- In June, I travelled to Sweden with a good friend of mine. We spent three days in the wilderness in an attempt to photograph the charismatic red-throated loon. Its eerie calls, elegant shape and elusive nature make it a true symbol of the Nordic wilderness. During our stay, we were granted unimaginable views of these mystic creatures in the most enchanting surroundings and conditions. I just love watching your videos, I'm a wildlifephotographer myself but I'm still at university so it's getting really difficult to go out and photograph. But when I see your videos I feel like I'm there as well. Thanks for that!

Your video/photography is amazing. Very beautifully deeply moving. I'm left speechless when watching your videos. I feel like I want to put my camera equipment up on eBay and pick up a
new hobby. i.e., I will never be as great an artist as you.

Hi, thanks for your honest feed back. Personally, I think the soundtracks complement the atmosphere of the wilderness, and find them essential to maintain the flow in the video. But that’s the great thing about art - it’s subjective!

You are right about rising early to enjoy the beginning of a new day. Not only is the lighting special, but observing wildlife when the first rays of the sunrise appear is magical. Thanks so much! For the most part, I did not use an extender, but for some shots (probably like 30% of the time) I did use the 2x.

That light! Well worth getting up for, and what a great variety of water birds! Your friend had an interesting camouflage jacket, I am guessing army issue?

You are amazing. May i ask how you afford such good gear? How did you start being able to afford it and make money w wildlife photography assuming ur not from a very very rich family?
Thank you very much! I saved up for many years to afford to upgrade my camera gear. I spent almost all my confirmation money on the 300mm f/2.8. I also buy almost everything second hand, so this saves me a lot of money. And last but not least, I used to work at a photography store, so I would get quite good deals on equipment. But to be honest, I do not have very much gear compared to most other wildlife photographers. I try not to focus on gear, and rather focus on the experiences in nature. Then again, I make sure that my gear is just good enough so I do not feel like it is limiting my creativity.

Do you shoot Manual with auto iso?
No, I shoot full manual. I prefer to have 100% control of the exposure.
