If you played this and ended up getting interested in Puyo Puyo in general, let me give you some advice: - Frogstacking won't always work because it relies heavily on RNG and luck. You're better off attempting to making stair chains of 5 instead and frogstacking on the opposite side of the chain's trigger until you can trigger it. Keep in mind that you'll still want to somewhat have an idea of stacking the Puyos to extend the chain, so don't stack willy-nilly. - Stair chains are the easiest to make since when the Puyos pop, you'll know exactly where they'll go and what Puyos they'll pop next. Simply stack 2 towers of 3 Puyo of the same color right next to each other (for example, 3 reds and 3 blues) and put a Puyo of one of the towers' color on top of the other one (a blue on top of the reds so when the reds pop, they'll pop the blues as well). You can then extend the chain by repeating the process until the bottom is filled out. - In higher levels of play (online), players will be able to distinguish opponents based on how they play. Frogstacking will be an easy sign for them to know you're a noob, and they'll punish you by creating large chains or popping multiple groups at once to overflow you with garbage. - Most of the AIs of the characters used in this minigame aren't good or are very predictable. Ringo, Arle and Carbuncle, and Amitie don't make chains very fast, Suketoudara just covers the first 4 rows with puyo, and everyone else focuses on making 3-5 chains, thought they do this much faster than Ringo and the others. If you quicky throw a few lines of garbage before they can make a decent chain, you can follow up with a bigger chain to finish them off. - Don't try to intstantly clear every group of 4, instead try to make a chain. This'll work better in the long run, when you'll hopefully have a decent chain ready. I'm not a professional by any means, but I know a few tricks. If you want tips from an actual pro, you can look up the Puyo Puyo Tetris Sega Tutorials playlist on TH-cam or the lessons in Puyo Puyo Tetris.
@AnotherMarvelChris in Japan I'm not an expert, but I play the actual games, and the newer ones have a mode called endurance where you face off against a bunch or CPUs that gradually become more and more difficult. Stair stacking might not work all the time, but it can get you through the first few enemies who won't be able to withstand 3-5 chains. Once you get to higher difficulties, you'll need to start being able to make chains with the puyos you throw to the side or incorporate them to the chain itself. If you can't incorporate them, it helps to make groups of 3 together so after your main chain, you can follow up with a 2nd after getting some more puyos to compete the groups of 3 and make a new chain. You can look up chaining tutorials online, the harrassment and GTR tutorials will most likely be the most helpful for this particular game.

This does get harder as the game goes by because of the higher fall speed, but better that than frogstacking or any of the other AI strategies. As far as I've seen, the only major threat in this game is Rulue, and she's honestly kind of a pushover if you get enough early garbage in. Edit: Ok, Risukuma, Maguro, and Sig might also be a problem, but the strategy against Rulue still works on them.

Thanks. I played this for 3 hours and approached it like a Tetris game. I got nowhere and was loudly losing my mind. Your method works but it's still a pain the ass to be working at this speed doing the same thing, over and over for 40 minutes. I'd rather sing karaoke with Haruka, to be honest!
haha yeah, that's the thing. you could legit learn how to play puyo puyo which could take many, many hours or just use this method and probably get it in a few hours tops. I've heard of people really struggling with this, so I'm glad this is helping
@@TheGamingCircle I would do it for free, but like I said with the latency on share play, when I press the controls there is a long delay before anything happens. The input latency would make it impossible for me to play well. Share play is fine for slower paced games, but for something like this where it's fast paced it'd be impossible sadly
I finally did it using the three tower trick. My number one tip is, you gotta do it fast like do three tower fast by just spamming downright and then focus on taking out the bottom of the third. This will 90% do chains and the opponent can't move or do chains.
I've been doing this for a few hours straight and always lose really early or around 15 wins using the fish guy, what am I doing wrong? I just can't seem to get very far
I like this minigame, but I also hate forcing people to play ~30 minutes (every try) of RNG dependent minigames to get an achivement, honestly it should've been something like "get to 10 wins", which would be reasonably difficult and actually fun, having to spend half an hour and getting 26-30 wins just to get Rulue is unreasonable, boring and tedious, I don't have a problem with long difficult minigames, but I do when it's so dependent on RNG.
You know I know all the expert players are saying this strat is rng based and unreliable but after I got the hang of it it carried me through both Judgment and Yakuza 6 Puyo Puyo. Y6 I actually somehow did first try with this method. Highly recommend if you don't want to spend hours learning to actually play the game.
After taking a long brake from this mini-game I finally decided to get this achievement done. And wouldn't you believe it! The Puyo-gods were in a giving mood today. I finally knocked Rulue the fuck out! Ironically, the mini-game I hated intensely actually became rather fun. After many, many hours I finally started to see some system in all the madness. But I will be having nightmares of that bear in a lab-coat, because he comboed me into oblivion more times than I care to admit 😅

