I think there should be something along the lines of a character like an Elder God needing to give up their power to decend into the mortal realms for a non-arbitrary reason. Something like most of that power being necessary to maintain the realms and is something they simply tap into as elder gods rather than it being a part of them, or needing to limit their power since if they didn't manifesting within a realm would begin unraveling it. It's rather annoying that while characters supposedly are beyond mortal strength and/or gain upgrades in power nothing about their gameplay changes with rare and relatively mundane exceptions. I get that you want to keep things balanced for multiplayer and standard matches, but the campaign should be the place to represent the characters at their true strength.
Honestly, I think the implication is that Elder Gods are the same as the "regular" gods, they just occupy a higher plane of existence. Since Raiden was able to become on in MK4 and all.
Agreed. The moronic reasons they gave for butchering Sindel is a prime example. What they did with her alone conflicts horrendously with Mortal Kombat's overall lore and history.
@@gjtrue signs were already shown of how incompetent their storytelling is before her retcon. E.g. shao Kahn coming back when we worked so hard to get rid of him in mk9 permanently I could name a lot more but you get the point
Cetrion in my eyes was the second most wasted character of the story behind Dark Raiden, and damn it, you did her great justice here Snake. This was amazingly creative!
I really have no idea what's going on in the writer's room at NRS. I understand that to a certain degree a creative vision is going to get muddied by studio interference, but MK11, most of MKX, and the final act of MK9 all feel like they had no idea what to do with the characters and just jotted down whatever would keep them from getting fired that week. Here in these three high budget, narratively driven games, they have the opportunity to piece together narratively interesting stories that flesh out these characters who each have their own widespread fanbase, and instead they seem to drop the ball at every turn. This series is important because it points out how truly awful NRS has handled its characters and their development in the last three games
Nah just bad writers like Dominic ciancolo did a joke of the sindel we all know and love and he didn't even make a poorly written version of our sindel like he does give some personalities to characters as seen by mileena for example
Cetrion was such a disappointment to me. I was one of the few people who liked her design, since its very different from anything we had in MK before, so when the story set her up to be conflicted, I thought she would have a hero reveal at the end, when Kronika asked for her to sacrifice herself, I thought "Okay, no she gives her power to Liu Kang", like, even the idea of her Elder God soul being what pushes Fire God Liu Kang's power to the same level as Kronika's made perfect sense. But no... we her story just ends with her being a good daughter to her mommy and we having a massive logic hole of a mortal guy with a Lesser God's power being able to match a Titan who just absorbed an Elder God's soul.
That does sound cool but There would need to be something with inthe story that could have them be powered down a bit, so the elser gods are still powerful .
Cetrion could have been a forboding antagonist on her own as an Elder God yet to fall, a being who could have aided in the creation of Dark Raiden to possibly complete her plans as she pretended to be as useless as the other Elder Gods. Instead we have t-“CRANK IT UP!!! FORGET ABOUT ELDER GODS!!! CASSIE CAGE NUTSHOT ONE IN THE PREVIOUS GAME!!! WE HAVE TO GO ABOVE THE ONE BEING ITSELF (Until twitter retcons)!!!” This isn’t Dragon Ball Super, we don’t need to keep going over the raw power level of the last antagonist. The Deadly Alliance worked just fine… oh, I forgot that we must barely acknowledge the DA-Armageddon era. I’ll shut up now.
