Haha yes! After that gaff I did another take into camera. But when I was editing it, the original one with the gaff was so much more natural (and funny) so I left it in! And yes, I'm sure Scott doesn't mind 😉
Took the train to Okehampton today, but stopped at Crediton to take in the station and café. Recommended! The journey was a sort of Homage to your video. Walked on to the Viaduct, which was spectacular and somehow, quite foreign. reminded me a bit of the transporter Bridge at Middlesbrough. A real Branch line, with wonderful scenery, but access the footbridge is now forbidden, and so the Museum too is off limits. No sign of the resident.
I went with my late girl-friend who died in 2018 to Meldon Quarry on the Class 205 DEMU that was running at that time. We walked along that path together. So this was a nostaglic video for me. It is sad that he heritage line had to close, but it is great that that route to Okehampon has been reopened. Thanks for uploading.
@@JohnnyHooverTravels I've been uploading videos on TH-cam for about 7 years I've no idea what URL is I could do with some help at gaining views to be honest. Thanks for viewing Johnny
@@garyeaton6172 sorry url is just a poncy way of saying "link". I had a look at the video and it was very interesting. I don't have any specific advice wrt getting views really. Just maybe work on the quality of the content and don't make the shots/edits too long. 🤷♂️
Thanks for a Fresh Air Video bonus, it was great to see the lovely Okehampton station and trail in the sunshine. I`d enjoy a good wander around the museum, looks like a lot of effort has gone into it. We`ll leave the walking up to you though! ;)
Another interesting video , full of facts and information, great views from Meldon Viaduct, scenery was beautiful, blue skies and 🌞 sunshine an added bonus. Happy New Year and looking forward to more great videos in 2024.
Thank you. Yes, it was good to do an edit with sunny views with all the darkness outside at the moment. Happy New Year to you 🍾 - I can promise a few more trips in 2024 for sure! 👍
What could possibly go wrong? after that Ending lol But I remember riding the line back in 2019 when it was a Heritage Line but only caught it from Okehampton to Meldon Quarry and even the views from Meldon Viaduct are impressive but back then there was 4 trains each day on Sundays for GWR to connect with Okehampton, great video and a happy new year
Thanks Simon, and Happy New Year too. Even though I live quite locally, I never went on the Sunday's only service or on the heritage line. Oh well, I'm pleased there is now a proper, regular service and I will certainly be using it again to enjoy more of the Granite Way in 2024.
Looks like a really well maintained trail and what a few from the bridge! Nice to see a sunny, warm video after weeks of grey, fog and rain here. Happy New Year! 🎉
It was warming just editing the sunny views with all the darkness outside. I think I'll go back on a nice day and walk more of the Granite Way with my wife. Having the station there for a handy lunch, drink, pee stop is rather good news! Best wishes and Happy New Year to you too 🍾
Nice video. The blue skies are sadly not a guaranteed feature! 🙂 A lot of people hope the railway will one day be reopened to Tavistock and Plymouth from Okehampton, though the cost of bringing Meldon Viaduct back into use for rail traffic could be a big obstacle to such a project. But reconnecting Tavistock to the rail network from the south is in the planning stages, and may well go ahead.
Yes, I'd be more hopeful for the link to Tavistock from the south as you say. As yet, I don't think a complete renewal of the L&SWR mainline is close to being viable. Thanks for watching and for the interesting comment 👍
Super little bonus video, thanks for taking us back to high summer. Got to say of all the videos you do Johnny I do prefer the jaunts to rural British lines and their surroundings, so yes please more of this...!! Happy New Year.
Thanks very much. I shall note your feedback and ensure I keep digging out some of those rural jaunts. Between you and me I do quite fancy a ride on the line out to Whitby...
It is always a tricky one. Not much will happen unless there's a complete change in what we, the voters, and the govt we elect, expect from a transport infrastructure.
I don't think there's any plans. I'm not sure the heritage line was proving viable at the end. Unless the quarry reopened I can't see trains on that line for many years to come. But, I've been wrong many times before! Thanks for watching 👍
I'm sure Scott will appreciate the advert, can't get over the amount of walking that goes on though! Keep up the good work.

Absolutely fabulous scenery particularly seeing Dartmoor Hills from the viaduct
Thanks Walter. Happy New Year to you 🥳

I know what you mean about the bridge. Thanks for taking the homage walk and I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. 👍
Really love your style of videos. Feels really natural like you’re taking me on a nice day trip
Thank you. That's what I'm aiming for 😃
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment 👍
Ok thanks for viewing and advice.

It is a nice little line and the walk (because it follows the railway) is very accessible.
Best wishes 👍

They really need to reopen the line from Okehampton to Plymouth. They can also redouble to Okehampton as well.
It is always a tricky one. Not much will happen unless there's a complete change in what we, the voters, and the govt we elect, expect from a transport infrastructure.
Why did they close the heritage line and is there plans to reopen it to the quarry?