Maguro was the real danger prick for me. He combos you out of nowhere and there is nothing you can do. That dickhead is the source of about 95% of my fail runs. For the people feeling hopeless....Just keep at it and you will go on a god run. It takes patience but you will get it. If i can do it anyone can.
Wanted to say thank you for the strat. Took me about 2 days of continual play. I dont think i wan doing it right for the longest time but after watching closely and practicing it clicked. Level 35. It almost plays itself if you can eliminate the combine colors at bottom left. Wish i could explain better.

I fucking HATE Puyo Puyo. The main thing that keeps me from completing the games since its introduction. I fucking learned Mahjong to beat these games, then it dropped this shit on me. Wouldn't be so bad if rivals went 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, then 10. 10 matches is easily doable, but you gotta do like 30, and I never make it that far, I can be an extremely patient person...but I don't enjoy the game. Since they're "rivals," how it should have worked is each character corresponds with a specific other character, so you just have to chose that character to face their "rival."
Locking the plat of an otherwise incredible game is just brutal.. I love the Yakuza games, but playing this trash game for hours is damn tedious, and this is coming from someone who plat'd DMC2

I finally beat Rulue after 5 days of frustrastion and bad luck, for those who struggling I advice to not give up. If you had enough tries, rest and try another time.. Just be patient 🙏
I managed to beat this while also utilizing the PS5 game record, so I was able to pause and analyze my moves each time and I was able to finish this after getting the final rival to show up after 26 wins.
Man, y’all should have told me about this a while ago. Could have helped each and everyone knew of you do this... it looks like a 3-chain followed by 5-chain stairs would be enough to kill each and every one of these CPUs. Nonetheless this is a good tutorial for the strugglers, although it’s like someone said: frogstacking creates lots of problems at time since it’s a noob strategy.

If ppl are still trying this in the year 2023, I recommend playing remote play and using windows snip tool to make 20-rulue easier. Most of the time it's an easy slam but when it's not, figure out the best play. Ty for the video bro, beat her twice to really feel good.
This is impossible. The hardest thing I have ever attempted in gaming. I now have over 320 wins, once with 23 in a row, the best is 24 in a row. The advice to use the fish guy is the worst advice I have come across. Using him I rarely get past the first win, most I have had using him is 3 wins in a row. Best I have used is the bear but then got royally stiffed when the AI had next to no room, but in 4 spaces managed to create 7 combos to wreck me when I had almost a clear sceen. Once you know how to play the game and this method you realise skill is only 5% and the 95% is RNG luck on if the AI is willing to let you win. After 320 wins and 26 hours spent on this mini-game I am shit out of luck.
@@crunchyblend8809 Would like to know as well, since i'm also trying to get this done. So far i have gotten 24 wins in a row, only once after 3 days of trying. I also noticed that while the fish guy IS quite tough, Arle & Carbuncle and Maguro are way more annyoing. Maguro can combo you in seconds and Arle takes forever to knock out and i've seen her make some insane comebacks, from almost beaten to beating me.

Sorry to hear that! The thing is with say, PS Share play is the input lag would make it really hard to help you live, if that makes sense. My best tip, is to walk away and just say "Fuck this". If you're not having fun, and it is a senseless grind, just walk away and be done with it. A platinum trophy is fun to get and all, I did it myself but I learned over the past few years that our limited time is very precious and with everything going on I KNOW it's best to spend it as best you possibly can. The platinum trophy will provide a relatively short dopamine high but after that it's worthless lol! I know this isn't the right answer but it worked well for me. Good luck!