Exactly this isn’t some anime shit where every villian technically has to be stronger than the last. I don’t know how Netherrealm just got worse at lore and storytelling. Especially when the one being should have been the villian if they were just going to reset the timeline again
No, no I can see where you're coming from and the idea I had for Cetrion as she walks up to Shinnok, she was disappointed that he suffered defeat at the hands of Raiden and thus she comes up of a plot to enact punishment to Lesser Gods and Mortals alike who abused such gifts that were granted and if she ever runs into one she reveals to them as an Elder Goddess and she is in fact affiliated with Shinnok, this comes up as baffling as there is no way they are alike in some ways, and she can assure them they are when questioning her why don't they step in when Shao Kahn broke the rules, she answers they probably have other plans for the realms and not just Earthrealm and Outworld because they don't do favors for them only if there is troubling concerning with the return of the abstract concept. Titans (or Titanes if you bother) have no involvement in this and they don't create beings as we are led to believe as the Elder Gods have the knowledge to keep it balanced which is why they have Furies to keep the dimensions from fluctuating in the first place. Geras can just be a name for the top-half Hourglass, but the character be an automaton codenamed: "Terminas" for one purpose: termination. I could easily have Kronika (renaming her Kronikla) to be the Elder God so it could make it much easier, but I have different plans for her, she could be an automaton that is based on rejected doll like design who happens to have argumentative power to piece things back together, much like Terminas that are created by Triborg with Sektor and Cyrax are now gone. The Revenants on the other hand, you can have the audience bewildered that they can't be freed by Quan Chi because that was a lie as Liu Kang, Kitana, Jade (she appears with her this time), Kung Lao (appears with Liu Kang), Sindel (appears with all 4 and becomes the guardian and adviser to all 3), Stryker, Smoke (I'm sorry, Enenra), Kabal and Nightwolf still corrupted with the combination of bad memories and resentment, I dunno know what else to think of about that. Dark Raiden (or Yami Raiden if you wish) should remain for the entirety of the chapter, perhaps the energy he releases should have the body changed as the true form reveals that this is what he used to be. Now do you have the pitch for the storyline we should've gotten, and I may be missing some of these things, but that's what I would bother to give these characters some agency.
i remember back in the day when cetrion was revealed many people thought that she would be the heroine in this story (similar to cassie defeating shinnok, a new comer defeating the final boss) or she would be the key to restoring the revenants, those two theories were better than the role she had in the actual story.....
All the Elder Gods can't be dead so they all maybe even Cetrion will return in MK12 and maybe Cetrion acknowledge the events of MK11 and explain how foolish and easily manipulated she was for letting her mother path a new era that goes against her good nature and betrayed her fellow Elder Gods and the realms I think Kronika threaten Cetrion in joining her if she didn't accept she'll die with the rest of the Elder Gods.
It kind of diminishes the presence of the elder gods in the mk universe as well. After she, what we can assume was able to destroy the other elder gods herself she ends up getting her ass kicked 10 ways from Monday by a rag-tag group of mortals where, as was stated in the video, she hasn't even displayed any level of power comparable to Raiden. It kind of makes the elder gods look like a bunch of chumps and their concept pointless.
I think your ideas for Cetrion sound great! Honestly it highlights the issue of the character chapter system - if Cetrion had her own chapter, you could have shown the inner conflict of her character and justify her hesitation in the final fight with Liu Kang. But because she's a "villain" she doesn't get to be playable in the story! Seriously the character chapters really are so limiting!!! :(
And Cetrion might pop up in the new timeline since she's a god and they reform after death so shouldn't that make Titans reform to after death since they above Elder Gods?
Well yes but no, Liu Kang erased Kronica of time so she'll be not returning and for that Shinnok and Cetrion can't born because they are Kronica's children.
I don't think Elder Gods are actually children of Titans the Elder Gods say that cause Titans are above them and second after The One Being and it is possible to see Cetrion again as gods don't die they reform and they exist in every timeline they have no counterparts.
@Super Duper Blurry Mario I was thinking like thst, in Cetrions ending probably she is "mother" of Shinnok and Raiden becausr they do what she and Shinnok did in the old timeline so there's a chance of Liu Kang and Kitana's children could be like the elder god was.
Good review and ideas here. I wish they had expanded upon more with Liu Kang trying to reason with Cetrion and his foes within MK11's plot. I love Cetrion's design and powers but other than that she's just there cuz "new character" har har har. She's an ELDER GOD and a sibling to the infamous fallen Elder God Shinnok. You'd think a lot would/could be done with that. I'm tired of seeing antagonists being made into mere punching bags just to move the plot along. One of my favs *Erron Black* being a good example that annoys me; as he's been getting that shitty treatment since MKX so far. . .🙄
I kind of think that Cetrion has some parallels to Enrico Pucci from JJBA: Stone Ocean. Both are basically good people who end up being enforcers for a narcissistic control freak, who has time based powers and wants to reset the universe in their favor. The difference is that Pucci is actually an interesting character, while Cetrion is at best the Great Value version of him.

