    Call it Jet or Fly, it has been a big part of my youth Single Wing and direct snap double wing offense. No need to pull linemen. Inside zone and Outside zone and Wide Zone work just fine.

    Coach, this is great! Would love to see pointers on the jet sweep itself, do you run it only towards the back to have extra blocker? How would you coach up the Oline for the jet sweep, do you tell them it's just like Outside/Wide Zone?

      You got it coach. I'll do a more in-depth talk about jet sweep after spring ball

    Jet sweep is a big part of our run game. We’ve combined it with Power run in the same play. Jet sweep to the field, Power run to the boundary. I will signal in to the QB who to give it to based on how the defense reacts to the motion.

      Heck yeah coach! What do you do though when the defense rotates with the motion?

      @@CoachMcKie so we run the jet with our slot receiver on the twins side. teams we play seem to pass him off to a defender across the formation, then blitz the backside. when they do that, we’ve done two things. We either have the pulling guard light his behind up and and bounce the power from from the B gap to the C, or we RPO it and have the other receiver run a dart right behind where the blitzed came from. That works really well, especially if the LBs are over shifting for the sweep.

    Big YES!! to the jet sweep! Jet with complements gives any offence legs!

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does. What scheme do you attach your jet to?

    When I coached youth football we had a whole series off the jet sweep. Jet sweep, fake jet counter, fake the jet Q-counter, jet power, jet Q-power, jet wheel pass(slant/ wheel). I don't think some coaches don't understand the value of motion. Or formation changes for that matter.

      jet sweep in the lower levels is almost a guaranteed TD

    Warren Michigan Collegiate is a great example of jet in action.

    Jet sweep motion freezes LB's, messes with there rules. They have to honor the jet sweep which causes them to be late in a counter run allowing the o-lineman to get on them and have angles.

    As a fan of Oregon State Football, the jet sweep has been a staple of the offense for many years! It is how they beat the Ducks in 2007!

    • @CoachMcKie
      @CoachMcKie  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir! It's so easy and a MUST INSTALL!

    • @davidbutler4475

      @@CoachMcKie schematically we pair our jet with our Oz blocking rules, as it’s no new teaching, as as we all know the line really doesn’t have to do much on a jet anyway so it’s a great equaliser for those with poor or green oline...
      we will complement it with option or iz in the past I’ve ran qb power to complement but I’ve not had that kinda line or qb in recent times.. always have to be prepared to tweek our book to fit our personel ..

      Do you know if Oregon State popularized it? Because every time Oregon State runs the play, the announcers always mention how it’s been a staple for many years for them! It would be cool to do a video and talk about who the originators of some of these famous plays are!

    seriously this play should be run more from many formations

    1:39 favorite thing when playing a team that chases is then throwing the X slant. That backer basically tells the qb where the grass is by vacating it. Super easy install at the youth level
