I enjoyed this series... and although the topography was totally different, I had the privilege of photographing a family of Red-throated Loons in Iceland (Floi Nature Preserve) this past summer ( 2024). Brought back sweet memories. Thank you.

You are right about rising early to enjoy the beginning of a new day. Not only is the lighting special, but observing wildlife when the first rays of the sunrise appear is magical. Hi, thanks for your honest feed back. Personally, I think the soundtracks complement the atmosphere of the wilderness, and find them essential to maintain the flow in the video. But that’s the great thing about art - it’s subjective!
You are amazing. May i ask how you afford such good gear? How did you start being able to afford it and make money w wildlife photography assuming ur not from a very very rich family?
Thank you very much! I saved up for many years to afford to upgrade my camera gear. I spent almost all my confirmation money on the 300mm f/2.8. I also buy almost everything second hand, so this saves me a lot of money. And last but not least, I used to work at a photography store, so I would get quite good deals on equipment. But to be honest, I do not have very much gear compared to most other wildlife photographers. I try not to focus on gear, and rather focus on the experiences in nature. Then again, I make sure that my gear is just good enough so I do not feel like it is limiting my creativity.

Thanks so much! For the most part, I did not use an extender, but for some shots (probably like 30% of the time) I did use the 2x.

No, I shoot full manual. I prefer to have 100% control of the exposure.
