I just got one of these I am mixed on it. You can see from the video the orange shirt never leaves the top of the washer. My old washer was a beast and rotated thinks from top to bottom.
Yes, you can lift the lid while the washer fills with water - no magnet. The other thing I wanted to mention regarding performance is that my mom has this machine and I ran my favorite hoodie through a full load once and it came out perfectly clean with no pretreat.... what's the big deal about that you ask? There were stains that had been there for years that my front load Maytag couldn't get out, even with pre-treat.
I use to have that GE washer hydrowave. I brought it in 2007. I loved it cause it was a quiet. But I've always took care of it. And serviced it after 1 year. Making sure every part was good.
To everyone who is complaining about rollover, this washer is working exactly as designed. It produces a "blooming" effect with reverse rollover forcing clothes down the tub and along the ribs.
In this washers defense I am a tire technician and my clothes get filthy I have to wash them at home as my work does not provide laundering service. I use this washer to wash them my clothes, and they get exceptionally clean out of it. Even gets stains from grease out.
I just bought a brand new ge washer and im wash in my first load. I dont like it because it spins so slow. I'm really considering returning it. I don't see how its going to clean my clothes like my old washer.
I've already decided to get the LG Waveforce because it has great cleaning and the Speed Queen is way overpriced and I've heard several bad reports about there being greece in the tub
I was thinking about getting one of these washers. Can you fill the basket up with water while the lid is open (without using a magnet)? And about how long does this washer take to do a heavy load from very start up to end? Thanks!
I just bought a hydrowave and I am sitting here doing the first load. The machine stops when I open thr lid, so how did you keep it going with the lid open? Also, used plain detergent and am seeing no suds when I peek in. Is that normal?
To answer the question of how do you get it to work a lid open just get yourself a real magnet not one of those magnets you keep on your refrigerator but something more powerful and put it on the rectangle on the bottom right of the corner where the lid closes and that will make it work
Who controls water level? Always choose a bulky cycle if water is selected by washer, if you want a better roll over and cleaner load. Good for really dirty clothes.
So what's wrong with just a normal pull the clothes from the top of the machine to the bottom of the machine and repeat type of operation? Why try to improve on something that's worked since the good ole wringer washer was invented? What's all the hesitation in the beginning?
No offense. But these were the worst machines GE ever made in my opinion. My mom’s HydroWave only lasted like 5 years before it gave up the ghost. She replaced it with a Samsung which sucks too but it is holding up better than the HydroWave ever did. She also owned a chug chug GE which failed due to a sock getting stuck in the drain pump which a huge mistake.
I wouldn't let the appliance store PAY ME to carry a piece of junk (washer) like that home! The new Speed Queen washers are the only remaining brand that still make them as washer manufacturers used to make washing machines years ago!

from what i have seen this machine does a nice job at rollover i like it myself
+kelly savage I agree, I like it too.
Yes, very satisfied. For being a new model GE, it cleans very nice and gives great results.

I love it 😍😍😍😍
That’s a lie...GE hydro wave washers moved the clothes towards the agitator, not away from it. That machine is simply overloaded.

The auger pulls the clothes down not up

I would buy one if I could the dryer too ignore them haters I'm looking at the proof it cleans thoroughly gently and efficiently
I didn't see all that much. In another post, someone mentioned a orange shirt that stayed on top and didn't move. I noticed the same thing.

Well, it's quiet... I'll give it that. Are you satisfied with it's performance?

GE may make changes soon. Whirlpool-made Washers made lid lock and sensor controls beginning in 2011. I do like Whirlpool-made washers better though
How did you disable the lid? Where did you put the magnet?
To answer the question of how do you get it to work a lid open just get yourself a real magnet not one of those magnets you keep on your refrigerator but something more powerful and put it on the rectangle on the bottom right of the corner where the lid closes and that will make it work
I tried that, it does work.
I used a magnetix magnet once, they maybe small & skinny, but if you place it on the lids magnet just right, it works.
How to wash with lid open
How did u get it to go with the lid up, mine stops.
you use a magnet on the lid switch....
how id you get the water to fill up to that level?
motor direct drive?
Its belt driven

Where is the water, 3 inches of watet and I supposed to do a full load of wash, how can you possibly get your clothes clean!
Apparently your blind because I saw a full tub of water in there.
i think i saw the fly! 4:58
it don't spray rinse during spin cycle thts crazy

Gosh a tough one, but for the best performance id get the speed queen
F**k speed peasant
Is it American?
I hate having to rant on H.E. machines but HydroWaves were awful.
Especially the impeller ones.
That water is filthy!!! Better wash them twice!!

Belt Drive
Filterflo washers are better...!!!
