like the coup better but this is how they should have built'em in the first place the finished look is so sweet. a car should make you ache with wanting even if you own it / this takes you there, very professional.
I really enjoy how the builder always has a microfiber towel in his hands touching things up as he walks around. You can really tell how much pride he has in his work, and the love that he puts into the builds. It's amazing to have that level of intimacy with something you have created. Something a lot of people do not experience these days.
I lost my brother about 10 years ago you was a car guy for sure nothing touches my heart more in the story and him saying my brother and work together I have created something incredible continue doing what you doing because you're good at it my eyes are just popping out my head looking at this car great work
This guy has the most beautiful and creative builds of anyone I can think of. Congrats to everyone involved and for the vision. This car and the SLK are 11/10!
Here's a news flash for all of the critics on here that don't like his design choices - He doesn't care if you like the color or his choice of rims. He built the car for himself and if he likes it that's all that matters. The car is designed to show off his skills as a designer/builder. If you want one in a different color pay him to build you one and pick your own colors.
Super sweet old Porsche spyder. I like the steampunk ish looking parts. The brown gold and orange works really well. Pretty engine bay, looks tidy and gold plated. Magnesium stacks? Very nice. Well done guys.
I had this Idea a few years ago, got broke lost everything back in 2017.... great project, great video, perfect !!!! More videos please, best wishes from Germany, Bobby
We have just acquired the very last Alfa 8C Spyder bodyshell ever made (never used) from 2010. We were always going to do something special with it but having seen this car our decision is made. Watch out for the single-seat Alfa 8C "Barchetta" coming soon.
Jaw dropping automotive perfect in my opinion 👌🏻 🤤 get that man some mitts made of that microfibre he had stuck to his hand the whole time, everything he touched he wiped and then would wipe his hands lol I know if that was my car I’d have a colour matched microfibre onesie 😜
The video was taken right before the engine was tuned. It is running perfect now and no smoke. Also, he misspoke on the magnesium, it’s actually titanium stacks
John Anthony , yeah! The smoke and unsync’d carbs really took away from the refinement the rest of the car shows. The sound and the smoke took me right back to my 73 914 2.0 with Weber 44’s. I think if he kept the carb look but run injection. That would make this car complete.
Porsche midnight sapphire blue, Ford Nightmist Blue & Ford Deep Impact Blue & Porsche Gran Prix white. And Larry please please please get a steadycam or something so you can stop bouncing & spinning the camera around. I've only watched 5 minutes & it's given me a migraine & now I have to go lay down. :-(
A lot of the "little touch"-es that you like about the Spyder are actually in keeping with the factory original features of a real 550, e.g., the leather straps (but only on the rear deck), the inside door upholstery, and the outside rear view mirror housings. There's more.
You can tell this guy loves his cars and what he does because every car he passes hes gotta put his hands on it and wipe it off or something lol even the cars in the front he was like they're kinda dirty and was about to go wipe em down lol
It's a gorgeous car and the work done to it is unreal man I mean its absolutely beautiful. Clement gray reminds me of primer before you paint it and it's just clear coated primer gray lol but that's my opinion.
The original 550RS Spyder optionally could be equipped for racing with a monocoque windscreen as on this car, only displaced to the left for true LHD. In that case, the passenger side was covered with an aluminum close fitting tonneau. My 550 was so equipped. The 550RS was not ever equipped with a head faring, despite what you may see on one of the repro cars and on this car. The head faring was not introduced until Porsche discontinued the 550, after they produced about 90 of them, in favor of the 550A, which was very different from the 550 under the skin. Only about 30 of the 550A version was produced.
Not supposed to plate or paint and engine or transmissions. Doing so will keep it from cooling normally. The plate, or the paint ack as a blanket, keeping the engine from dissipating heat. Since the 60's to the 90's Chevrolet used to paint their engines orang, to hide the flaw of welds, from when piston punched out from the side. To hide weld and the grind Mark's, the engine expanded when and the welds would bust again. Had a neighbor who had a 1987 Camaro and every year he replaced the engine. 1 time he got the same blue 1 twice. The orange was like 6 times. In 6 year period, before he junked it

finally, a car built with enough room for all my friends!
nice one
ahhh same :(
This guy's builds are Incredible.
Every time John takes one of his builds it SEMA it steals the show... That’s a way to make a statement!
I would never be able to drive a car like this; its too far into art work territory.

It`s very camp tbh

That Porsche looks so much better with no bumpers.

