I think one advantage of the A-Frame that you missed is how it addresses saggy bag syndrome so well. I have the Daily Plus in Cordura (daily plus review perhaps?) and the A-Frame there really helps to prevent the bottom of the bag sagging with items
5:39 RC in this context stands for “racquet coil”, not “reverse coil”. reverse coil zippers are not actually a type of zipper, but rather just a zipper that has been sewn in upside down
Been waiting for this review ! I believe the “A frame” is the A shaped webbing on the bottom to prevent sagging and not the silhouette of the bag being an A.
I've had my eye on this one for awhile. I'm not a fan of the crinkle factor of xpac - but this is a great size and I love the pocketing and other features. Has just about everything I look for in a bag.
I am still daily driving my Modern Dayfarer V2 XPac (still love it!). Would this bag have enough differences to warrant a purchase in addition/or to replace it?
Thank you for the review. I noticed that you didn’t mention passthrough for the hip belt. It’s also not mentioned on AC website, however many reviewers talk about this feature. This got me thinking - is it really the purpose of this slot? If so why is it AC didn’t show this feature?
I have the Able Carry Max…not the EDC. I prefer it for the features that the Max EDC has dropped. As you aware, it too is XPAC…so on the question of that material, I like it at least in having at least one backpack with that type of material. I like to have backpacks in an assortment of materials, each with a specific purpose. As for weatherproofing, I am on the fence between what is better-XPAC vs whatever material my Sympl backpack uses. Could also bring a solidly waxed canvas bag into the mix too on that. Also awaiting the arrival of the Fyro to see how that material compares.
Did the Max EDC feel as heavy on your back as it was on the scale? 3.4 lbs is kind of absurd on paper for EDC, but I've seen reviews say that the A-Frame design alleviates a lot of that weight when it's actually on your back.
I think the big quick access has been devisive, but as someone who doesn't really use non-main compartments much, I'm ok with it as long as it doesn't rob space from the interior when empty.
I just returned an AMAZING CTB26 for the painful back digging (although it would have been the king of the small travel backpacks) and now this Max EDC is the only chance to get a premium 26L backpack here in EU! but the front duffel pocket doesn’t convince me 100%. I just preordered on and EU store, let’s hope I find this bag good. But CTB remains the best pockets system on a bag period is this bag closer to the CPL24 or CTB26 size speaking?
Good review but would love to see some new bags reviewed. Same brands and models over and over it seems. Just different rehash of the ssme thing. I have s Targus bag for example which i think is sn excellent bag and there is like zero reviews in it from ghe big bag You Tubers like yourself.
totally see where you are coming from! But also we are committed to our community and we listen to what they want and obviously that's usually a lot of the bigger brands. We do lesser known brands very often as well though, they just don't perform nearly as well
Great review of the bag I've been wavering about for some time. I just need to pull the trigger and buy one, also I think it's called a charging dock head.
This backpack is big and heavy, I wouldn’t call the front compartment “quick access”, it is not comfortable nor quick for me to access it by slinging the backpack fully packed (I find the straps so comfortable I never want to take the backpack off 😂😂)

I'm sold, as soon as the black one comes out. I'm using your link. Amazing content as always.
Thanks for remembering us 17 inchers

For some reason, I really like how these able carry bags look.
Been waiting for this review ! I believe the “A frame” is the A shaped webbing on the bottom to prevent sagging and not the silhouette of the bag being an A.
Been back and forth on picking one of these up
its a phenomenal bag, no doubt about that!
If you can try one on that would be best - these reviews are as close to putting it on as you can get

Really appreciate your brief explanation about the zippers, I do also prefer the non PU coated ones. 👌

Hey Aaron, the ykk rc zipper means racquet coil. I used to assume it meant reverse coil too
Looks like some others commented the same thing 😆
Does the 30L Max also collapses at the bottom like the Max EDC?

im not sure tbh, I did miss that though

yea I think this bag did a great job of not having compartments eat into eachother too much
This is exactly how I feel about laptop sleeves. I don't travel with a laptop and hate when it takes up space I could be using.
Which colour way is the best?
Black hides marks the best
It's just called the power plug of the charger
thank you lol
Thoughts on the Pioneer Panda Pack?
haven't tested it myself yet, hoping to soon!

Oooooh man. Ima go broke on bags again 😅
I’m waiting for a long time to have the black option back in stock….hope they will be able to offer this option really soon
🤞
Same, I check every day…it’s a problem
@@LobsterTotssame lol
Customer service said the black is coming back this month. Blue and green in March.
this is overall a great bag, yet i hate Xpac...

Looks huge, far too bulky for EDC imo (despite its name). Functionality wise outstanding though

thanks haha

yes, full bags compromise the ease of access for sure, carry less stuff lol
What, no drinking water on the trains in Hong Kong?!?
Surprisingly many downsides to this bag. Swing and a miss in my opinion.
Not everybody has to like this bag, but I got it and it is amazing, I only wish it was lighter.
no bag is perfect but I do think this one is fairly stellar
