I believe everyone around me thinks I'm going crazy because I mention Susan Garrett's name everyday 😄! Never in my life I thought I would listen to a dog training podcast or any podcast at all, yet here I am! What you teach goes beyond dog-human relationships. It's guiding me to set myself up for success in many other aspects of my life. Thank you Susan and team ❤ I'm grateful you're here to share life lessons with us!
The stock footage of the serengetti gives me life 🤣 My 9 month old adolescent puppy (aka hormone with legs) recalled off a full-speed squirrel yesterday, thank you Susan and team!! ❤️❤️
Thank you! I am sharing this on Facebook because during the holidays people bring their dogs to others’ homes and that introduces distractions that dog may not be able to handle
My three medium girls could jump an xpen, would I put a cover on it, if I got an xpen? I don’t have room in my house for one though. I have two baby gates, one at the bedroom and one at the living room. I don’t have a bedroom door lol and so that’s how I keep my girls in the bedroom with me at night. So, when people come over, would I put them behind the living room gate into the dining/kitchen area until they calm down and then bring inside on leash? My fourth is a small dog she has a high pitch bark. My girls distractions are UPS trucks, stray cats, birds, people walking by , people driving up to the house and when they see people coming in the yard from the window and at the door. Oh and when they hear neighborhood dogs barking. We’re in homeschool the dog, at treat diving and collar grab. I taught my girls targeting by teaching a high five with their paws and a touch with their nose or mouth. And we’ll be working on the collar grab and onto the next phases before hot zone. I’m learning a lot from the podcasts and the course videos. My bathroom is small and also without a door but I have a shower curtain for it. We may be able to practice some kind of game in there but it’s really small, so is the kitchen and rest of the house but will try out best. The games are fun and don’t feel like work except the part of rotating the dogs out so the next dog can have a turn 😂 that’s a bit of a workout.
Good ideas! Oh, by the way, I was meaning to ask you what mix is your latest brown puppy? He's got such a pretty coat! Looks like he may have Beagle but also some larger long legged breed in him. Pointer maybe or German Shepherd?
