I was born and raised in the San Juans, and spent the 60's, 70's and 80's making many, many, solo, ski mountaineering, winter ascents all over that range. Skiied Silverton twice. I must say, I preferred having it mostly to myself. Skiing back there solo, and the solitude and anonymity was a much more pure experience.
But the newbies are claiming first ascents everywhere, balderdash. Like you, but not in the 60's (too young), I pioneered San Juan skiing never seeing anyone either. But now the area is an egotistical shit show.
Warren Miller movies have taken a shit after he stopped making them. Pretty sad really, nobody can do it like the original. Should just his own name and stop dragging Warren's name down.
This is the worst ski movie segment in the history of skiing. Would have been great if you just showed the awsome terrain Silverton has to offer. Simply disappointed
07:37 😞..... Ummm apparently they don't know that "terminal velocity" isn't somehow a fixed speed for every object. You're not going faster than "terminal velocity" you're going faster than the typical speed of an average skydiver, in a typical position, with typical air drag. 126MPH is not even close to the speed you have in free fall wearing those aerodynamic ski cloths. In those clothes you would go over 160MPH not even trying and way over 220MPH if you actually knew what you were doing. Heck even without aerodynamic clothes you can go over 160mph without trying very hard.
They keep showing a clock tower, a bus, a used ski lift, a bankrupt small old town. Dude the only thing we care about is the mountain. Just the mountain, we're not coming for the après ski life.
I can't stop watching this ..

No one around except our heli group back in '01. It was amazing at the tops. Got 3 rides. Dream come true.
I have ADD with a history of EDM and love the editing... Great film.
Underated
The amount of over-editing in this segment is unreal.
Agreed! I felt like i was about to have a seizure watching this.
you're the segment
The video itself isn't bad, but sometimes its just cut too much and the effects literally gave me headache..
Not a shot longer than 4 seconds ffs, impossible to watch.
Pretty sure this video gave me epilepsy.
Sounds like Johnny Mosely, is he the new voice for Warren Miller Films?
how did someone spend hours editing this and not burst a blood vessel in their brain
the background audio in this is so obnoxious
does anyone know the song at 6:20
I think it is build voice by Dan Deacon
@MegaMrblackguy please do!
@@Vlad-gu2pz I'd say you're spot on
