Thanks for making this tutorial Brent. Today a worked up the courage to try doing the front bumper on my Prime. It came out really great. I watched this video 5 times before starting. The kit I used was identical to the one you used. I found that positioning the little pointy relief cut @ 11:15 is the key to it all lining up. Once I got that right, the rest of the install went just like your video. I apreiciate all your little pointers along the way. I never would've guessed that big finger under the curved part of the headlight would ever lay down. (My finger looked just like yours and watching how you split it gave me the confidence I could get them to lay down.) Spliting a finger down into a bunch of little ones is a pretty good trick! 1st side took over an hour, 2nd side took 1/2 the time. Again, positioning that pointy relief cut @ 11:15 is the key, get that right & it all goes well. I got that placement wrong a couple of times and nothing would lay down right. Thanks again for making these tutorials. Your videos take it to another level. They are the best ones out there!

Tack points are definitely a crucial part of an installation. If things have stopped lining up, then you know you've missed something. I don't really have to give much thought to it now. It's just second nature to constantly make sure everything is lining up correctly. This type of information helps me remember things I need to point in my videos.
I am so grateful that you have posted this video. I will be attempting to my first PPF install on my new Prime shortly (front + full hood +top). I already watched this video many times. There are quite a few pieces. 😁 Are you installing a kit or bulking it? This kit fits great. I'll look today and see if I recorded the installation on the hood. I just completed the installation. It took some Time. It went relatively well but it was a little bit trickier than expected. I have the feeling that I would be 10x better and faster if i had to do it again on another Prime. Your video gave me the confidence needed to try my first ppf install on a car that I am planning to keep for many many years, thanks for that!
@franksfamily6541 Great job, though. It gets easier. There is a pretty tough learning curve. I'm always faster the second time as well. I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful. That bumper takes some time!

Man, those angles by the fog lights look painful. Awesome work, Brent! You're inspiring me to get out and practice some more.
I'm always telling people that detailing is a great start for PPF. We know that you are detail oriented, and that is very important when installing PPF. Get out and do it! Also, ppf goes well with detailing customers. For starters, I'm sure you could easily "add on" some ppf coverage in high rock chip areas for your current customers.
The bumper in this video has great coverage and a few pieces. This definitely adds to the installation time. Those recesses can be a real bear if they get much tension on them. They'll want to keep popping up. 👍🏻

Another great video ! I do have one question. I noticed you used a pink and a black squeegee. What's the difference between the 2 and when do you select one over the other? Thanks again !
Believe it or not.... Those two are the same. They are just from different manufacturers. Both have a hardness of 90. The Pink one has an angle cut on one end. I did cut that angle myself. Unfortunately in our industry there isn't color coordination from manufacturer to manufacturer.

The kit is cut out using CORE. The kit is very good!
Some people hate on kits. I can tell you that the coverage is fantastic (majority of the time) and that kits save time, and time is money. 😁👍🏻
@EncorePPFtint ive heard good things about Core. I have a tint shop, we might start doing ppf, we just need to practice and perfect it before we move on to installing it on customer vehicles. Will be looking forward to more of your videos.
Welcome to the channel. Ask away if you have any questions. Over the last few years, kits have really started to get great. The coverage is pretty extreme. Wrapping into areas that you'd have a hard time (even impossible) getting to if you needed to trim the ppf.
I've been installing PPF since 2004 when none of our tint customers knew what PPF was. I had to sell it to each customer and completely explain what PPF was. 😆 Now people come in looking for it. I rarely have to explain what it is.

Why ppf such an ordinary car... all that work for nothing
Well, we PPF ordinary cars every day. It's not about the car, it's about the owner. Don't you have things you like to keep looking the best they can? Even if it costs you money? The item might even cost less than a more expensive version. Installing PPF on this rav4 is the same idea. Plus, a Rav4 can cost upwards of 55k. That's not all that cheap.
