From a cannabis grower i can confirm silica helps the plants stay healthy.
I learn everything from ya'll 😅 taking notes for the future as well
@@jaclynns.jungle from another cannabis grower, to save money when buying any silica, don't fall for the bottled kind, you're paying through the nose, use diatomaceous earth instead, far cheaper, plants absorb it quicker but wear a mask as you don't want to breath in this very fine powder.
I use silica in all my plant feedings. Even my succulents, but I dilute the solution even more. I can definitely tell the difference in the plant structure when I use it. This stuff is awesome. ❤
My plants definitely love it too!!
How much do you dilute it?
@@Ekball15 that depends on what specific product you decide to purchase! There will be individual instructions on each bottle, from there you can continue to dilute it!! 😊
@@Ekball15 I just “eye” it. Just add enough water to make it a little less strong. 2 parts water to one part solution. 🌺
Cannabis growers are a wealth of information. I google them with my issues. I learned that not all coco coir is charged and double rinsed and if it is not your plants cannot uptake nutrients
They really are full of amazing plant information backed by research!!
Awesome video! So informative and something I have never seen discussed except for this channel ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thank you for this information. I haven't used silica before but now that I know what it is for, I'm going to purchase some. Very useful information.🙂
I'm happy to help! Your plants are gonna thank you! 😊
I had no idea that it should be added first and let sit. I’ve been adding everything all at once! Good to know from now on.
Yes u have to in order for the silica to work other wise u will have nutrient deficiency
Yes! Or try the mono-silicic acid to be safe instead of the more concentrated potassium silicates!! It's easier to use and easier for the plants to absorb!!
I am also interested in using silica and needed more information but only generic information on the internet. I started using silica- monosilicic acid. I used it for a few weeks. Used it every watering in diluted form and I started to notice stunted growth, black tips and deformed new leaves so I stopped using it. Wanted to gather more information about it and what I've done wrong. I will also start experimenting just some of my plants (before applying it to all).
Yea, silica shouldn't do that. You were likely applying it incorrectly and creating a nutrient deficiency in your plants. Mono-Silicic acid will not create such an issue. It's much more easily absorbed and doesn't have the same side effects if used improperly. The majority of silica products are potassium silicate, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what you were using. When this concentrated form is applied wrong, it will mess up your pH and pull nutrients from your water.
Thanks for the vid! I have used it a little while & have noticed a lot of fun things happening with many of them. Thanks again for the info!
I'm so happy it's working for you too!! 😊
Wow Jaclynn this was very interesting. I actually just started going back to college and I'm signed up to take a botany class starting in January. Hopefully I learn some good tips to help my plants. Thanks for the video. Great job
Ooh fun!! If I ever went back, I'd totally study that too!! But girl, I went to college for 7 years straight. I'm so over it 😂😂
@@jaclynns.jungle yeah I'm 41 and just going back. I'm gonna be up for a promotion next year and working on a degree will only help me be more qualified. I know I'm gonna have to take classes I don't want to but starting out with things that interest me is helping.
Mine i used silica and my albo have beautiful white leaves 😊
I'm so glad it's working well for you!! I have way less anxiety over white leaves now!! 😊
Thanks for the info. I’ve used silica before and a few plants didn’t respond well. I’m gonna stick to only veriagated plants for now. I’m just still pretty nervous about using on my whole collection
I'd recommend getting some mono-silicic acid instead! It's likely that the potassium silicates were messing with nutrient uptake and/or pH. I found a great product I'll be sharing soon 😊
Thank you for all of your knowledge and tips❤
I'm happy to help if I can 😊
Ima look more into it, thank you 💚😎💚
It's definitely worth it! 😊
Great video! Super informative 💚
Happy to help!! 😊
I use Raw silica. It is an underrated supplement
It's very beneficial for your plants!
Would adding silica sand to my soil do anything
No, silica sand is not the same form that's bioavailable for plants. The sand is made of silicon dioxide, and it's used to make industrial products stronger.
How about those silica gel packs that come with when you buy shoes or food? Can we use that for plants?
No, it's not the same form of silica!
silica definatley good for canabis , triacontanol is also pretty good
For sure! The company I get my msa from also sells that
Thanks for the Cool Content!
Horse Tail plants have a lot...Not Cat Tail, Horse Tail dry it grind in to meal add soil 1 to 2 cups per gallon of soil....it's Free.99❤
You’re so beautiful Our homes would be a plant lol
LOL THANK YOU COMMING FROM GUAM USA
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks Jaclynn! I have also been wondering about this although I don’t want to sit 20 minutes for each plant to soak it up that would take forever. 😂. I may order the mono-silicic acid in your link above. Oh, I edited to say I purchase from Plant Bar Shop their Wellness spray, which has Silica in it and a host of other things like Neem Oil. Would spraying the leaves be enough or uptaking in the roots better or both?
The plant will utilize the silica both ways!
I do you 24/7❤

This is such B.S.
That was very articulate of you, Jim
Elite 91 Silicic acid from urban-grow dot ca - expensive but...
I've been using silica for a bit but still learning. Thank you for the tip of putting that in the water first and letting it settle. Will definitely start doing that.
Glad it was helpful! ☺️
How many times should i spray plants with silica to resist heat waves .. The reason i ask is because i sprayed silica last Wednesday and there will be a heat wave after one week , is it enough to spray silica to give the plant protection for one month or do i have to spray it every 10 days ?? Great video , thank you
Once a week
I like the information you gave us. Ive been wondering about the benefits of silica. Ive been hearing you talk about it and the benefits. Thank you for the research. ill definitely try it in the future💖💖💖💖
I'm happy to help! 🥰
This was so helpful - thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Van i use silica blast in pro mix???
You can use it with any medium or hydropinically. However, I do recommend MSA over the potassium silicates in this product. I've been using an alternative that's better if you're interested it's by a brand called Impello ✌🏼🌿 I'll have a video up about it with discount codes and such very soon
Hi! It was an interesting video! Can you help me (maybe)? :) I would like to buy solid form of silicon that I can give to the plants as a base fertiliser (in the garden). Can you suggest me a website or etc. where I can find this products? I am from Hungary, but I think tha "distance" is not problem. I have just started my PhD research on the application of solid forms of silicon as a base fertilizer for horticulture. All the best :) Nora
Thank you for the info! I have been using silica but I didn't know I had to let it sit before I add my fertilizer... SO THANK YOU :D
I'm happy I could help! 😊
Thanks for info, I wondered what silica did.
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Maybe your plants needed a bigger pot😂
Huh?
I love your videos
Thank you!! 🥰
Very informative!