I just finished this! After 41 wins, I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment because this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in a video game!
In Judgement it sure is ridiculous More than anything it’s unfair because it knocks you down instantly at any mistakes... In drone racing it doesn’t even play with your rules.

@@jimmyqballs I think because the majority of mini games work off a different engine type thing, this is why main game difficulty has no effect over mini-games. As you're no doubt aware the only time you could alter the arcade difficulty was in some Yakuza games where they had multiple arcades with specific difficulties. I've now been trying to finish Puyo Puyo for almost two months and a calculated time of 40 hours. Its insane the luck and RNG involved in this mini game. If not for the Rulue requirement it would actually be an awesome mini-game, but most times it feels like Japanese devs don't actually want you to have too much fun.
This is probably the most annoying minigame i've played in the yakuza series/judgment.. needs also luck to win this over and the annoying part is the rest of the characters doesnt even randomly spawn.. i've beaten 5 and 5 still left.. 😂

It took me a while but yea you need luck aswell. I think it took me 2 days, 8 hrs to be exact. I got a little obsess about it because i already invested so much time in learning all the mini games no way it will go to waste. I honestly thought it was impossible too at first because i only get 3rd level heck i even die at first level continuously. I got it on my first try yeah, but when I want to record this video I didn't get it until my 3rd try, so 4 tries total to get the in-game completion as well as recording the video. And thanks! I used to play a LOT of Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, so I'm comfortable with making relatively fast plays and playing near the top of the screen.

If you'd done a bit of research you would be able to tell they're very different games.

Ha, yeah it can be difficult but try to stick with it! Keep in mind you don't get any good rewards for completing anything in this game, so sometimes it's better to walk away and do something better with your time.
The stacking method you guys are using is called "Frog Stacking." If you guys want help on how to actually play the game. Get Puyo Puyo Tetris or Puyo Puyo Champions for PS4, Switch or PC. I'll be more than happy to teach you guys.

This doesn’t really work, it’s a dice roll, not a strategy, that’s why this game is such a problem for people, because you’re crossing your fingers for 25 rounds, and usually you get blasted within the first few. Queue 30 hours of attempting this garbage.

Is there a way to get certain opponents or is it completely random? I’ve beat 5 rivals so far but now everytime I start a game it puts me against someone I’ve already beat.
I'm pretty sure it's random, and along the way to fighting the 10th opponent who is Lulu, you will fight the same ones over and over again!

I finally beat Rulue after 5 days of frustrastion and bad luck, for those who struggling I advice to not give up. If you had enough tries, rest and try another time.. Just be patient 🙏
I managed to beat this while also utilizing the PS5 game record, so I was able to pause and analyze my moves each time and I was able to finish this after getting the final rival to show up after 26 wins.
Man, y’all should have told me about this a while ago. Could have helped each and everyone knew of you do this... it looks like a 3-chain followed by 5-chain stairs would be enough to kill each and every one of these CPUs. Nonetheless this is a good tutorial for the strugglers, although it’s like someone said: frogstacking creates lots of problems at time since it’s a noob strategy.

Thanks for the guide. This is all I lack for 100 percent. I fucking hate this minigame. Honestly thought getting 5 open riichis at tachibana mahjong would be the worst which took 8 hours. Nope this peice of shit puzzle game has broken me. I have gone insane cursing aloud as happy go lucky music plays with a colorful array of bubbles pierce my eyes. That bear and that fish can go straight to hell. I've platinumed every release I love these games. I eventually came to have Stockholm syndrome for mahjong, this however... AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! STAMPEDE!!!!
If ppl are still trying this in the year 2023, I recommend playing remote play and using windows snip tool to make 20-rulue easier. Most of the time it's an easy slam but when it's not, figure out the best play. Ty for the video bro, beat her twice to really feel good.
This is impossible. The hardest thing I have ever attempted in gaming. I now have over 320 wins, once with 23 in a row, the best is 24 in a row. The advice to use the fish guy is the worst advice I have come across. Using him I rarely get past the first win, most I have had using him is 3 wins in a row. Best I have used is the bear but then got royally stiffed when the AI had next to no room, but in 4 spaces managed to create 7 combos to wreck me when I had almost a clear sceen. Once you know how to play the game and this method you realise skill is only 5% and the 95% is RNG luck on if the AI is willing to let you win. After 320 wins and 26 hours spent on this mini-game I am shit out of luck.

