    Hallo Dmitry, i very much like your playing. I play the violin and wonder where I could buy such an instrument. I have aleeady played this prelude in the Electric guitar as well. It also sounds good.

      Hallo Marcio, thank you for your kind comment. Judging from your comment, you like my playing but it seems, not my instruments. If that's the case, I appreciate, it's normal. Because none of my instruments was made with you in mind, since I even did not know who you were or what you want. I hope this somehow makes sense. But if you don't like my instruments for any other reason, let me know. Maybe I can help. Either way, I am not a musician, I mean, that's not what I do to help my clients.

    Dmitry, are you tuned to A415hz in this? I was playing along earlier and your C string was sounding lower than I could achieve at A440hz, until I retuned that is. Great playing as usual, that spalla is sounding lovely.

      Thank you. Yes, that was 415 or so. Frankly, sometimes I forget to check at what pitch I play; when I craft instruments for clients I make sure they can safely tune anywhere between 382 and 465. This set of strings was created at 415 but it will work just as fine at 440.

    your tone is superb. i have never heard of this instrument. is it identical in pitch to what we regard as the cello?
    i do not have perfect pitch.
    for my sins i was a double bass player

      Thank you. Yes, it is identical to the cello. Actually, composers in the 17th-18th centuries normally called this instrument a violoncello.

    If Bach composed the Cello Suites for Violoncello da spalla respectively for the viola pomposa i.e. for violin or viola players, why this isn‘t reflected in the clefs used in the notation for the suites?

    • @badiarov
      @badiarov  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. Because violoncello da spalla at the time was called violoncello, viola pomposa is an unrelated instrument and should not be confused with the violoncello. The clefs represent the position of G, C, or F in relation to the staff, rather than specialisation of the player: normally, violinists at the time (and the Early Music violinists-violists even today) read all these clefs with relative ease. I hope this answers your question?

      @@badiarov Not convincing. Why then the 5th suite is notated as it had to been played (for the highest string), but not with the real notes in mind? And the fifth suite is dedicated to a four string instrument, suites 1-4 are not determined at all to a four-, five- or six-string instrument, which all were very common in different sizes at this time.

      No worries :-)

      @@trabouliste1037 ah, don’t worry. Not a problem at all. I am just not getting what you wanted to achieve, there are millions of other videos, other musicians, other luthiers, which you may find convincing, and more suitable to what you already know; so why would you spend time with something or someone you don’t like. Either way, thank you for sharing your opinion, I appreciate.

      @@badiarov I wanted nothing to achieve.
      And why do you think, I didn’t like you?
      Why should I waste my time with your channel if I don't find it interesting?
      But your claim that the 6th suite was composed especially for violoncello da spalla lacks any substance. That doesn’t mean that you or anyone else shouldn’t play it on this instrument.
      Paolo Pandolfo played all the suites on a viola da gamba and it is gorgeous.