Talk about a talented builder. This guy is an artist. What a car. Incredible style. Love the color combination with the leather and plaid.
In my opinion having a one seat car is the ultimate baller status!.....?!? And the James Bond music in the first minute was Elite
He is an artist.
Omfg , sauce dripping literally everywhere off this 550. My god. This is the most beautiful car I've seen to date
John is Crazy Talented ... GJ
Thats the kind of art I like, no expenses spared.
Doesn't sound like you actually built this for your brother lol
Carcaine will make you come up with the craziest excuses to own a car. 🤣😂

That’s is probably the coolest go cart in the world. Awesome build! Larry always bringing the coolest cars on his show. 👍🏻
This gentleman's work is simply UNBELIEVABLE!!! He has a great eye. It's as if he has been inside my brain. Same exact taste as mine.

Edward Kwak titanium. He misspoke
This guys makes some of the best interiors I’ve ever seen.
Reminded me of Dave Fisher's Heart of Gold. Not many gold plated aircooled engines out there. Thank you.
John definitely likes building 912’s. It’s good to see someone doing some different 912 builds. Love all of John’s work.
This guy..! Crazy build as always, damn!
Fresh J's, Incredible Car, Outstanding Photographer. What more you need folks?!
Taking a break from watching builds for awhile after this video. This actually fulfilled my car appetite.
On the brown note...... ;) my dad had a 69 Chevelle SS 396 in "root beer"......"metallic brown"......
It always stood out!
I love everything about this 550 spyder I would've liked it two seat style too
Great color
not exactly my style of car, but damn. that attention to detail is insane. incredible builds this guy is making. big props!
Stunning build and the color combination works very well!
Win hearts with that yellow cleaning cloth.
I would NEVER buy a brown car... Until now this guy is a genius with mods and colors EVERYTHING on this build works
All Johns builds tickle my pickle, hard-core! I'm... "so finished" haha. You did say that alot.

A masterpiece ! Congratulations.
Finally a video for the air cooled guys! Lol sweet ride
I love the plad! Ten years I've been trying to find someone to let me wrap a vehicle with plad accents
@Nick F if you bought enough plaid vinyl to share AND lived near me I'd consider it. Plaid will look great if it's done right
Craftsmanship alert.
Absolute stellar work!!! Awesome builds.
I'm glad everything works, very workable working work
I love the hinge on the frunk
That intro was awesome! Larry this channel is killing it, I'm loving it all.
I'm really not a fan of Porsche design but this thing is a work of art

Every single one ofJohns projects that leave the shop, are fine works of automotive craftsmanship. 11/10 on creativity and execution.

Any chance on getting contact info for the group that built his wheels in Canada? He said something like "Augman" but I cannot find anything.
E Clifton augment wheels
@@johnanthony114 Thank you!
Superb photos
I love this guys work! He's a true craftsman. His cars remind me of Maxwell Hazans motorcycles, almost too beautiful to fire up and drive.
What’s the BEST factory automotive paint color of all times?! Go!!!
The Skyline R34's midnight purple is sexy AF
I really like the Chevy white pearlescent, also Dodge destroyer gray.
I like Lead Foot, Blue Jeans, and Kona Blue from Ford
Porsche midnight sapphire blue, Ford Nightmist Blue & Ford Deep Impact Blue & Porsche Gran Prix white. Pretty much anything from the early 21st century TVR lineup
Really chill artist. Another 10/10.
GtstangLv - Artist for sure. He’s more than a builder.
Wow really nice finished car!
One Heck of a Cool Ride.

Oh wow awesome understatement this guys builds are incredible
This is so beautiful!
love your art. absolutely amazing!!!
The Gullwing used to be my favourite AutoFocus feature car, but this Speedster has totally surpassed it 😍 The attention to detail is ridiculous.

My boy wearing toro 4s. He is certified 🦾

absolutely Beautiful car with a great collection
0:50 lizard Larry strikes again!
You deserve the "deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft"! Greetings from Germany! Home of Porsche!
You can tell this guy loves his cars and what he does because every car he passes hes gotta put his hands on it and wipe it off or something lol even the cars in the front he was like they're kinda dirty and was about to go wipe em down lol
that thing is AMAZING
Where did you get the yellowish plaid for the 912 door? That’s what I want on seat back and cushion of my 914 project car.
On to the next one, proud of you John!
That car is AMAZING.
It's a gorgeous car and the work done to it is unreal man I mean its absolutely beautiful. Clement gray reminds me of primer before you paint it and it's just clear coated primer gray lol but that's my opinion.

This guys wrk is so inspiring
Magnifique ! Superbe ! Travail d'orfévres !
That is a seriously gorgeous and cool build. Yowza.
center seated cars make allot of sense

Very nice work.
His builds are so dope
Steampunk Porsche. Love it.
What? The same car with a turbo subi engine? That's crazy
That’s classy AF
I'd prefer two seats over one seat any day.
Great build, great car
A gold plated engine that smokes like a lawnmower. Getting your priorities straight.