@@crunchyblend8809 Would like to know as well, since i'm also trying to get this done. So far i have gotten 24 wins in a row, only once after 3 days of trying. I also noticed that while the fish guy IS quite tough, Arle & Carbuncle and Maguro are way more annyoing. Maguro can combo you in seconds and Arle takes forever to knock out and i've seen her make some insane comebacks, from almost beaten to beating me.

Sorry to hear that! The thing is with say, PS Share play is the input lag would make it really hard to help you live, if that makes sense. My best tip, is to walk away and just say "Fuck this". If you're not having fun, and it is a senseless grind, just walk away and be done with it. A platinum trophy is fun to get and all, I did it myself but I learned over the past few years that our limited time is very precious and with everything going on I KNOW it's best to spend it as best you possibly can. The platinum trophy will provide a relatively short dopamine high but after that it's worthless lol! I know this isn't the right answer but it worked well for me. Good luck!

I spent 20hours straight and i just felt empty and tired after,and for what?for the ephemeral or even none anymore pleasure of getting the platinum. On the other hand, if i keep thinking about my limited time on earth and how to spend it,i really have nothing in this period of my life that fulfills me more than completing viedo games. no friends,girflriend,demanding job or kids. i have a job that im good at,i already have an excellent degree from uni,i already speak and read japanese,i have a decent physique,and other than anime and gaming,i dont see how i could use my time any better. although i have written down essentially what you said,so i could do it. but my mental health is currently being boosted by gaming, and i am searching for some other capable gamer to do it for me,i choose an easy way instead of simply walking away and never be able to get over it. i have walked away from other games like Evil Within 1,for the rediculous difficulty,but thats not the same,cause judgement is actually really easy platinum and satisfying,other than this hellish mini game. sorry i wrote a lot,i just felt like it. thank you for your advice,and really if you think you can do it via share-play,i would like to give it at least a try.

@@jimmyqballs I think because the majority of mini games work off a different engine type thing, this is why main game difficulty has no effect over mini-games. As you're no doubt aware the only time you could alter the arcade difficulty was in some Yakuza games where they had multiple arcades with specific difficulties. I've now been trying to finish Puyo Puyo for almost two months and a calculated time of 40 hours. Its insane the luck and RNG involved in this mini game. If not for the Rulue requirement it would actually be an awesome mini-game, but most times it feels like Japanese devs don't actually want you to have too much fun.

This is probably the most annoying minigame i've played in the yakuza series/judgment.. needs also luck to win this over and the annoying part is the rest of the characters doesnt even randomly spawn.. i've beaten 5 and 5 still left.. 😂

Let's see tip is after frog stacking you need to be quick look ahead of whats next color and just match drop them fast. It took me a while but yea you need luck aswell. I think it took me 2 days, 8 hrs to be exact. I got a little obsess about it because i already invested so much time in learning all the mini games no way it will go to waste.
I honestly thought it was impossible too at first because i only get 3rd level heck i even die at first level continuously.

I got it on my first try yeah, but when I want to record this video I didn't get it until my 3rd try, so 4 tries total to get the in-game completion as well as recording the video. And thanks! I used to play a LOT of Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, so I'm comfortable with making relatively fast plays and playing near the top of the screen.

Sorry to break it to you, but that's a genre of games, the "falling block puzzle" which include many other games. Can you build overhangs in Puyo Puyo? Didn't think so. Can you send a killchain and harrass in Tetris? Didn't think so. T spins in Puyo Puyo? Tailing in Tetris? It seems you didn't bother playing either. If you'd done a bit of research you would be able to tell they're very different games.

This doesn’t really work, it’s a dice roll, not a strategy, that’s why this game is such a problem for people, because you’re crossing your fingers for 25 rounds, and usually you get blasted within the first few. Queue 30 hours of attempting this garbage.
