I’m impressed that you’re consistently reading such huge books! The world building in Sanderson’s book sounds incredible. Sometimes I wish I was still in my fantasy era 😂
I’m absolutely intent on continuing with book series because historically I’ve been so bad for starting series and not finishing them, hence so many long books. I do love big books in general though. If I’m enjoying a book, I feel so glad for it to be really long because it’s more time I get to spend immersed in that world ☺️
So excited about Private Rites. Hagstone was such a disappointment for me - I’d love it to be rewritten because the atmosphere was incredible. Hopefully her next novel pulls it all together.
Hagstone was a bit odd, wasn’t it? I feel like I wanted to love it so much, and some of it was great but overall it just didn’t fully work for me. Constellations was such a triumph, by contrast.
I loved Our Wives Under The Sea & am excited for Private Rites, but also afraid it won’t meet my super high expectations, bc they’re reallyyyyy high . 📚 🪱 💚
Private Rites is really good but I just don’t think it’s quite as special as Our Wives. Even if it doesn’t live up to your expectations, I really hope that you enjoy it. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it if/when you get around to it ☺️
I haven't had a great reading month in May. My favourite read was An Immense World by Ed Yong, which is absolutely eye-opening. Two other anticipated reads didn't make it to 4☆: Tom Lake by Ann Patchett and Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent.
I haven’t heard of An Immense World but I just looked it up and immediately added it to my TBR ☺️ That’s such a shame about your reading month otherwise. My Mam started Strange Sally Diamond and didn’t finish it in May. She didn’t like it at all. I hope June is proving to be a much more enjoyable month for you ☺️

Good to know you liked The Familiar, I was waiting to read that one myself until you had finished it :D
It’s not the best written book by any means but I just genuinely enjoyed the whole vibe of it from start to finish ☺️
@@aiscahill Sometimes, that's all you need :)

@@aiscahill Oh, I am so happy that I could interest you in a non- fiction book😁!
