I'm running vinelasers and grievous wound in my version. Very fun deck.
I love the theme heavy tribal styled decks and demons is perfect for Halloween. Made the UB version of this with the new Leyline to make all things demons but it wasn't running slasher so it was much more control style. This version seems a lot more consistent against control/domain.
thats a cool idea, it makes all creatures gain and drain life with Unholy Annex

I wonder if you could swap an avarice for 1x of live or die, it's one of the few instant speed Reanimates. End step return Bloodletter and combo off? Idk.

My first build from this set was similar but uses valgavoth and valgs faithful plus the 2 new removals the one that hits enchants and live or die for valg at instant speed action. Surpised how many people dont read slasher and just let it hit them with bloodletter out lol. Got to mythic super fast without even realizing i was actually having fun playing for the first time in a while and the mythic symbol popped up before i even realized id gotten diamond
Loving this deck so far, Unholy Annex is the MVP of this deck
Unstoppable slasher is pretty busted on its own. If its the only thing connecting, it deals 11/6/3 damage for a 3 turn clock. And that's on top of free recursion and deathtouch so it trades into anything.
Splashing red for the Rakdos Muscle + Doomsday Excruciator insta kill combo is to consider...

How is this for climbing to mythic and long term meta? Just limited on resources and wanting to focus on something I can keep building on long term. Seems like a great tempo deck.
You can even splash some red for rakdos and the 6 mana demons that exiles all cards except the bottom 6 in each deck.
But mono black looking good this meta?

even in early game? I used to gift only late game when opponent had something very good in their hand so I steal it. I will try gifting every time and see how it goes.
Cruel claws heist gift a card is a REALLY good upside actually, yeah they'll draw a card as you resolve it, but you also now get that card as an option to select too.
True, but i do it only when opponent is down to 2 cards in hands. Sometimes 3 cards if boardstate is fine
At that point the value of getting their strongest card gets bigger then loosing tempo

PSA for other black/monoblack players: PLEASE learn to pick the discard from bat faster! Sometimes rarely it's a tough choice. Take a look but don't take whole minutes to sit there looking. I swear yall are trying to trigger me on ladder. Maybe it's new black players. Idk.

Feels like the whole "demon" side theme was unnecessary, mono black is already super powerful.
Maybe it is, but it's fun, new and flavorful. It's noice to play a twist on an old formula. Playing a pile of value might be more effective it's not necessarily funnier. Even for the opponent.
I simply like the diversity.
Mono-black demons is what got the vote for the next brew from chat.

I have a version with 3 demons. Archfiend, Bloodletter and the demon from that room. I wish there was a good 2 mana demon to play before Unholy Annex.
