  • Carmen Rodríguez-Peralta and Raley Briggs discuss our upcoming joint "A World of Music" concert.
    Carmen is a pianist and the Chair of the Middlesex Community College’s Music Department in Lowell & Bedford, MA and Director of A World of Music Concert Series. She has performed as piano soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Peru, and Mexico, including two solo recitals at Carnegie Recital Hall. She has given numerous lecture recitals on Latin American Music at various universities throughout the United States, and she is also dedicated to performing new American music and has given many premieres of works by New England composers. Her recordings include Teresa Carreño: Solo Piano and Chamber Works, Music for Cello and Piano from Latin America, and her most recent albums A Peruvian Sojourn (recorded with Orlando Cela) and Larry Bell: Preludes and Fugues both released by Albany Records in 2022. Carmen Rodriguez-Peralta holds a Post-Graduate Diploma from The Juilliard School.
    Guitarist Raley Beggs is an active concert performer and pedagogue. Florida born and Boston based, he performs solo and chamber works for the classical guitar and seeks to emphasize the instrument’s versatility and collaborative capability. As an educator Raley Beggs serves as faculty at Middlesex Community College teaching class guitar and private lessons and is the founding guitarist at EKS Music School. Raley Beggs recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Florida State University under profound guitarist and pedagogue Bruce Holzman, and he holds a Master of Music from New England Conservatory of Music with the esteemed Eliot Fisk. Raley performs as part of “Duo du Sud” with guitarist Carl Straussner, and he has recently returned from South Africa sharing a concert program of South African music including compositions by David Hewitt, the subject of Raley’s doctoral research.
    Both will perform, with other colleagues, at our March 8, 2025 Arts Saturday
