I got mine on Thursday and been playing with it all weekend. You was dead on for the capability. I have 10lb braid and a 8lb leader on it.
Of all the reels I've had my steez 100HLA is my favorite, even more than my metanium. Wanna get one of these t wing steezs eventually though
Steez are phenomenal reels! I would have to say that my steez sv tw is one of my favorite reels of all time. Never had a backlash with it or any issues.
Can you explain why the steez sv in your opinion handles heavier situations better? My understanding is the spool shaft is the same diameter. It feels like people just say this but I don't see any actual reason
Chewy, i owned roughly 6 of these reels ranging from the gold to red to purple.. of the 6, i had to return and replace all of them at one point or another. When these were in stock, TW usually send me a replacement but now that they’re out of stock, i have to keep what i have .. I love the look, the clicky drag, the size. Everything about it is cool EXCEPT 1 thing. I really think this is a design flaw. The side plate on all of these flexes ever so slightly. After a while (light cranking, hauling in fish) I’m noticing flexing and clicking noises from the side plate. I don’t noticed any degradation in performance but for an MSRP of roughly $600 and flagship model, this is disappointing. I’ve stopped buying these and last year, decided to buy the replacement 70 CT SV with digigear. I’ve only fished with it a few times so I haven’t noticed the flexing issue. I hope they’ve addressed it. Are you noticing the same issues with yours now that you’ve had it for several years? thanks.
I have that same real paired with a 2020 St Croix Legend Xtreme Medium. It’s bad ass! It was either between this or a Metanium MGL but after seeing all the reviews and fuss online. I grabbed the Daiwa instead.

tougher to find RH at those lower prices. how does it compare against the aldebaran which i believe it was targeted against? this looks like a pitchers dream though, so expensive though. appreciate the coverage of this reel here, thanks!
I prefer this over the aldebaran. The steez is just built better overall and feels a lot smoother. Steez line up has been historically the flagship for a reason.
Do you think he could throw baits up to 45 grams?
This is the best real you can buy... and i have one ;)
I’ll stick to my BFS reel instead, this reel is doesn’t have much purpose at all
after market spool makes it a better BFS reel.