Or have her be the “ultron” of the franchise, given her arcade ending in mk11. How mortals are always given so many chances but they always fuck up in the end so she genocides everyone for her “peace” plan We can also now tackle the idea of beliefs now. How do elder gods feel now there have been mortals who have beaten so many powerful gods? Cetrion may feel angry about this and she might decide to intervene to carry out her harsh torture to make sure everyone beliefs that elder gods are the highest of beings. You could also try to have her justify her crimes by saying something like destroying the realms means getting rid of one being’s chances to be a reawakened. Also, they could’ve characterised her with the character she kills … cough cough Cassie cage, twindel … mainly for fraud. Could possibly kill d’vorah for being a plague in the new era, heck you can even kill kotal Kahn (if he was a god) for not upholding the prowess of a god and showing it’s true capabilities. Basically, we have an irredeemable bitch and we get to avoid having kronika as a main antagonist and avoid retconning sindel. But this will be the last resort if they can’t do shit with dark raiden
@@nabilahmed579 I like a couple of your ideas. What I’d really like to see is a conflict that arises between Cetrion and Shinnok at a theme, not particularly of “good” vs “evil,” but of “life” vs “death.” With Cetrion representing life and Shinnok representing death
@@boyoboyo2272 speaking about that, if they are planning to cap off the series (for the story side), have the elder gods be the final villains of the franchise. Elder gods have a discussion whether to have the realms destroyed or have them live but under some strict circumstances. Literally every single elder god is technically a villain considering all they do is fuck over earthrealm. That’s where we could get the light vs dark come in possibly (although I want cetrion as a villain as I do see some potential, we r gonna the “light” route since that is what she is meant to represent). Some elder gods although may disagree on the fact that shinnok’s way is the right way and some elder gods may agree to cetrion’s side. Idk he may be revived tho. What I am baffled is how they never really explored the elder gods’ villainy in certain ways (for example, shinnok’s way of death, cetrion’s “everyone must die for peace or in the new timeline, goddess for peace the right way and the other elder gods passive nature).
@@nabilahmed579 Cetrion as “life” and “nature” could still be morally ambiguous, so she could still provide a lot of conflict for our heroes while representing “life”
this could be more interesting if she was a planned character since we could say that in mk9 of all the elder gods she is the one who tries to protect the land of khan the most, maybe even after helping defeat khan raiden thanks her, and mk10 could tell raiden to be careful with shinock as he is a threat this would make his betrayal of the elder gods more shocking but more meaningful so to speak and it wouldn't feel like a character they made out of nothing though even with everything I love cetrion
I actually didn’t realize Cetrion was an elder god, I mean I knew she was God but something similar to Raiden (Thunder God) and Fujin (Wind God), like an Elemental Goddess, but even still she’s basically Shinnok but somehow more blander and worse version of the Fallen Elder God
You've changed Kronika's parts and inadvertently improved almost the entire main storyline again just to fix Cetrion. It's better than the NetherRealm Studios' original, again.
The thing I hate the most about Cetrion is that the characters and the game always says she is Kind and Caring, the oppossite of Shinnok, but she is just another violent murderer, she never ever ever displayed the kindness and benevolence she supposedly haves, never healed, repaired, raised, nor reformed anyone. Cetrion just haves an attack dog role any other villain could have
Amazing as ever. Would like to see one on either Kotal's followers as a group or maybe on the sons of Argus because, as much as I like the old timeline, I do think introducing them in the final game of that timeline was a mistake. Maybe have Taven wake up during Deadly Alliance due to Raiden searching for new warriors to bolster his ranks
Strength-wise, they could retcon Raiden being some kind of very important part of the One Being, or some titan with amnesia or something I don’t know haha, maybe push him more to a Zeus-like direction, than Raijin. Hence why Kronika being defeated
I loved that, despite being presented an imposing Elder God when Raiden seeks her counsel and many of her intros cementing her as a Goddess ("Honor Thy Parents, Mortal!), she still seeks Kronika's approval and even seems to fear her so much so she'll sacrifice herself to her mother without a second thought. It can really make you wonder what the family dynamic between Kronika, Cetrion, and Shinnok (which I'm still salty was never shown) must be like if Kronika has such a strong psychological grip on her thousands years old Elder God daughter. Say the line, Sub-Zero......
It seems like she rules through psychological abuse. I could see either of her children becoming gibberish wrecks at a simple “huh….I’m very disappointed . I ask so little of you”
Positive notes about Centrion. She has a good character design and works well with MK11 customization system. I enjoy her voice actress though Mary Elizabeth McGlynn much like Jennifer Hale as Kronika are both horribly wasted. Yup that's about it.
I know Cetrion and Kronika were terrible characters when I kept forgetting thier names and mixing them up with eachother. They really are just a pair of floaty bad guys with no personality.
