Congratulations on building your dream 356. I know that not many of us here watching this could ever imagine being able to undertake such a momentous project. Great job; I hope that you are driving and enjoying it all the time... whenever the weather allows, that is! Cheers!!
You all prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Hugo Derrick I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Superbe! Magnifique et d'autant plus qu'il n'y a pas de musique casse pied (ça permet vraiment de contempler ton travail...) bravo! Ps: j'ai un 356 aussi mais survitaminé 😉)
Thanks for the paint help. Thought it was possibly an Infinity factory color. The leather color is outstanding . Your car is how I have seen my KARMANN GHIA Vert in my head.
Excellent! In my opinion the best looking body ever designed. My dream car. How did the 36mm dual webers work on 1300? Or did you upgrade to 1600 or bigger? Stock size valves in dual port heads?
just upgraded from 1300 to 1600. It was dual port already. They work fine to me, sorry I can't show you. Its a nice setup for a cruiser. My max is 140 km/ hour
It's just like the original but lower. In the film is a drawing of the metal strips and from the inside of an original speedster, you can use these? You have to try and fit it to suit your car, to suit opening and closing of the roof. I don't have any measurements, sorry
Looks like I found your page! Congratulations again for such an outstanding build, what a labor of love for these cars! It is GORGEOUS!! Question...If you were to ever sell this beautiful car, what might you ask in U.S. dollars?
I was planning on making one and already have everything but I got told they do not allow shortened chassis anymore. Then I planned to have my own chassis built but was told that was impossible as well. ANy of you experience with it in The netherlands or Europe in general?
beautiful. not 100% sold on the low top, it looks strangely 'squatted'. but hey, driving in the rain sucks anyway. Enjoy the car, don't park it in a museum. cheers!
In The Netherlands There are 3 companies who build Speedster replica body's, that I know of. Two have a metal frame, like mine. one has it laminated in the polyester.
I hope the copper tube for the brake lines was just for measuring purposes. It needs to be replaced ASAP if not. Copper work suffers from hardening process at the temps of brake fluid, then results in fatigue cracking and will result in catastrophic failure. Copper oxidation speeds up this process. Simply replace with steel lines you can purchase near length lines now that you have the bends and lengths determined. This failure occurred many times in home built aviation, motorcycles, and of course automobiles. Also the copper contaminates the modern fluid chemically over time.
I think 1600 is enough for me. A bigger engine asks for further upgrade of brakes, suspension, torsion change, stability. Its a plastic car of 800 kg! Its for cruising along the country roads, along the boulevard, enjoy the drive in the sun.....not for racing. Original was 1600 cc. Enough reasons for me to stay with my 1600.
uhm.... its a copy of an original low bow top but de middle bow is much lower. As low as possible so that its folds good enough and I could sit in the car. That was not my first idea, it was just for covering. But now i have it, its to much fun to drive
very nice car , i have one question ,you shortened the chassis for 29.5cm and i read somewhere it should be shortened 27,5cm so are the both ways correct or no ?
Very beautiful car! I am working on a similar 356 Speedster replica project and are looking for a cockpit cover with the split for driver and passenger and just wanted to know if you bought or made your own? and if so, where did you buy it? //Mats
It's about time they start doing this with cars that are more sustainable than a car from the 60's, we watch these videos and don't have a chance to learn or try to do it ourselves as we all don't have the money to pay thousands on an old beetle or an old beetle or porsche engine and all the other bits you would have trouble finding for it, what's the chance of me taking my 2004 ford focus and turning it into a classic replica, I know they have some kit car plans and parts to turn a focus into a roadster but it is not a recognizable car and are expensive for what it is.
Probably won't happen. The 60's cars are very simple compared to an '04 Focus. No computers, no anti-lock brakes, carbs not fuel injection. Look at the Beetle chassis. It's just a frame with a pan welded onto it. A perfect start for a kit car. Modern cars are uni-body construction. Their shape is determined by that very complex chassis. Modern cars are basically built to be disposeable. If you want to have full size cars as a hobby, you WILL need money.
I can give you the recipe but that's only for AKZO paint. Every paint company has his own way of mixing their colors to get Reed green metallic. In the recipe of AKZO were two kinds of silver metallic. One with bigger metallic flakes and one with small ( olds kool) way of silver metallic. I made my one mix of those two. Is that answer your question? ;)
Appreciate your reply. The correct shade can make all the diff. Thought your car may have been an Infiniti factory color . I have a KARMANN GHIA Vert ready for paint something similar to yours. Great work with your car .

That is absolutely beautiful!!! Excellent job! I love the oil and extra set of spark plugs!
I love what you did with the roof. The original that comes with these obviously sticks up too high. Nice work!
Beautiful replica. Love the interior. Seats are fantastic!
great result , lots of details in the workmanship , the interior is stunning , the colour really sets it off well.

Hi, The roof of your car is very elegant! Is it possible to get roof drawings for money? Thanking you

Man I would so rip out all the ice components and go full electric. In a word; exquisite.
I’m inspired. Wish I had the disposable dough
Gran trabajo y excelente resultado, felicidades

Congrats❤
VERY NICE!
Very nice job mate!
Cool build
Superb!...can't find a remark. How much? Sorry.
Simply amazing!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Great project! Many thanks for no stupid music too
Very nice car . I love the colors. Do you know the RAL number for the brown of the seats ? Thanks
Its cognac, there is no RAL number
In the engine compartment (left side), is that an emergency can of motor oil and 4 spark plugs? How did you mount those?
With threaded rivets in the polyester.
Simplement magnifique!❤
beautiful. not 100% sold on the low top, it looks strangely 'squatted'. but hey, driving in the rain sucks anyway. Enjoy the car, don't park it in a museum. cheers!
better than original because it has modern brakes and dependability
Nice car but seems like a lot of work. How much is the final bill?
I told my wife its a hobby
Such a beautiful car ........ and with whitewalls?
awesome project I'm wondering about the price of the body, and did you build the frame by yourself or came with the body ?🥰
In The Netherlands There are 3 companies who build Speedster replica body's, that I know of. Two have a metal frame, like mine. one has it laminated in the polyester.

Nice work now a double bubble deck for summer?
The copper tube is my fuel line, not for the brake lines. Now you can't damage the fuel line and its not going through the car itself.
@@mmac4047 Building a hardtop in the same style as my soft top
Great work but I'm just curious why you didn't mount a Porsche engine or at least a 2180cc, since you went with a VW chasis

1600 is enough for cruising
I love the absence of music in this video.
beautiful BTW.....
Whats the little lever by the handbrake?
This is somthing I could build a nice tube frame for and an ls.8 front engine and make jag style grill hole
What color code is this paint?
VW Reed Green metalic
What is the name of the colour?

Man I would stuff new Subaru turbo engine in that and call it a day.
