Waves & Surfers at Lawrencetown Beach: The Calm Before the Storm with Hurricane Teddy Approaching

- An aerial video filmed while flying my camera drone on the afternoon that Hurricane Teddy was approaching the Nova Scotia coast. This was the calm before the storm, but still a nice ocean swell attracting many surfers to Lawrencetown Beach, East Lawrencetown, Nova, Scotia, Canada. I flew my camera drone from the cliffs at the West side of the beach. Hurricane Teddy arrived the following morning, as a post-tropical storm, with heavy rains and strong winds, but not as severe as forecast.
Filmed with my DJI Mavic 2 Pro on the morning of September 21, 2020 while wearing my Epson Moverio BT-300 FPV glasses. Edited with CyberLink PowerDirector 18.

Thank you very much for your wonderful comments and great support my friend. You are correct. Hurricane Teddy was approaching off the coast but luckily made landfall the next day as a post-tropical storm. Lots of rain but not too much damage.

Hi Don. Thank you! We got off fairly lightly here in Halifax/Dartmouth, lots of rain and fairly strong winds at time but could have been worse. Along the coast waves reached 7 to 9 m wave heights in some areas. I have seen some great photos from the Peggy's Cove area. Looks like today is the "calm after the storm" with very light winds. Dragon boat paddling this morning and then of hiking with my wife and bringing my drone along of course.

Just incredible how the waves look from a bird's-eye view...I think we dodged a bullet with Teddy...you even got Conrad's Beach there in the distance...one of my favorites...brave souls out surfing...but the water colour is almost tropical...thanks for the great captures...
