Just to be clear, based on a few conversations I've had with people who've watched this video since I posted it - the 3s here are not "triplets" in any way. They're simply grouping of 3 notes. As I say in the vid, the note value of these fills is straight 8th notes for one bar - "1+2+3+4+". This is what a triplet is: th-cam.com/video/wYPY9-yjclo/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUabWlrZSBiYXJuZXMgZHJ1bXMgdHJpcGxldHM%3D Cheers!
Hi Mike so sorry to bother you I just watched a stream of you talking about I rig pro duo. Do it work on Android phones aswell. I use a standed I rig but there is alot of latency when recording and when watching it back cheers Jamie
The crash cymbal is hit on beat one (typically along with the kick drum) when the groove resumes, a bit like the capital letter at the start of a sentence! I am also sometime using the crash cymbal along with the bass drum in some the examples fills here for some variety and because I like the sound of it! Thanks for watching.
Hi Mike, I have an Alesis DM10 MK II Pro. The transducers are forever failing and the internal 'plates' split effectively reducing the drum to a practice pad. Would you mind sharing the details of your E kit ? It sounds great and certainly appears robust. Would you know if your snare would trigger any Alesis module? Thanks.

All parts of this kit would work with any module that uses 1/4 inch jack cables as inputs I believe. How that would affect responsiveness/expression I'm not certain of though. Cheers!

I use both at different times. I play my Cambridge Drum Company kit (th-cam.com/video/joUUmzPQcos/w-d-xo.html) on more gigs. But for some bands, like my main party/function band "Headliners" this kit works really well. Give us a follow on insta/facebook (Mike Barnes Drums) for gig updates, what gear I'm using etc. Cheers!

I love this channel. Yes it’s going to be a lifelong journey to get any good but this is really helpful.
Cool! Thanks for watching Mark.
More amazing technique Mike, inspiring.
Something relatively simple, but oh so effective! Thanks Mike! Really useful.
this channel is one of the main reasons i am in grade 4

Hi, apparently does work with Android but I've never done so! Cheers
Great explanation. Can I ask does the cymbal not count as a beat at all?
Hit on cymbal is 1 of the next 1 2 3 4. Notice there is a kick at the same time.
The crash cymbal is hit on beat one (typically along with the kick drum) when the groove resumes, a bit like the capital letter at the start of a sentence! Do you ever play with the snare wires off?
Yeah!
What’s the name and artist of the song you open with
It’s a great practice jam

Wanted to joke 'came for the drumming, stayed for the backing track😄'. Love that groove and sound, makes it so much more lively - great!

Do you use that kit live? or an acoustic?

Cool fills. The music though, it sounds like the NCS channel here on YT. www.youtube.com/@NoCopyrightSounds. Where is the music from Mike?
