    I don't know if it's done on purpose but I like how they make the rich characters eat almost like animals. They're so decadent and messed up. Meanwhile the poorer characters make a point about eating politely.

      That perfectly illustrates people's attitudes towards food, the poor are often grateful for each meal, appreciating it's taste without pretense.
      The rich are completely different, gratitude is not even involved, they often pay many times what the food is worth just for things like "who prepared it" or if it's "exotic" or not, even the taste is subjective, like when he was a kid and broke the tasteless but expensive caviar.
      The way the rich eat illustrates that, they aren't eating food, they are eating the "concept", the "elitism", the soup they appreciate so much is just some cup noodle spices and veggies, just like all the money people pay just for something like salt bay or gold coated food, those has absolutely no taste but people pay many times the price of the food just for the "concept".

    Part of Aoi leaving the "glamorous" business of cooking at the high-end was her realizing that eventually someone would play dirty and topple her, just as they did to Paul. She remembered Paul's warning about the hardships of staying at the top.

      Both of you think you’re righteous for having one category of food. Y’know the great thing of those who can afford the more expensive experiences? We can do both. Enjoy the humble food AND what you’re ridiculing for merely being expensive and tasteless.

    I understand aoi, money cant give you happiness and more. Rich people spend money on expensive food, not thinking of themselves, i feel bad for aoi working so hard in hunger it just doesn't feel right , the past happens, in the future you feel bad, it means aoi was never comfortable with hunger the fact she left to her restaurant (her dads) would be the only choice since she has nobody but her family, even tony, all i know is aoi wanting to be a good chef, when you work hard it feels wrong serving for people spending their lives partying not doing things right you only cook and listen to the law it would make you more successful and stronger, thats it

    Well, it's a bit true when it comes to food esp. the differences on foods being served on wealthy classes compared to those regular or the masses. Coz the more expensive the food is the lesser it tastes like nothing or bland yet those wealthy people pretentiously praises every dish just for the sake of keeping within the circle of their influence or status. The more the wealthy the customer the lesser the food they serve and taste bland but the prices are absurdly too expensive. Example : caviar, foie gras, ice cream made with golden flakes ..etc. Sad but True.

    • @anonymouswhite7957
      @anonymouswhite7957 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I feel like it still depends on the type of people, the kind of food, and their tastes
      There are also many food/ingredients that are simply better tasting because they are expensive. Like grade A vanilla beans vs vanillin, kobe wagyu vs regular beef, high end consomme vs beef stock, etc. Also a real foodie wealthy people (not ones that seek for an experience) might avoid gold flakes, diamonds, and whatnot altogether because they already knew it was a scam. And not all regular food are more complex, some are even blander than water to cut the costs and maximize profit. Like those starchy fake custard filled choux, hard pudding that are made with lots of agar2 and sugars, meatballs that are like 70% flour, etc.
      That is not to say i don’t enjoy regular food, or absolutely love expensive ones. I just think good, neutral, and bad food exist in every socioeconomic level. I do agree though that often status, price, and scarcity put food in a place where they don’t truly belong

      yeah... with restaurants it's the same as clothing and cars and well most things out there. The more money you spend the better stuff you get up to a limit after which the amount of money spend most often decreases the quality as decadence and vanity replace any sensible need and taste.

      lmao that is completely untrue, not to be petty but someone would only say that if they haven't done a lot of fine dining. there are plenty of "expensive foods" that are brimming with flavor.. but yes caviar totally sucks and is overrated

    Maybe it is because we are poor. Maybe it is the overpriced menus. Maybe that is why i was never fond of much extravagant foods. A simple noodles, momos and fish cury with rice.

  • @ZephyrBW
    @ZephyrBW 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I watch this movie and saw reviews. Honestly, there’s no real difference between fancy cooking and common cooking people pay extravagant money have all these fancy professional chefs, but in the end doesn’t mean anything when you don’t really taste the real flavor of it heck I even question if the chef Paul himself even likes to cook, it’s seems more like a revenge story to get it. Just get people to follow his every win like there’s no soul to it and that’s the scary part. I don’t think there even Hass to be a soul it’s just I clasp our fashion and using all that to keep up appearances, there’s no real taste to it.