I love her gameplay and wish for her return in another game. That said, she always felt like an asset dump to me. They had all these elemental particles and whatnot made but didn’t have the time or effort to actually make the corresponding ninja on release. So, they just shoved it all into this plant-looking elder god with barely any character. I think I’m just salty she doesn’t have more plant-based moves after Poison Ivy’s appearance in Injustice 2.
She should have animals as an attack too, and she could be more than just a plant woman, and Poison Ivy is not a plant woman, she's a woman who happens to have partial plant based powers.
I always had the headcanon that Cetrion's power weakens if she believes that she's not on the moral side which goes hand in hand with Liu Kang becoming powerful enough to kill Kronika because even though she dies and merges with him she's content knowing that her inner turmoil is not only resolved but she also now knows that she's made the right choice.
I do but that's cause of her wasted potential. considering I liked her aesthetic the whole flawed virtue as a result of blind obedience Schick and the fact that she's shinnoks sister are some of the major plusses to her. to see that she was such a badly handled character is why I care because it's unfair considering her place in the mk universe
She also should’ve been the voice of reason why Elder Gods like herself couldn’t step in to stop Shao Kahn and Shinnok because that’s be playing favorites to the heroes. Yeah, they’re not doing the job as they’re supposed to, but I can see that they are much concerned for the greater omen within all the realms itself…
What if kronika's (not sure if i spelled it right, don't care either) plan was to lose? It wasnt, but someone could write a story about a time god, who tried to make a perfect world just to fail over and over again, slowly losing the perception of how She would make a future like that and in desperation decides to give her Powers to enemies who had the strenght to oppose her countless times, making them go trought a final struggle to prove their Will, to prove theirs won't break as easily. Again, it fucking wasn't, but With some mental gymnastics someone could write that
Honestly, out of the 3 new characters, I liked Cetrion the most. Despite being a really misused character, I liked her lore a bit bc of the character dialogues tho. I feel like she should have had a siding with the heroes. Her arcade ending was way better than her canon destiny and I wish that she does more in the future along with the heroes. This new plot you wrote is way better than the original, and I hoped to see Cetrion fighting with the heroes
Would love to see you make it so Geras is more important than a jobber) He does have that other more honorable side to him, but that is never worked upon)
I like to think that in the original timeline, Cetrion was one who reanimated scorpions' clan during Armageddon (even though she wasn't introduced until the current one)
I remember her character reveal in mk11 was hella hype for me. I still hate her as a character in mk11 but as far as story goes.. well…they wouldve had a better chance of keeping her alive and maybe carrying on Kronikas will in some way for mk12 - rather than having her absorbed or whatever.
Yeah if they were gonna have her doubt what her mother was doing they should have done something with it instead of immediately going back to blindly obeying Kronika.
After seeing All of your wasted potential videos on Mk,It made want to create my own version of these stories too.To me,There is a lot of avenues you can do with these characters.
There's also a thing about Cetrion's moveset that always bugged me. She's the opposite of Death God. Why is her moveset all about elements? Why does she have freezing when there're already two cryomancers in the roster? Instead how about we give her more "Power of Life" powers? Tentacles/vines/snakes (depends on variation) that snatch the opponent, some ranged move that invloves summoning of a bird/bat that smashes into opponent, healing move where she touches the grass...
The power of Nature would work wonders if tackling the fauna aspect. And heck, she could build a creature that could be a surrogate child of Cetrion to keep a sharp tabs on the mortals or something. Keep the flora stuff here and mix it with fauna bits and you get one of the most standout characters ever.
The4thsnake if you pay attention Kronika plan was to restart the timeline and but erase raiden from the new timeline so he could not interfere and so there could be balance between good and evil .
I forgot how much of a joke Cetrion is an elder god being defeated by Jacqui fucking Briggs How come Cetrion kills all the other Elder Gods and nothing happens from it there are no consequences or affects from this, I would think it would affect the realms somewhat
Nice video 4thsnake I enjoyed the ideas you have for this series, also question will the wasted potential of Jade and Kotal be made soon? It would be interesting to see your thoughts on them.
