Folks who work on the watches they collect will often purchase "related" watches...which is to say models in a given line that share a significant percentage of parts. The 940/946 pairing share about 85% of the parts in common, giving the collector an "edge" should something ontoward happen from an accident or mishap. Hamiltons and Illinois are huge go-to-s for collectors, just like they were for the Railroad industry 100 years ago. Beautiful pieces. Oh......did I mention I have two 940-s?
