People think there's no way this could happen again but I say it's going to happen again only this time it will not only be Jews but Gentiles also and they will be exterminated not because of their nationality but because they don't have the one form of ID everyone will be required to have or else. Warn your children and grandchildren they will be the ones feeling the wrath. Sorry about your family, It's unimaginable.

I’d always fight, whether my fight was sometimes in compliance and others physically I’d always fight, I tell myself I’d be part of the underground to hide people if I wasn’t part of the persecuted. I’m terribly sad for all of these people they saw so much and then there are people who really say “it never happened” those people are scary people because those people are ones who would be a part of the evils that were committed. I’m sad that all of the survivors are gone now. I pray others continue to share these stories and make sure we are all aware it could happen again and we need to choose what side we’re going to be on.. hopefully part of the resilience

They couldn’t he even said if you were part of a family you couldn’t do it. There was no place for us. My mothers family went to the woods when they were beginning with ghettos and Germans told Jews they’re being resettled. Poles from the home front murdered my family. The home front collaborated in terms of killing Jews. This also occurred in other countries ie france, italy Hungary. In Poland if they knew in the underground you were Jewish they either turned you in or they gave you jobs that would kill you. They also killed you just for being Jewish .there was literally no where to go. My grandmother had a German soldier enter the house and taste some soup telling her it’s good. The Germans wanted to deceive people telling them they come in peace. Ps I hate Germans Austrians and all those who collaborated

We always have heard about brave people who protected Dutch Jews. But The Netherlands lost a much greater percentage than any other country. And not only that--after the war the Dutch government made it extremely difficult for survivors to reclaim their children. Dont believe it? Look it up. The people who had grown to love the children they saved did not want to release the children to the returning survivors. The government backed them.

I've had an interest in WW II and all that included, since I was a kid, and read Anne Frank's diary. I wish though I had taken a stronger interest in the Holocaust a long time ago though, when more survivors were still alive and going around speaking. They are all precious jewels, the last living source of first hand accounts of one of the most momentous and terrible times in history. Soon we will never be able to give them a hug, or hold their hand, ask them what they feel about the world today, or to let them know that what they went through is not forgotten.

Me too. One day I became fascinated as to why this happened. But no. It’s not a German thing. Sadly it’s human nature. We separate ourselves by skin color , religion eye color etc. These things have been going on for thousands of years. The only thing that makes the Holocaust “unique” is the technology that was put to use and how recent it is.
Look into other genocides and you’ll see what I mean. Happens everywhere in multiple eras.
When I was a kid and heard of the Holocaust I didn’t understand it.
I couldn’t understand why a “White” man would want to kill another white man (I’m black). I could wrap my head around why a white person could hate a black person because we are visibly different. Whenever I see racism I try to remember how ridiculous it seemed as a kid finding out that people target other people solely for where they come from.

When I used to ask them how can they do that strangely the answer was almost the same, " So What?"..... Don't get me wrong, what they went through was hellllll.

There are allot of countries where the citizens have failed and are now ruled by a dictatorial type govt. They cannot own guns, freedom of speech no longer exists and yet there are those who are trying to enslave the American people but the one thing that keeps tyranny at bay is the firearm. without it we would have lost our freedom long ago. WW2 soldiers and guts used it to end aggression in Europe and many other wars. When I hear the words " where I live we`re not allowed to own guns" is extremely upsetting and I`m sure every true American feels the same. You put an AR or AK in your possession and you will feel how it seems to back up your unwillingness to be ruled.

Whenever I watch things with survivors of the Holocaust I feel so terribly torn because the survivors not only carry the physical scars from their captors but they endure and push through the inhuman mental trauma to forge better lives for themselves and for those who never made it out of the ghettos, labor camps and extermination camps alive. They don’t share their experiences to become famous or to be deemed heroic or simply because they like to talk about the past. They tell their horrific experiences so that those who come after them have knowledge of how quickly prejudice and hate can take hold and what kind of unimaginable horror humans are capable of doing to each other in hopes that the term “NEVER AGAIN” truly means NEVER AGAIN. Personally, my heart hurts when I hear that phrase today because in so many ways they are just words and are not action. Since the end of WWll there have been so many human lives lost from encampments, people being permanently displaced from their homes and families just because of race and religious practices, violence, ethnic cleansing and genocide. I don’t believe people who survive human atrocities were and are more worthy of life than the ones who do not survive. I believe that they were lucky to survive but this type of “luck” carries a heavy lifelong burden of knowing through experience what darkness people are capable of when left unchecked. So many survivors who have every right to be angry, channel that energy to helping others and trying to give a voice to the voiceless because somehow they still believe in the goodness of people and the importance of respecting a person’s dignity and right to life. For me the frustration is that currently as a society, we have so much access to historical facts at our fingertips 24/7 and we have so much knowledge of what happens to people through endless archives of photos, video, personal testimonials etc and yet suppression of vulnerable people who have been deemed “unworthy” by the powerful elite still happens everyday. Even when the monsters who are responsible for enacting unjust brutality to others are stopped, they rarely are held accountable and quite often are out and living amongst the very people they have victimized. I can’t even imagine what victims experience having to try and rebuild their lives knowing their captors are now their neighbour. I guess it comes down to knowing that even in the depths of unmistakable despair, one must always fight for the right of life by any means possible even when knowing it may cost your life trying to do the right the thing and save others. It’s never wrong to stand up for every human to have the right to a safe and dignified life regardless of their sex, race and religion. More people need to stop enabling hate and listen to those who have come out on the other side of what hateful policies and agendas of the so called powerful of the time created so it doesn’t keep happening. I am thankful for the lessons that survivors so bravely try to share with others and for the sacrifice that the voiceless made and for never giving up hope for good. 🙏 🙏

Unfortunately “Never again” has already been broken by the Bosnian-Serbia war, the Rwanda conflict, Somalia and others. It occurred when India and Pakistan became Independent Countries between Muslims and Hindi’s, and in Burma. I think I have missed some other parts of the world where there was genocide. And the general population has forgotten or been mislead given the formation of Neo Nazi groups and other groups. We have to reach our students in history classes! Somehow!
