Honestly, just purchase a stick diffuser, works fabulous.. oils soak into the wood, only have to replace the oil, last a very long time. Have had mine 5+ years, still going strong, scents a whole room..

Cinnamon, citrus, pennyroyal, peppermint, pine, sweet birch, tea tree (melaleuca), wintergreen, and ylang ylang, are poisonous to dogs.
You could just use baking soda
Cinnamon isn't dangerous for dogs in small amounts.