What pisses me off is that cetrion is proof NRS is aware of subversive character designs you have this beautiful looking nature goddess set up as shinnoks equal in power but opposite in alignment but ultimately she’s a villain So what the hell happened with Sindel Honestly I wish cetrion wasn’t a villain and instead joins Raidan against cronica on behave of the other god like we never got to play as a proper elder god before and help clear the issue of if this time merger concerns them too then why won’t they help
I will never understand what goes through the heads of the people at NRS. They introduced a villain who is made out to be really powerful and has some makings of a more complex character, except since the villains don't get much focus they don't do much with her. As a result she's barely relevant to the plot. Then again X and 11 also insisted on treating the Revenants as irredeemable monsters, EXCEPT for Scorpion even though he actually went to the Netherrealm due to his own sins as opposed to getting ass pulled there. The guy who actually went to Hell for his sins gets redeemed while the good people who got sent to Hell due to a curse get treated as pure evil.
1:42 I would have found it interesting, if, due to her being a goddess of life, she began to question her mother's plan. seeing all the death that it would cause and asking about it. with kronika saying "they will not die, they will be reborn, it is not death but rebirth." or something to push her daughter. Cetrion agrees, but as time progresses she begins to doubt more. till some event causes her to finally break out of her mother's hold. making her side with fire god lui kang. maybe seeing her mother beat lui kang into the ground, killing him over and over due to time manipulation powers and sees how mad her mother has become. Cetrion then intervenes, saving fire god lui kang, and then sacrificing herself. fusing her power to fire god lui kang (like your idea) and granting him the power he needs to somewhat rival her mother.
Hey, what if Cetrion is a good guy who not kronika’s daughter and would help dark Raiden to overcome his inner darkness and restore his true self and then she and him could save the revenants and could help the mortals and Liu Kang to defeat Kronika’s forces and could face kronika but defeat or he’ll turn against her mother and realizes that this isn’t good and wants to help the mortals against kronika and get killed for her betrayal and fire god liu Kang could defeat her and restore the timeline except for resetting it and Cetrion could be restore and could help her brother to lead him in a better path of light except for darkness I guess so that’s how u make him a better character I guess I hope u like it the4thsnake.
Great interpertations as always! What I would've seen for Kronika plan is that Kronika wants to change the timeline because she has seen that further down the current timeline she will lose her power and become a fallen titan. This will be her fate thanks to dark raiden therefore she will once again start the timeline all over again this time erasing Raiden. And yes you've read correct this happend before Kronika has reset the timeline mutiple times to keep her power ensured and be top of the food chane so to speak. Cetrions role is that she will assist Kronika. She will organise the old villains like Shoa Khan to keep enemies like Lui Kang at bay (making Kronika seem more threatnig as she only speaks with cetrion and no one else truelly feeling better than everything). There are many more things I have in mind but its to much to type.
If you would have told me one of the elder gods become playable. Id say that was insane and Id main them. I dont think Ive ever played as Cetrion once.

I like the idea of her being the mysterious woman in Jade’s mk9 ending
I still keep forgetting Cetrion is an elder god, yet considering how much NRS barely used her in MK11 you’d forgive me for thinking so.
And we most likely never will get a Cetrion vs. Shinnok fight even though Cetrion most likely always be the winner light beats dark.
Someone's been playing Kingdom Hearts... (at least I think that's how it works in those games)
@@MattSayYay no one knows how it works in kingdom hearts, not even the fans
The Mortal Kombat Onslaught Trailer kinda had a Shinnok vs Cetrion
Man it's stuff like this makes me wish we could start a Kickstarter to make snake get a position on the storyboarding
Man your name gave me a huge sadness that i forgot, i hate u :'(((
It's kinda sad when a guy on youtube can come up with a better and more coherant Mortal Kombat story than the "professional" writers at NRS.
The writers at NRS aren't even professionals. They replaced the true professionals and did no research whatsoever.
The "writer" in NRS are mostly hired because they matched the sjw criterions
@RPG Maker Horror Game Fan exactly
Agreed. The moronic reasons they gave for butchering Sindel is a prime example. What they did with her alone conflicts horrendously with Mortal Kombat's overall lore and history.
@@gjtrue signs were already shown of how incompetent their storytelling is before her retcon.
E.g. shao Kahn coming back when we worked so hard to get rid of him in mk9 permanently
I could name a lot more but you get the point
I personally loved her character, I want one of the other Elder Gods, mainly the one who had a lion looking head (kinda) to be playable in MK12
That does sound cool but There would need to be something with inthe story that could have them be powered down a bit, so the elser gods are still powerful .
Seeing How newcomers were handled in mk11,i think It's not a good idea
The entire MK11 storyline in a sentence
"SUCH WASTED POTENTIAL"
mk11 story was the best
The way they handled Cetrion in MK11 only serves to remind me of Phelous' "Elder Gods of Useless" and how accurate that term truly is.
