I would start with having your codes ran. Then check for fuel pressure. Then a compression test, also when last time you done a tuneup? Spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap's and rotors, and fuel filter?
I have a 92 and the fuel gauge isn’t working do you know if there’s a float in the tank I didn’t see one when I changed the fuel pump but wasn’t really looking out for that either
I have a 2000 Ls400 that has started to have an odor of gasoline that is most noticeable in the vicinity if the rear tire(s), and more prevalent right at engine start-up. I’m thinking if I dig into the fuel pump, I’m likely to find the source of the fuel vapor leak. Did you notice any fuel odor before the pump went out? Many thanks.
Good video!, we own a 98 Ls 400 with every factory option available at the time to purchase the car, it has those air bags and man they suck! Tired of having to replace them, but was curious, what exhaust pipes are you running and where did you buy them? Ours is bone stock amd quiet.. I like the sound yours makes Ps. Came to your video caue I need ro do my fuel pump, we have let the car sit for over 2 years with premium fuel and I think the fuel pump has gotten sticky.. crank no start in this 115 degree weather we live in..
My exhaust is a custom made exhaust system. It's 2.5 inch piping. Starts at the factory Catalytic converter to a x-pipe from the x-pipe straight to the rear of the car to 2 stainless steel performance mufflers.
@@lexuslife did you buy a denso I bought the cheaper one at Autozone and when I turn my key it makes a winding noise and it doesn't go away when I leave the key on the on position...should I take it off and go denso
@@kangokidkidd4037 all fuel pumps make a Whining noise. But it depends on what year you have when it comes to LS400. The 89-94 the pump don't turn on till the cars motor turns over. The 95 and newer they should u Turn on when the key is on
@@kangokidkidd4037 I want to say yours shouldn't turn on till the motor turning over. But the SC400 are a little different from the LS400. But the fuel systems on these cars are a return system so the pump has to stay on for the motor to get fuel. Just like mine thats a 92. The pump don't turn on till the motor turns over but once the motor is running the pump stays on

I have a similar problem with my 91 ls400 but at freeway speed it cuts out/in. Replaced computer and maf and same thing.
My son has same car and same problem. So far no solution. 😢

The float is in a different hole. There's a nother hole in the trunk you can access and that's the float

BTW do u know where is the fuel sender? My car got wrong fuel reading.
It's in the trunk of the vehicle. Pull the carpet in the trunk on the back side you will see the gas tank and on top is the sending unit
