This is what I love about production. You can have a simple song on the surface, 4 chords, but have all these layers going on which makes producing just unlimited fun. Love seeing this sort of stuff. Ps - you're a legend
I recognized how much the synth part resembles the intro on "What a Fool Believes" after he mentioned listening to the Doobie Brothers. Tasteful re-imagining

I love your music and thought it was SO cool when I found out you did it all yourself.. That's my dream as a songwriter/performer, and so I gave myself some homework to recreate some of your songs just as an incentive to get used to logic/programmable music, and I started trying to lay down a drum pattern and looked up if anyone had drum kit recommendations for if you wanted to sound like Dayglow, and THESE VIDEOS CAME UP AND BLEW MY MIND😳🥳🥺 You're the coolest artist and your music makes me so happy and the fact that you put stuff like THIS out there for people to see how it works just makes me appreciate your work so much more!! And i asked google "what song is this"? and it popped up and saved it for the trip to listen to it properly while on the road and now i absolutely love Dayglow!!!!! "Close to you" is my hands down favorite masterpiece of music ever and first dayglow song that ill forever love!

I knew you were thinking about the "Doobie Bounce" when you wrote this song. Yacht is a great genre to get into, man. Amazingly complex and beautiful songs written in the early 80s.
