possible
Cowabunga.!
yeehaw!

thanks for sharing your experience with it!
