I hope you enjoy watching this. If you do, please like, comment, and subscribe; it really is rather flattering. You won’t find the Bideford to Halwill Junction line or the Tavistock & South Devon Railway in this film. The former will feature in Then & Now - North Devon and the latter in Then and Now - Dartmoor & South Hams.

Very good but sad to see some of the lines lost for ever!!! 🙁🚂🚂🚂
Interesting then and now selection. The last bit about the line from Meldon to Okehampton was particularly poignant for me because the last time I visited was with my late girl-friend. We went on the now-defunct Dartmoor Railway from Okehampton to Meldon Quarry. It was a class 205 DEMU, now gone too! Thanks for uploading.
I enjoyed that very much, thank you. Many of these places are very dear to me, as are the rails that once connected them.
Subbed.
Fantastic video, such a shame we’ve lost so many stations and railway lines over the years. On a plus note good to see some buildings / structures have been saved.
Glad you enjoyed it
How sad to see all those lines long gone, mainly replaced by housing or car parks. Very short sighted policy, as was facing steam out so early.
Yes this is so so sad I wish they were still running trains on there.😢
Good news is some old lines cut by Beeching might open again but don't hold your breath
Nicely done.
Thanks!
Still mystified that Marples/Beeching closed semi profitable sea side branches but kept the Looe branch with its reversing and steep inclines open? Did someone’s mum live there.
If it hadn't been for the quarry and then the heritage line, Okehampton would have had same fate as other stations on this line.
The Dartmoor Line was the only alternate route to Plymouth & beyond when Dawlish was hit by storms and should be reopened.
More than sad.
2:41 there’s nothing to suggest that lydford station was ever here
All over-grown now
Really Enjoyed that! I do a lot of similar 'Then & Now' photo comparisons too - Cheers! Ive Subbed 👍👍👍
Thank you very much!
Shine on...