WE HAVE TO GO ABOVE THE ONE BEING ITSELF (Until twitter retcons)!!!”
This isn’t Dragon Ball Super, we don’t need to keep going over the raw power level of the last antagonist.
I smiled so big when I saw the notification for this video. I actually forgot Cetrion existed and this made me want more for her. Dammit Netherrealm.
The "Snake's cut" on Cetrion improved her by 100%
Even though she was not used very well, I really hope she returns one day as I really liked her character.
I like her connection to Jade. It would be cool to go in-depth with that some how regardless dope video 🥳
Then we could say one of the Elder Gods finally did something since creating the realms
I really liked Cetrion's looks and the fact that she is also an elder god. Shame they wrote her with less personality than a wet sheet of paper.
To be honest, I liked the idea for Cetrion, just a shame she was written by NRS so she amounted to nothing but fodder
i remember back in the day when cetrion was revealed many people thought that she would be the heroine in this story (similar to cassie defeating shinnok, a new comer defeating the final boss) or she would be the key to restoring the revenants, those two theories were better than the role she had in the actual story.....
Cetrion is a Elder God but doesn't have the powers of one and loses every time.
@@andreware2483 True even Shinnok was better then Cetrion.
Shao Kahn was right about one thing. The elder gods were weak ass worms
@@TheNadroj10 Don't you mean the Elder Gods were toothless worms?
I think your ideas for Cetrion sound great! Honestly it highlights the issue of the character chapter system - if Cetrion had her own chapter, you could have shown the inner conflict of her character and justify her hesitation in the final fight with Liu Kang. But because she's a "villain" she doesn't get to be playable in the story! Seriously the character chapters really are so limiting!!! :(
I never get tired of that LTG soundbite lol
The only redeeming quality of her is her amazing customization in mk11
And Cetrion might pop up in the new timeline since she's a god and they reform after death so shouldn't that make Titans reform to after death since they above Elder Gods?
Well yes but no, Liu Kang erased Kronica of time so she'll be not returning and for that Shinnok and Cetrion can't born because they are Kronica's children.
I don't think Elder Gods are actually children of Titans the Elder Gods say that cause Titans are above them and second after The One Being and it is possible to see Cetrion again as gods don't die they reform and they exist in every timeline they have no counterparts.
The NRS hack writers didn't think that far.
Pucci is interesting yes, but a good person he absolutely is not. He's basically Judge Frollo with more discretion.
@@saidi7975thats the best part about pucci, he is not a good person but he believes that he is. Frollo, know that he is a bad person, he is just love making excuses about it
@@shawerful5209 then Pucci's even worse.
@@shawerful5209 Oh no sorry, I forgot. In Hellfire, Frollo gives his POV... and no, he still sees himself as a good guy despite the abuse and atrocities he commits.
I personally like centurion and honestly I would be all on aboard for her to return someday.
This version would have been a great push to make Cetrion, both, more interesting and relevant. Another Wasted Plotential video with really good ideas
Or have her be the “ultron” of the franchise, given her arcade ending in mk11. How mortals are always given so many chances but they always fuck up in the end so she genocides everyone for her “peace” plan
We can also now tackle the idea of beliefs now.
@@nabilahmed579 Cetrion as “life” and “nature” could still be morally ambiguous, so she could still provide a lot of conflict for our heroes while representing “life”
It’s baffling how Shinnok wasn’t playable, would of given a lot more for Cetrion since this is her debut.
this could be more interesting if she was a planned character since we could say that in mk9 of all the elder gods she is the one who tries to protect the land of khan the most, maybe even after helping defeat khan raiden thanks her, and mk10 could tell raiden to be careful with shinock as he is a threat this would make his betrayal of the elder gods more shocking but more meaningful so to speak and it wouldn't feel like a character they made out of nothing though even with everything I love cetrion
I always said Mk9s ending had Cetrion in it ,I also wondered big Jade is Cetrions daughter just raised as Edianian.
Dang. This is good writing. And you almost saved Kronika's moronic plan too. Didn't think that was possible.
Cetrion just haves an attack dog role any other villain could have
Exactly. Poor writing.
If her character was to be a big hypocrite for her own scheme, then I would be fine with that. However, they never do anything with it
I fell in love with her when I seen her she’s hot she’s a goddess she’s powerful yet she’s used as nothing but puppet
Wasted plotential for Kollector next?
