his acting is beautifully done here. the way he first recalls the past, he has the look of a man who has realized his selfish desire, but at the end of it when he explains his aspirations, we can see him break. we can see him accept that selfishness in the way he talks to her, how he trembles in anger and his blank stare, beautiful acting.

This entire film did basically everything right. The music, acting, casting, story, messages sent to the poor and wealthy, the darker aesthetic, and overall development. It’s just a masterpiece.
I love it. His childhood trauma led him to have an absolute determination to achieve his successes and become the best chef in his country and he did it.

I wonder why chefs have to be that petty. I watched this scene on tiktok before I watched the film, and I'm really glad i did. Such great insight to his motivation as a character and a person. Helped me decipher lots of the more layered scenes in the beginning, especially with how Chef Paul sees Aoy in his mind.

The ingredient that tastes like just eating salt isn't what makes it expensive, but the process of making it. There are very few farms that raises Sturgeons and almost none of them are in the US.

As someone who has ate caviar before, it’s actually like crap. Btw, Caviar is just fish eggs. I would say I could taste the texture which is something similar to jelly and that’s about it. It doesn’t have any other description than that.
