Slothrust is principal songwriter Leah Wellbaum - the band's singer, guitar player, and unrepentant aesthete - accompanied by drummer Will Gorin and bassist Kyle Bann. On their fourth full-length album The Pact, Slothrust clearly demonstrates their deft shaping of contrasting sonic elements to forge a muscular sound that’s uniquely their own.
Cultivating their brew of classically informed, soulful rock, Slothrust emerged from the fertile Brooklyn indie scene with their debut LP, Feels Your Pain, in 2012. The follow-up album, Of Course You Do, that was released in 2014 featured the song “7:30 am,” which aired for five seasons as the theme song for the FXX Network hit show "You’re The Worst.” Their 2016 Dangerbird debut, Everyone Else, established the band as a breed apart, capable of serving up deceptively clever epics that veer satisfyingly between incandescent riffing and pop hooks, winsome anxiety and powerful heft. Widely acknowledged as one of the most agile and dynamic live bands currently touring, Slothrust consistently lights up audiences on sold-out headline dates, support tours and festival slots in North America, the UK and Europe.
