As you reach international borders, such as the border between Poland and Belarus or Russia and DPR Korea, border officials will wake you and will quite happily make sure you are off the train if you don't have documents. On Russian Railways trains, the Hostess onboard will remind you of this as well.

Your map of the world's existing rail lines is incomplete. China is missing at least 80% of its current railway lines and Australia is missing a rather significant line. There's a rail line from Adelaide to Darwin (runs vertically up the middle of Australia) so I can only assume bulk other rail lines are missing elsewhere as well.

I think a North American, or continental lines, would be more realistic. I live near the US border in Canada and there are trains which cross the border, just not for people. There's also a really old railway at the Lewiston bridge in Niagara Falls that used to be for passengers. Now the VIA rail service uses the same line, up until the border. Both Canada and the US have coast to coast rail systems, that are disconnected by our borders.

You'd probably go through about a 100 stops. It's a start. Just wanted to spread word about this because it deserves a youtube video or several.

Is the tectonic plates and their tendency to drift

  • @blueisnotgreen7258
    @blueisnotgreen7258 6 ปีที่แล้ว

the most feasable trans-planetary hyperloop would be an arctic and antarctic loop connected by partnering countries that make direct connections via parabolically merging conduits. This would look like how loops of a particle accelerator connect but with two similar sized loops at the poles (superconducting hyperloop = needs refrigeration ) and a bunch of two way or one way paths to and from the main loops.
Polar bears and penguins would be dizzy.

In order for everyone to travel only for tourism as in just visiting a country to discover its landscape, landmarks, meet people and so on, everyone would have to be well off economically. Most people, globally, don't ever leave their country unless they're fleeing war or poverty. If there would be at least some economic equality, a global metro system would be awesome of course. It would enable easier cultural exchange and let people from all over travel more freely. Let's remember that most people who can afford to travel a lot are logically the richest people, and those are mostly from north america and europe.

Read Robert Heinlein's 'Friday' for a description of underground hyperloop systems on each continent. They were supplemented with semi-ballistic semi-space planes for trans-oceanic high-speed crossings (Saskatoon to Auckland in 45 minutes). There was even a tethered space station with an elevator. Science-fiction authors were already writing about this decades ago. All we need to do is follow their blueprint. We have the technology now.

There are some very important Canadian connections that are missing in this map. Some places you have to transfer into the US to get between Canadian cities.
    1) Prince George should really connect between Kelowna and Juneau. In fact a train that would run from Kelowna to Juneau would almost certainly have to pass through Prince George regardless.
    2) Once the Pink Northern Line gets to Churchill, it really might as well continue south to Winnipeg. That way the northern communities get connected to the rest of Canada without having to first head West to Alaska.
    3) Why doesn't Saguenay connect to Halifax? You're literally almost there. Without this connection, Canadians have to transfer trains in Detroit and got to Boston to transfer onto another train to take them to Halifax or Trans-Atlantic.

i take issue with the locations of Omaha, Kansas City and Topeka. Omaha is far east of Topeka, so I think the line should run from Omaha to Kansas City to Wichita rather than Omaha to Topeka to Wichita.

In regard to the rails over the Pacific Ocean, one could try building most of it underwater to avoid the weather.

    Sounds great but also consider
G forces and effects on the human body
    Safety
Will it interrupt shipping routes and limit the size of ships that can pass
Damage to any train that is subjected to both extreme temperatures

I think it sounds like an awesome idea. It also sounds like a complete nightmare, but I still support it because it helps connect the entire world.

I don't know why we would use metro let's use high speed or conventional rail, hyper loops are not currently a viable option. Otherwise I think this would be a great idea

Terrible idea, think about the amount of people that would want to go on one, and think about how many train cars there would be. There might be a week wait for a total of 40 people out of the 10000 waiting to go from New York to London. Also it would be very expensive to ride and you would have to pay for 5 tickets to get from New York to london. So you would have to wait 2 years, pay about $70k, and it might be overbooked. A better idea is massive passenger jets that can go faster than the speed of sound with no problems.
