    I love these reviews on the Essentials nobody ever talks about these and I almost love them more than the originals

      Thank you 🙏! I’m glad you’re enjoying them. For the X-Men especially, I honestly think that the black and white format gives the artwork a timeless feel. If you like the Essentials line, I’d recommend The Ghost Rider series with Johnny Blaze. Volumes 1 & 3 are so-so, but volumes 2 & 4 contain some of the best Marvel horror comics I’ve ever read.

      @@ethn2963 You’re welcome! From what I remember, there were several Essentials for Amazing Spider-Man (which was how I was able to read the Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr. stuff; that was a looong time ago). Marvel Two-In-One (starring The Thing) was fun, and Volumes 2 & 3 of The Punisher had some awesome Frank Castle stories. Haven’t read them yet, but want to read the Moon Knight Essentials. THAT is a character who’s perfect for the black & white format. Hope this helps!
