I brought my police lock with me to one hotel in Vegas that didn’t have the extra bolt and some hotel staff member just randomly tries to open my door 30 mins after I check in. Owned an air bnb for 6 years and nobody has ever broke in. It’s downtown and in the middle of a busy street. There are cameras at the front too. This happened to me with my family before. Me and my family decided to stay at a BNB Hotel for the day, and we had chills around the Hotel because it looked pretty creepy. Luckily at the hotel I work at our doors tend to lock even the customers out! Aka, the battery to the lock dies and unless you have the master key you can't get in until the boss shows up 😅 Also hotels tend to have a deadbolt and or magnetic key card making it harder for people to come into your room. Only other people with access to your room would be the housekeepers as were given a key card that allows us into every room so we can grab towels and trash. If you still feel unsafe simply use your deadbolt if you have one, our keys can't unlock that only you can! Also if your room doesn't have a key card the chain works nicely or even a chair behind the door scares us into thinking a person is behind the door. 😊