Assuming that he had any to begin with.
She looks pretty cool i too wish had some memorable fights
Cetrion should’ve been the final boss. Her or Geras, not Kronika. She’s too OP for you to even make a story make sense with her involved.
I ask so little of you”
Ah, there's the fabled Cetrion Wasted Plotential episode. So the legends are true.
If she was Jades mother it would boost her status as a character,it might give her some personality.
Add geras who basically a punching bag and serve Kronika
"Such wasted potential"
-Sub Zero
Love this series
Why is Centrion, an ELDER GOD, struggling to maintain a bridge??!
How weak is she?
Maybe she likes her daughter more than her son? I mean he did get kicked down!
I agree with every thing said in this video but I do love playing with Cetrion, I mean she have a solid play style with cool animations.
I just realized that Kronika looks like a fucking finger with gold nail paint.
Again, it fucking wasn't, but With some mental gymnastics someone could write that
I find the lack of Centrion Rule 34 disturbing.
Me too, and I was looking for it..more times than I'D like to admit. There isn't even that much giantess stuff with her to my surprise.
I would think with her rocking a stack would have her r34 to oblivion but there isn't as much as I thought.
Technically 4 newcomers.
Would love to see you make it so Geras is more important than a jobber)
He does have that other more honorable side to him, but that is never worked upon)
I like to think that in the original timeline, Cetrion was one who reanimated scorpions' clan during Armageddon (even though she wasn't introduced until the current one)
Ok,but explain why cetrion someone who is supposed to be virtuous do something like that?
She along with the Elder Gods that revive people, but not for flesh and blood, just as the early version of the Revenants.
Imagine in the new era, if Raiden's sister was Cetrion XD
Or a genderbent Fujin
The fucking LTG voice clip gets me every time
Sub-zero: Frost you won't be alone
Cetrion is literally the definition of a lapdog
I remember her character reveal in mk11 was hella hype for me. I still hate her as a character in mk11 but as far as story goes.. well…they wouldve had a better chance of keeping her alive and maybe carrying on Kronikas will in some way for mk12 - rather than having her absorbed or whatever.
Lol that picture of her mortal self was not expecting that.
Yeah if they were gonna have her doubt what her mother was doing they should have done something with it instead of immediately going back to blindly obeying Kronika.
After seeing All of your wasted potential videos on Mk,It made want to create my own version of these stories too.To me,There is a lot of avenues you can do with these characters.
the cetrion video recommandation gave me a good chuckle
okay the edit of Kronika telling Cetrion to off herself was pretty funny
8:34 idk why but cetrion being much shorter than Raiden is kinda cute
I would really like to se cetrion return. I really think there is great promise to her character.
The4thsnake if you pay attention Kronika plan was to restart the timeline and but erase raiden from the new timeline so he could not interfere and so there could be balance between good and evil .
I forgot how much of a joke Cetrion is an elder god being defeated by Jacqui fucking Briggs
How come Cetrion kills all the other Elder Gods and nothing happens from it there are no consequences or affects from this, I would think it would affect the realms somewhat
cetrion seems like a throwaway injustice character
Nice video 4thsnake I enjoyed the ideas you have for this series, also question will the wasted potential of Jade and Kotal be made soon? It would be interesting to see your thoughts on them.
What pisses me off is that cetrion is proof NRS is aware of subversive character designs you have this beautiful looking nature goddess set up as shinnoks equal in power but opposite in alignment but ultimately she’s a villain
So what the hell happened with Sindel
Honestly I wish cetrion wasn’t a villain and instead joins Raidan against cronica on behave of the other god like we never got to play as a proper elder god before and help clear the issue of if this time merger concerns them too then why won’t they help
Even Snake is succumbing to the LTG meme
Making sense of Kronika’s plans could probably be a video in itself or a collaborative endeavour.
I like the idea of Kronika battering and sadistically torturing Liu and that’s what finally makes Cetrion realise she’s insane
The LTG caught me off guard 🤣🤣
2:27 - When NetherRealm fanboys hear this man's criticisms
Definitely should've been put on this list, I loved the concept but there really wasn't any character to her
Great interpertations as always!
Yk I should’ve known she was gonna be wasted to the fullest bc even her character announcement was just a drop on a damn article/blog. Shit was so weird. It was just like “oh she’s also shinnoks sister btw” like wtf 😭. No build up or anything? And where tf has she been😭😭
