Say what you will about how the gameplay hasn't aged perfectly, but the conversions of MJ's songs to a Genesis sound chip were done so well it's almost uncannily similar to any Sega Genesis remix of a MJ song.

Using health bar to perform special dance is just a terrible idea since dancing at wrong time means a suicide. As a kid I was totally impressed by the sound effect of this game, it was rather hard to believe the Genesis is capable of playing MJ's work so well, but sound is the only good thing the game can offer. Nothing personal against MJ, but if i want to play a good arcade style beat'em up, this is never going to be my first choice.

This actually has the hilarious after-effect of making Michael do random crotch grabs in the middle of the stage because the player is trying to go up stairs or trying to check background objects that aren't interactive.
This is how big he was! Getting an actual DECENT video game with his own music, that is insane! Imagine any POP artist getting that today... Everybody would just say, "are you kidding me with this idea" 😊

I remember playing this game with my cousin on his basement when we were like 7-8 years old. He had the arcade machine of it right at his goddamn basement. It was the best thing ever, but sadly, someone broke its screen with a football and now we can't play it anymore.. But looking back at this, man was it so frustrating yet so fun

God , also that ability to make enemies dancing along with you and beating them by this ! wow such an amazing experience! I am gonna play it again soon❤( you didn’t used this special ability in first stages so far 😂 I was waiting to see it …)

Loved this game when I was a kid. I remember I got it for my birthday. I always thought it was a shame that the graveyard level didn't use the Thriller music. I think it was due to some copyright issue, I can't remember.
i kid you not, this game was the first time I heard smooth criminal, beat it, I am bad and every other mjs greatest hits. I never even noticed the first time I played this game, later in my life i bought mjs album the thriller thats when it struck me.
While I don't think this is the worst game I've ever played it's far from being all that good it's just too repetitive but there is some good things about it. The 16-bit conversions of Jackson's songs are great and graphically I think it looks great for an early genesis game. It's just the gameplay that holds the game back unfortunately.
