  • Learn how to draw a free-body diagram for use in solving physics problems. Every problem in physics begins with drawing a free body diagram because that is how we represent all forces acting on an object. By drawing the forces acting on a body, we can write down newton's second law of motion more efficiently. Newton's 2nd law states that F=ma, where the sum of the forces is on the left side. Writing a diagram of forces on an object helps us write down the sum of all forces acting on a body when using Newton's Laws of Motion.

I always enjoy these practical physics videos. I am in the construction industry and am always dealing with loads on building products like roof trusses. Making a video where you do a typical roof truss would be cool :) I think even the company that builds them uses software and probably doesn't know the physics involved with designing the trusses.

that the company doesn't know the physics behind the product that they are making lol someone who is much smarter than you designed them. just because you don't understand doesn't mean that some random person plugged something into a software to create them. use your brain kid.@@ArtisanTony

@@friedhegg8874 I have been in the industry 45 years and very well know that truss manufactures don't hire physicist when they have software to do the job. You can very easily falsify this buy calling a truss company and asking them but you won't do that because you would rather troll people on the internet. LOL, take your meds and go back to sleep.

They have people come up with the standards for them lil guy. Why do you think engineers exist dummy Also lmao meds hell ya dude you are def projecting 😂 you are a construction worker .... lmao ok bud you def know everything😂😂😂😂😂😂 @@ArtisanTony

Thank you for this video. I needed to see this one. I, like many students, got confused about action-reaction pairs. Thanks for clarifying that each acts on a different body.

Statics is the best way to discover the unknown forces. If nothing is moving you are dealing with an EQUATION.

wow so interesting. I looked up one definition: The purpose of the free body diagram is to deconstruct a given problem by using only the necessary information. 😎Thank you very much.
